The Elgamal Cryptosystem is better than Th RSA Cryptosystem for Mental Poker
Cryptosystems are one of the most important parts of secure online poker card games. However, there is no research comparing the RSA Cryptosystem (RC) and Elgamal Cryptosystem (EC) for mental poker card games. This paper compares the RSA Cryptosystem and Elgamal Cryptosystem implementations of mental poker card games using distributed key generation schemes. Each implementation is based on a joint encryption/decryption of individual cards. Both implementations use shared private key encryption/decryption schemes and neither uses a trusted third party (TTP). The comparison criteria will be concentrated on the security and computational complexity of the game, collusions among the players and the debate between the discrete logarithm problem (DLP) and the factoring problem (FP) for the encryption/decryption schemes. Under these criteria, the comparison results demonstrate that the Elgamal Cryptosystem has better efficiency and effectiveness than RSA for mental poker card games
Efficient TTP-free mental poker protocols
Zhao et al proposed an efficient mental poker protocol which did not require using a Trusted Third Party(TTP). The protocol is efficient and suitable for any number of players but it introduces a security flaw. In this paper, we propose two mental poker protocols based on Zhao\u27s previous work. Provably Secure Experimental Quantum Bit-String Generation
Coin tossing is a cryptographic task in which two parties who do not trust
each other aim to generate a common random bit. Using classical communication
this is impossible, but non trivial coin tossing is possible using quantum
communication. Here we consider the case when the parties do not want to toss a
single coin, but many. This is called bit string generation. We report the
experimental generation of strings of coins which are provably more random than
achievable using classical communication. The experiment is based on the ``plug
and play'' scheme developed for quantum cryptography, and therefore well suited

The Role of Virtual Communities in Gambling and Gaming Behaviors : A Systematic Review
Gambling opportunities are facilitated by the growth of the Internet and social media platforms. Digital games also increasingly include monetary features, such as microtransactions, blurring the line between gambling and gaming. The Internet provides a variety of virtual communities for gamblers and gamers, but comprehensive research on these communities and their relevance in gambling and monetary gaming behaviors remains scarce. This paper summarizes research of online gambling and monetary gaming communities based on a systematic literature review. A systematic literature search was conducted from five databases: Scopus, Web of Science, PsycINFO, Social Science Premium Collection, and EBSCOhost. The search was limited to empirical articles that focused on gambling or gaming involving money and examined online interaction between gamblers or gamers. Preliminary search resulted in 1056 articles, from which 55 were selected for the analyses based on pre-determined criteria. According to results, online communities serve different functions in gambling and gaming behaviors. Gambling communities are typically forums for discussing and sharing gambling experiences, strategies, and tips as well as gambling problems, while gaming communities are inherently embedded inside a game being an essential part of the gaming experience. Identification with virtual communities influences gambling behavior and monetary gaming behavior through mechanisms of perceived norms, social influence, and community feedback. Whereas some gambling communities may provide protection from excessive gambling habits, gaming communities seem to solely motivate gaming behavior and purchase intentions. The role of online communities should be acknowledged in prevention and treatment of gambling and gaming problems.Peer reviewe
Instantaneous Decentralized Poker
We present efficient protocols for amortized secure multiparty computation
with penalties and secure cash distribution, of which poker is a prime example.
Our protocols have an initial phase where the parties interact with a
cryptocurrency network, that then enables them to interact only among
themselves over the course of playing many poker games in which money changes
hands.
The high efficiency of our protocols is achieved by harnessing the power of
stateful contracts. Compared to the limited expressive power of Bitcoin
scripts, stateful contracts enable richer forms of interaction between standard
secure computation and a cryptocurrency.
We formalize the stateful contract model and the security notions that our
protocols accomplish, and provide proofs using the simulation paradigm.
Moreover, we provide a reference implementation in Ethereum/Solidity for the
stateful contracts that our protocols are based on.
We also adopt our off-chain cash distribution protocols to the special case
of stateful duplex micropayment channels, which are of independent interest. In
comparison to Bitcoin based payment channels, our duplex channel implementation
is more efficient and has additional features
