Non Commutativity, Fluctuations and Unification
We point out that in the non commutativity and breakdown of conventional
spacetime at micro scales lies the seed to the unification of gravitation and
electromagnetism.Comment: 10 pages, Te
Observation of Spin Wave Soliton Fractals in Magnetic Film Active Feedback Rings
The manifestation of fractals in soliton dynamics has been observed for the
first time. The experiment utilized self-generated spin wave envelope solitons
in a magnetic film based active feedback ring. At high ring gain, the soliton
that circulates in the ring breathes in a fractal pattern. The corresponding
power frequency spectrum shows a comb structure, with each peak in the comb
having its own comb, and so on, to finer and finer scales.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Issues and Ramifications in Quantized Fractal Space Time: An Interface with Quantum Superstrings
Recently a stochastic underpinning for space time has been considered, what
may be called Quantized Fractal Space Time. This leads us to a number of very
interesting consequences which are testable, and also provides a rationale for
several otherwise inexplicable features in Particle Physics and Cosmology.
These matters are investigated in the present paper.Comment: 27 pages, TeX, This is from the forthcoming book The Chaotic Univers
The Emergence of the Planck Scale
In this paper we first observe some interesting parallels between Planck
scale considerations and elementary particle Compton wavelength scale
considerations, particularly in the context of Wheeler's space time foam and a
space time arising out of a stochastic random heap of elementary particles
discussed in previous papers. These parallels lead to a semi qualitative
picture which shows how the short lived Planck scale arises from the Compton
wavelength considerations.Comment: 9 pages, Te
The Unification of Electromagnetism and Gravitation in the Context of Quantized Fractal Space Time
The attempts to unify electromagnetism and gravitation have included the
formulations of Herman Weyl and the Kaluza Klein theory with the fifth
dimension. More recently there have been fruitful attempts in the domain of
Quantum Superstrings and the author's formulation in terms of Quantum
Mechanical Kerr-Newman Black Holes. Though all these appear to be widely
divergent approaches, they are shown to have a unified underpinning in the
context of quantized fractal space time.Comment: 8 pages, Te
