Automatic Record Reviews
Record reviews provide a unique and focused source of linguistic data that can be related to musical recordings, to provide a basis for computational music understanding systems with applications in similarity, recommendation and classification. We analyze a large testbed of music and a corpus of reviews for each work to uncover patterns and develop mechanisms for removing reviewer bias and extraneous non-musical discussion. By building upon work in grounding free text against audio signals we invent an "automatic record review" system that labels new music audio with maximal semantic value for future retrieval tasks. In effect, we grow an unbiased music editor trained from the consensus of the online reviews we have gathered
IA-Regional-Radio - social network for radio recommendation
International audienceThis chapter describes the functions of a system proposed for the music hit recommendation from social network data base. This system carries out the automatic collection, evaluation and rating of music reviewers, the possibility for listeners to rate musical hits and recommendations deduced from auditor's pro les in the form of regional internet radio. First, the system searches and retrieves probable music reviews from the Internet. Subsequently, the system carries out an evaluation and rating of those reviews. From this list of music hits the system directly allows notation from our application. Finally the system automatically create the record list di used each day depended form the region, the year season, day hours and age of listeners. Our system uses linguistics and statistic methods for classifying music opinions and data mining techniques for recommendation part needed for recorded list creation. The principal task is the creation of popular intelligent radio adaptive on auditor's age and region - IA-Regional-Radio
Social Network - An autonomous system designed for radio recommendation.
International audienceThis paper describes the functions of a system proposed for the music tube recommendation from social network data base. Such a system enables the automatic collection, evaluation and rating of music critics, the possibility to rate music tube by auditors and the recommendation of tubes depended from auditor's pro les in form of regional internet radio. First, the system searches and retrieves probable music reviews from the Internet. Subsequently, the system carries out an evaluation and rating of those reviews. From this list of music tubes the system directly allows notation from our application. Finally the system automatically create the record list di used each day depended form the region, the year season, day hours and age of listeners. Cognitive Experiential Group Therapy: An Innovative Blending of Two Therapeutic Modalities Integrating CBT with Experiential Theory and Practice. A Group Therapy Workbook, by Treadwell, T. W., With Dartnell, D. J., Travaglini, L.E., and Abeditehrani (book review)
The book includes seven chapters, the first being a brief introduction and overview of what the book is about. The second chapter reviews the basic elements of CBT (notions of cognitive distortions, schemas, automatic thoughts, core beliefs, and types of behavioral interventions). Chapter three does the same for psychodrama. Chapter four covers the basic elements of running an experiential group therapy session using both CBT and psychodrama techniques. Chapter five provides a detailed illustration of a cognitive experiential group treatment (CEGT) session. Chapter six is devoted to running CEGT sessions with adolescents, and the last chapter details the CEGT approach to treating patients with social anxiety disorder, followed by references and two appendices. Appendix A contains a ready reference list of cognitive distortions, and Appendix B contains various forms/worksheets for use by both patients and therapists in running therapy groups; these include the automatic thought record (ATR) cognitive conceptualization diagram, activity scheduling and monitoring worksheet, goal-setting worksheets, graded exposure, fear hierarchy, homework plan, social atom, exploring the maze of life, capture your thoughts, and cognitive restructuring practice form
Core Services in the Architecture of the National Digital Library for Science Education (NSDL)
We describe the core components of the architecture for the (NSDL) National
Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology Education Digital Library.
Over time the NSDL will include heterogeneous users, content, and services. To
accommodate this, a design for a technical and organization infrastructure has
been formulated based on the notion of a spectrum of interoperability. This
paper describes the first phase of the interoperability infrastructure
including the metadata repository, search and discovery services, rights
management services, and user interface portal facilities
Transit Performance Measures in California
This research is the result of a California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) request to assess the most commonly available transit performance measures in California. Caltrans wanted to understand performance measures and data used by Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and transit agencies to help it develop statewide measures. This report serves as a summary reference guide to help Caltrans understand the numerous and diverse performance measures used by MPOs and transit agencies in California. First, investigators review the available literature to identify a complete transit performance framework for the purposes of organizing agency measures, metrics, and data sources. Next, they review the latest transit performance measures documented in planning reports for the four largest MPOs in California (San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Sacramento). Researchers pay special attention to the transit performance measures used by these MPOs, because these measures are available for the majority of California’s population. Finally, investigators summarize 231 performance measures used by a total 26 local transit agencies in the State of California, based on transit planning documents available on the internet
Policy and Practice Brief: The Transition from Disability Benefits to Retirement Benefits
The transition from being considered a “person with a disability” to a “retired individual” is becoming an increasingly important issue worth more study. This brief focuses on this pivotal transition in a person’s life and discusses issues for BPA&O and PABSS practitioners
