    Get PDF
The This study aims to investigate how supply chain resilience affects frim performance and competitive advantage in the face of environmental uncertainty in Iran's dairy industry. The present research is practical in terms of purpose and causal in terms of method. The method of data collection was a survey and using a questionnaire tool, whose validity and reliability were confirmed. According to Cochran's formula, where the statistical population is about 200 people, our sample is 127 people. Reliability and reliability tests such as construct validity and content validity as well as Cronbach's alpha coefficient were also used. Causal tests and structural equation models have also been used to analyze the research data. The findings demonstrate that resilient supply networks enhance both organizational performance and competitive advantage. Likewise, the association between a robust supply chain and competitive advantage as well as the relationship between a resilient supply network and organizational performance are both positively impacted by environmental uncertainty. The study adds to the body of knowledge regarding the dairy industry's competitive advantage, supply chain resilience, and firm performance

    Prosperity

    Get PDF
A ‘moderately prosperous society’ with no Chinese individual left behind—that’s the vision for China set out by Chinese President Xi Jinping in a number of important speeches in 2017. ‘Moderate’ prosperity may seem like a modest goal for a country with more billionaires (609 at last count) than the US. But the ‘China Story’ is a complex one. The China Story Yearbook 2017: Prosperity surveys the important events, pronouncements, and personalitites that defined 2017. It also presents a range of perspectives, from the global to the individual, the official to the unofficial, from mainland China to Hong Kong and Taiwan. Together, the stories present a richly textured portrait of a nation that in just forty years has lifted itself from universal poverty to (unequally distributed) wealth, changing itself and the world in the process

Success Factors Impacting Artificial Intelligence Adoption --- Perspective From the Telecom Industry in China

    Get PDF
As the core driving force of the new round of informatization development and the industrial revolution, the disruptive achievements of artificial intelligence (AI) are rapidly and comprehensively infiltrating into various fields of human activities. Although technologies and applications of AI have been widely studied, and factors that affect AI adoption are identified in existing literature, the impact of success factors on AI adoption remains unknown. Accordingly, the main study of this paper proposes a framework to explore the effects of success factors on AI adoption by integrating the technology, organization, and environment (TOE) framework and diffusion of innovation (DOI) theory. Particularly, this framework consists of factors regarding the external environment, organizational capabilities, and innovation attributes of AI. The framework is empirically tested with data collected by surveying telecom companies in China. Structural equation modeling is applied to analyze the data. The results indicate that compatibility, relative advantage, complexity, managerial support, government involvement, and vendor partnership are significantly related to AI adoption. Managerial capability impacts other organizational capabilities and innovation attributes of AI, but it is indirectly related to AI adoption. Market uncertainty and competitive pressure are not significantly related to AI adoption, but all the external environment factors positively influence managerial capability. The study provides support for firms\u27 decision-making and resource allocation regarding AI adoption. In addition, based on the resource-based view (RBV), this article conducts study 2 which explores the factors that influence the firm sustainable growth. Multiple regression model is applied to empirically test the hypotheses with longitudinal time-series panel data from telecom companies in China. The results indicate that at the firm level, the customer value and operational expenses are significantly related to sustainable growth. Also, at the industry level, industry investment significant impacts sustainable growth. Study 2 provides insights for practitioners the way to keep sustainable growth

Explore the best organizational change model for Chinese state-owned enterprises in the financial service industry to address global challenges

    Get PDF
Chinese state-owned enterprise (SOE) in the financial service industry has reached a tipping point of making changes to address incoming global competition. The unprecedented wave of policy shifts in the market will uncage powerful rivals worldwide and demand the SOEs to change. This study reviewed the best practices and unique challenges to the SOEs in the context of organizational change and strove to explore the best organizational change model for Chinese SOEs in addressing global challenges. This study began by reviewing the background and literature about Chinese SOE development and organizational change, then developed an instrument consisting of critical items derived from the literature view, and last, established a four-step organizational change model based on the merged themes from the critical practices and steps identified through three rounds of the Delphi study. In terms of results, this four-step organizational change model highlights using effective communication to guide and coordinate the whole change process and establishing reliable change coalitions to address unique and persistent resistances to change, such as the iron rice bowl mentality, in Chinese SOEs. Moreover, this model suggests implementing change through clear metrics and goals to track and quantify the progress of planned change, ensure transparency of the change processes, and provide reliable feedback and guidance for leaders and coalition to adjust the change implementation stage accordingly. Furthermore, this change model advocates securing change through appropriate leadership styles to ensure the changed behaviors are safe from regression and ensure the change is institutionalized within the changed organization. With effective communication, reliable coalition, and strong leadership established through implementing this change model, the changed SOEs should be able to keep pace with the fast-changing world, turn challenges into opportunities, and thrive in global competitions

    Russia-China Relations

    Get PDF
This open access book examines Russia-China relations across a variety of civilian and military areas of cooperation. Leading experts in the field present empirical case studies covering a wide range of strategic cooperation areas between Russia and China, such as technological, military, economic and political cooperation. The contributing authors shed new light on Chinese and Russian strategic goals, external push and pull factors, and mutual perception shifts, and discuss the options for Western countries to influence this development. This book analyses the evolution of the relationship since the watershed moment of the Crimean crisis in 2014, and whether or not a full-blown military alliance, as hinted in late 2020 by President Putin, is indeed a realistic scenario for which NATO will have to prepare. It will appeal to students and scholars of international relations, political decision-makers, as well as anyone interested in Eurasian politics and the potential military-strategic impact of a Russian-Chinese alliance for NATO
