Human Capital in the Knowledge Economy : A 3-Country Case Study in Healthcare
During the present knowledge economy there appear to be labor shortages at the same time and in the same regions in which there is an excess of labor supply. Such a pattern would run counter to previous major economic disruptions, as well as questioning traditional free market economic theory of supply and demand principles. Implications for policy where there are global labor shortages along with surplus labor availability in a market economy, are significant. It will likely indicate a drag on economic growth for business sectors, for regions and perhaps globally. It would indicate an accompanying growing disparity of income. Work is important, if not central to human well-being. Changes to economic thinking, and to economic growth pertaining to work and the labor force, would change the way we look at the world. Labor market change would be a warning that political and social response is needed to address the imbalance of supply and demand. A labor supply gap is researched in healthcare occupations for India, Poland, and the U.S for a global perspective and to suggest policy implications
Technology and Management Applied in Construction Engineering Projects
This book focuses on fundamental and applied research on construction project management. It presents research papers and practice-oriented papers. The execution of construction projects is specific and particularly difficult because each implementation is a unique, complex, and dynamic process that consists of several or more subprocesses that are related to each other, in which various aspects of the investment process participate. Тhe benefits of an additional practice in descriptive geometry course: non obligatory workshop at the Faculty of civil engineering in Belgrade
At the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade, in the Descriptive geometry (DG) course, non-obligatory workshops named “facultative task” are held for the three generations of freshman students with the aim to give students the opportunity to get higher final grade on the exam. The content of this workshop was a creative task, performed by a group of three students, offering free choice of a topic, i.e. the geometric structure associated with some real or imagery architectural/art-work object.
After the workshops a questionnaire (composed by the professors at the course) is given to the students, in order to get their response on teaching/learning materials for the DG course and the workshop. During the workshop students performed one of the common tests for testing spatial abilities, named “paper folding".
Based on the results of the questionnairethe investigation of the linkages between:students’ final achievements and spatial abilities, as well as students’ expectations of their performance on the exam, and how the students’ capacity to correctly estimate their grades were associated with expected and final grades, is provided. The goal was to give an evidence that a creative work, performed by a small group of students and self-assessment of their performances are a good way of helping students to maintain motivation and to accomplish their achievement.
The final conclusion is addressed to the benefits of additional workshops employment in the course, which confirmhigherfinal scores-grades, achievement of creative results (facultative tasks) and confirmation of DG knowledge adaption
Vehicle and Traffic Safety
The book is devoted to contemporary issues regarding the safety of motor vehicles and road traffic. It presents the achievements of scientists, specialists, and industry representatives in the following selected areas of road transport safety and automotive engineering: active and passive vehicle safety, vehicle dynamics and stability, testing of vehicles (and their assemblies), including electric cars as well as autonomous vehicles. Selected issues from the area of accident analysis and reconstruction are discussed. The impact on road safety of aspects such as traffic control systems, road infrastructure, and human factors is also considered

From Preface:
This is the fourteenth time when the conference “Dynamical Systems: Theory
and Applications” gathers a numerous group of outstanding scientists and engineers, who
deal with widely understood problems of theoretical and applied dynamics.
Organization of the conference would not have been possible without a great effort of
the staff of the Department of Automation, Biomechanics and Mechatronics. The patronage
over the conference has been taken by the Committee of Mechanics of the Polish Academy
of Sciences and Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland.
It is a great pleasure that our invitation has been accepted by recording in the history
of our conference number of people, including good colleagues and friends as well as a large
group of researchers and scientists, who decided to participate in the conference for the
first time. With proud and satisfaction we welcomed over 180 persons from 31 countries all
over the world. They decided to share the results of their research and many years
experiences in a discipline of dynamical systems by submitting many very interesting
papers.
This year, the DSTA Conference Proceedings were split into three volumes entitled
“Dynamical Systems” with respective subtitles: Vibration, Control and Stability of Dynamical
Systems; Mathematical and Numerical Aspects of Dynamical System Analysis and
Engineering Dynamics and Life Sciences. Additionally, there will be also published two
volumes of Springer Proceedings in Mathematics and Statistics entitled “Dynamical Systems
in Theoretical Perspective” and “Dynamical Systems in Applications”

This open access book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the First IFIP International Cross-Domain Conference on Internet of Things, IFIPIoT 2018, held at the 24th IFIP World Computer Congress, WCC 2018, in Poznan, Poland, in September 2018. The 12 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 24 submissions. Also included in this volume are 4 WCC 2018 plenary contributions, an invited talk and a position paper from the IFIP domain committee on IoT.
