Improving Knowledge Retrieval in Digital Libraries Applying Intelligent Techniques
Nowadays an enormous quantity of heterogeneous and distributed information is stored in the digital University. Exploring online collections to find knowledge relevant to a user’s interests is a challenging work. The artificial intelligence and Semantic Web provide a common framework that allows knowledge to
be shared and reused in an efficient way. In this work we propose a comprehensive approach for discovering E-learning objects in large digital collections based on analysis of recorded semantic metadata in those objects and the application of expert system technologies. We have used Case Based-Reasoning
methodology to develop a prototype for supporting efficient retrieval knowledge from online repositories.
We suggest a conceptual architecture for a semantic search engine. OntoUS is a collaborative effort that
proposes a new form of interaction between users and digital libraries, where the latter are adapted to users
and their surroundings
Study on characteristics behavior of developing nozzle for aerosol spray
A new generation of aerosol technology are expand rapidly where the
research and development are focused on the analysis of propellants, packaging and
ingredients to make the aerosol has a high performance product. However, there are
a few main problems with pressurised aerosol spray, which are the production of
VOC and the quality of spraying process. Therefore, in this study the development of
an internal nozzle has been investigated to analyse the characterictics of spray by
using CFD simulation. The analysis is focused on various pressure supply up to
9bar, where the n-butane and water are applied as a liquid phases material. The
simulation is done based on two types of selected nozzle design. The result shows
that, the values of velocity, TKE and Reynolds Number for both liquid phases are
increase when the pressure supply increased. It was observed that, when comparing
the two type of nozzle design, it shown that the value of velocity and Reynolds
number is relatively similar for both liquid phases, while the TKE value is more
difference due to the material properties and nozzle design. Therefore, the use of
water is acceptable as an alternative to substitute the n-butane liquid phase in
producing an aerosol spray product
The Bayesian Case Model: A Generative Approach for Case-Based Reasoning and Prototype Classification
We present the Bayesian Case Model (BCM), a general framework for Bayesian
case-based reasoning (CBR) and prototype classification and clustering. BCM
brings the intuitive power of CBR to a Bayesian generative framework. The BCM
learns prototypes, the "quintessential" observations that best represent
clusters in a dataset, by performing joint inference on cluster labels,
prototypes and important features. Simultaneously, BCM pursues sparsity by
learning subspaces, the sets of features that play important roles in the
characterization of the prototypes. The prototype and subspace representation
provides quantitative benefits in interpretability while preserving
classification accuracy. Human subject experiments verify statistically
significant improvements to participants' understanding when using explanations
produced by BCM, compared to those given by prior art.Comment: Published in Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS) 2014,

Cased Based Reasoning to Identify Cause Conflicts in Marriage
The function of KUA in the activities surrounding the religion of Islam, including providing service and guidance in the area of present services in terms of marriage and reconcilement for Muslims, provide services and guidance in the field of development of Sakina, family consultation conflict or household problems, and so on. Integration between the computer and artificial intelligence into the post-wedding consulting services is one approach in overcoming the limitations of the expert (religious instructor). This research aims to identify conflict in marriage by applying Naive Bayes algorithm at the stage of determining the groups of test data (retrieve), then entered the stage of the search process of the highest similarity value by using the Nearest Neighbor algorithm (reuse). The data source and the test data used are divided into two groups, namely marriage, and history data consultation, While the group conflicts are identified will be divided into five classes, namely an employment factor, the factor of age, educational factors, factors the number of weddings, and social status.Testing is performed by the use of 12 data, consisting of 11 data cases and 1 test data. At the stage of determination of group conflict acquired test data included in group one i.e. F001 (factor of the job), so at the stage of looking for value similarities used only the base case of the class F001 i.e. KK001, KK003, and KK008. The KK001 similarity has a value of 0476, KK003 of 0882, and KK008 of 0142. The case with most high similarity value will be stored as a base case. If the value similarity obtained less than the threshold value that is 0.8, then the solution of the case will be revised by experts. The results of the calculation accuracy, using 35 new test data that gets the value of 82.86%

Sherlock Holmes: An expert’s view of expertise
In recent years, there has been an intense research effort to understand the cognitive processes and structures underlying expert behaviour. Work in different fields, including scientific domains, sports, games, and mnemonics, has shown that there are vast differences in perceptual abilities between experts and novices, and that these differences may underpin other cognitive differences in learning, memory, and problem solving. In this article, we evaluate the progress made in the last years through the eyes of an outstanding, albeit fictional, expert: Sherlock Holmes. We first use the Sherlock Holmes character to illustrate expert processes as described by current research and theories. In particular, the role of perception, as well as the nature and influence of expert knowledge, are all present in the description of Conan Doyle’s hero. In the second part of the article, we discuss a number of issues that current research on expertise has barely addressed. These gaps include, for example, several forms of reasoning, the influence of emotions on cognition, and the effect of age on experts’ knowledge and cognitive processes. Thus, although nearly 120 years old, Conan Doyle’s books show remarkable illustrations of expert behaviour, including the coverage of themes that have mostly been overlooked by current research
KNOWLEDGE BASED REASONING ON CLINICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS (CIS): IN-FOCUS OF COMMON & RARE DISEASES SYMPTOM FINDINGS
Technology has put his hand into medical field back in the 70's. Computerized

gathered from books and experts before modeled out into the system. There are 3
main rare diseases that will be diagnosed from the common symptoms by showing
the details and prescription. The system can later on be reproduced or enhanced with
added disease information. Furthermore, the data can be updated with the features
embedded into the system. The prototype is meant be one of the pioneers for another
great invention in the future
Apps-based Machine Translation on Smart Media Devices - A Review
Machine Translation Systems are part of Natural Language Processing (NLP) that makes communication possible among people using their own native language through computer and smart media devices. This paper describes recent progress in language dictionaries and machine translation commonly used for communications and social interaction among people or Internet users worldwide who speak different languages. Problems of accuracy and quality related to computer translation systems encountered in web & Apps-based translation are described and discussed. Possible programming solutions to the problems are also put forward to create software tools that are able to analyze and synthesize language intelligently based on semantic representation of sentences and phrases. Challenges and problems on Apps-based machine translation on smart devices towards AI, NLP, smart learning and understanding still remain until now, and need to be addressed and solved through collaboration between computational linguists and computer scientists
A Cased-Based Reasoning Decision Support System
Each bidding contractors estimates his likely costs of carrying out the work detailed in the project schedules and adds a percentage markup to form the bid value. The value of the markup crucially influences the chances of a bidder winning the contract. Clearly, a low markup value should increases the chance of winning but decrease the profit, whilst a high markup should increase the profit but decrease the chance of winning the contract. It is very difficult for contractors to decide a proper markup, which happens to produce a satisfactory balance between the probability of winning the contract and the profit generated as a result of winning the contract. This paper presents a case-based reasoning decision support system (CBR-DSS) that assists contractors in solving markup estimation problem. The CRR-DSS uses successful cases of previous completed projects to derive solution to new project markup estimation problem. The principle of the CBR-DSS is to analogy new project with previous projects.
