Adaptive observers-based synchronization of a class of lur'e systems under transmission delays

    No full text
In revision, submitted to Int. J. Control Theory and ApplicationsWe propose an adaptive observers-based synchronization approach for a class of chaotic Lur'e systems with slope-restricted nonlinearities and uncertain parameters, under transmission time-delays. The delay is assumed to be bounded and time varying and the uncertain parameters are assumed to be piece-wise constant. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii approach, we show that for sufficiently short time-delays, master-slave synchronization is achieved and therefore, the uncertain parameters may be recovered. Then, the proposed approach is extended to the case of long constant time-delays by proposing a synchronization scheme based on cascade observers. Theoretical results are illustrated via two numerical examples

Adaptive state estimation for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with output time-delays

International audienceIn this paper, we propose an adaptive observer for nonlinear systems with slope restricted nonlinearities, unknown parameters and delayed outputs. The delay is assumed constant and the unknown parameter is assumed piece-wise constant. Based on the Lyapunov-krasovskii approach, we show that, for sufficiently small values of the time-delay, both state estimation and parametric convergence are ensured under a condition of persistent excitation. The result is illustrated via two numerical examples

Reduction of discrete-time two-channel delayed systems

In this letter, the reduction method is extended to time-delay systems affected by two mismatched input delays. To this end, the intrinsic feedback structure of the retarded dynamics is exploited to deduce a reduced dynamics which is free of delays. Moreover, among other possibilities, an Immersion and Invariance feedback over the reduced dynamics is designed for achieving stabilization of the original systems. A chained sampled-data dynamics is used to show the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy through simulations

    Robust Control

The need to be tolerant to changes in the control systems or in the operational environment of systems subject to unknown disturbances has generated new control methods that are able to deal with the non-parametrized disturbances of systems, without adapting itself to the system uncertainty but rather providing stability in the presence of errors bound in a model. With this approach in mind and with the intention to exemplify robust control applications, this book includes selected chapters that describe models of H-infinity loop, robust stability and uncertainty, among others. Each robust control method and model discussed in this book is illustrated by a relevant example that serves as an overview of the theoretical and practical method in robust control

Finite element-based observer design for nonlinear systems with delayed measurements

summary:This paper presents a computational procedure for the design of an observer of a nonlinear system. Outputs can be delayed, however, this delay must be known and constant. The characteristic feature of the design procedure is computation of a solution of a partial differential equation. This equation is solved using the finite element method. Conditions under which existence of a solution is guaranteed are derived. These are formulated by means of theory of partial differential equations in L2L^2-space. Three examples demonstrate viability of this approach and provide a comparison with the solution method based on expansions into Taylor polynomials
