    Optimisation sous contraintes de problèmes distribués par auto-organisation coopérative

    Quotidiennement, divers problèmes d'optimisation : minimiser un coût de production, optimiser le parcours d'un véhicule, etc sont à résoudre. Ces problèmes se caractérisent par un degré élevé de complexité dû à l'hétérogénéité et la diversité des acteurs en jeu, à la masse importante des données ainsi qu'à la dynamique des environnements dans lesquels ils sont plongés. Face à la complexité croissante de ces applications, les approches de résolution classiques ont montré leurs limites. Depuis quelques années, la communauté scientifique s'intéresse aux développements de nouvelles solutions basées sur la distribution du calcul et la décentralisation du contrôle plus adaptées à ce genre de problème. La théorie des AMAS (Adaptive Multi-Agents Systems) propose le développement de solutions utilisant des systèmes multi-agents auto-adaptatifs par auto-organisation coopérative. Cette théorie a montré son adéquation pour la résolution de problèmes complexes et dynamiques, mais son application reste à un niveau d'abstraction assez élevé. L'objectif de ce travail est de spécialiser cette théorie pour la résolution de ce genre de problèmes. Ainsi, son utilisation en sera facilitée. Pour cela, le modèle d'agents AMAS4Opt avec des comportements et des interactions coopératifs et locaux a été défini. La validation s'est effectuée sur deux problèmes clés d'optimisation : le contrôle manufacturier et la conception de produit complexe. De plus, afin de montrer la robustesse et l'adéquation des solutions développées, un ensemble de critères d'évaluation permettant de souligner les points forts et faibles des systèmes adaptatifs et de les comparer à des systèmes existants a été défini.We solve problems and make decisions all day long. Some problems and decisions are very challenging: What is the best itinerary to deliver orders given the weather, the traffic and the hour? How to improve product manufacturing performances? etc. Problems that are characterized by a high level of complexity due to the heterogeneity and diversity of the participating actors, to the increasing volume of manipulated data and to the dynamics of the applications environments. Classical solving approaches have shown their limits to cope with this growing complexity. For the last several years, the scientific community has been interested in the development of new solutions based on computation distribution and control decentralization. The AMAS (Adaptive Multi-Agent-Systems) theory proposes to build solutions based on self-adaptive multi-agent systems using cooperative self-organization. This theory has shown its adequacy to solve different complex and dynamic problems, but remains at a high abstraction level. This work proposes a specialization of this theory for complex optimization problem solving under constraints. Thus, the usage of this theory is made accessible to different non-AMAS experts' engineers. Thus, the AMAS4Opt agent model with cooperative, local and generic behaviours and interactions has been defined.This model is validated on two well-known optimization problems: scheduling in manufacturing control and complex product design. Finally, in order to show the robustness and adequacy of the developed solutions, a set of evaluation criteria is proposed to underline the advantages and limits of adaptive systems and to compare them with already existing systems

    Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) enables composition of large and complex computational units out of the available atomic services. However, implementation of SOA, for its dynamic nature, could bring about challenges in terms of service discovery, service interaction, service composition, robustness, etc. In the near future, SOA will often need to dynamically re-configuring and re-organizing its topologies of interactions between the web services because of some unpredictable events, such as crashes or network problems, which will cause service unavailability. Complexity and dynamism of the current and future global network system require service architecture that is capable of autonomously changing its structure and functionality to meet dynamic changes in the requirements and environment with little human intervention. This then needs to motivate the research described throughout this thesis. In this thesis, the idea of introducing autonomy and adapting case-based reasoning into SOA in order to extend the intelligence and capability of SOA is contributed and elaborated. It is conducted by proposing architecture of an autonomic SOA framework based on case-based reasoning and the architectural considerations of autonomic computing paradigm. It is then followed by developing and analyzing formal models of the proposed architecture using Petri Net. The framework is also tested and analyzed through case studies, simulation, and prototype development. The case studies show feasibility to employing case-based reasoning and autonomic computing into SOA domain and the simulation results show believability that it would increase the intelligence, capability, usability and robustness of SOA. It was shown that SOA can be improved to cope with dynamic environment and services unavailability by incorporating case-based reasoning and autonomic computing paradigm to monitor and analyze events and service requests, then to plan and execute the appropriate actions using the knowledge stored in knowledge database

Stroke is a leading cause of disability among adults of all ages, contributing significantly to health care costs related to long term implications, particularly if rehabilitation is sub-optimal.     Metamodel for personalized adaptation of pedagogical strategies using metacognition in Intelligent Tutoring Systems

    The modeling process of metacognitive functions in Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) is a difficult and time-consuming task. In particular when the integration of several metacognitive components, such as self-regulation and metamemory is needed. Metacognition has been used in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve the performance of complex systems such as ITS. However the design ITS with metacognitive capabilities is a complex task due to the number and complexity of processes involved. The modeling process of ITS is in itself a difficult task and often requires experienced designers and programmers, even when using authoring tools. In particular the design of the pedagogical strategies for an ITS is complex and requires the interaction of a number of variables that define it as a dynamic process. This doctoral thesis presents a metamodel for the personalized adaptation of pedagogical strategies integrating metamemory and self-regulation in ITS. The metamodel called MPPSM (Metamodel of Personalized adaptation of Pedagogical Strategies using Metacognition in intelligent tutoring systems) was synthetized from the analysis of 40 metacognitive models and 45 ITS models that exist in the literature. MPPSMhas a conceptual architecture with four levels of modeling according to the standard Meta- Object Facility (MOF) of Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) methodology. MPPSM enables designers to have modeling tools in early stage of software development process to produce more robust ITS that are able to self-regulate their own reasoning and learning processes. In this sense, a concrete syntax composed of a graphic notation called M++ was defined in order to make the MPPSM metamodel more usable. M++ is a Domain-Specific Visual Language (DSVL) for modeling metacognition in ITS. M++ has approximately 20 tools for modeling metacognitive systems with introspective monitoring and meta-level control. MPPSM allows the generation of metacognitive models using M++ in a visual editor named MetaThink. In MPPSM-based models metacognitive components required for monitoring and executive control of the reasoning processes take place in each module of an ITS can be specified. MPPSM-based models represent the cycle of reasoning of an ITS about: (i) failures generated in its own reasoning tasks (e.g. self-regulation); and (ii) anomalies in events that occur in its Long-Term Memory (LTM) (e.g. metamemory). A prototype of ITS called FUNPRO was developed for the validation of the performance of metacognitive mechanism of MPPSM in the process of the personalization of pedagogical strategies regarding to the preferences and profiles of real students. FUNPRO uses self-regulation to monitor and control the processes of reasoning at object-level and metamemory for the adaptation to changes in the constraints of information retrieval tasks from LTM. The major contributions of this work are: (i) the MOF-based metamodel for the personalization of pedagogical strategies using computational metacognition in ITS; (ii) the M++ DSVL for modeling metacognition in ITS; and (iii) the ITS prototype called FUNPRO (FUNdamentos de PROgramación) that aims to provide personalized instruction in the subject of Introduction to Programming. The results given in the experimental tests demonstrate: (i) metacognitive models generated are consistent with the MPPSM metamodel; (ii) positive perceptions of users with respect to the proposed DSVL and it provide preliminary information concerning the quality of the concrete syntax of M++; (iii) in FUNPRO, multi-level pedagogical model enhanced with metacognition allows the dynamic adaptation of the pedagogical strategy according to the profile of each student.Doctorad
