    Effect of nano black rice husk ash on the chemical and physical properties of porous concrete pavement

    Black rice husk is a waste from this agriculture industry. It has been found that majority inorganic element in rice husk is silica. In this study, the effect of Nano from black rice husk ash (BRHA) on the chemical and physical properties of concrete pavement was investigated. The BRHA produced from uncontrolled burning at rice factory was taken. It was then been ground using laboratory mill with steel balls and steel rods. Four different grinding grades of BRHA were examined. A rice husk ash dosage of 10% by weight of binder was used throughout the experiments. The chemical and physical properties of the Nano BRHA mixtures were evaluated using fineness test, X-ray Fluorescence spectrometer (XRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). In addition, the compressive strength test was used to evaluate the performance of porous concrete pavement. Generally, the results show that the optimum grinding time was 63 hours. The result also indicated that the use of Nano black rice husk ash ground for 63hours produced concrete with good strengt

    In the medical field, the diagnosing of cardiovascular disease is that the most troublesome task. The diagnosis of heart disease is difficult as a decision relied on grouping of large clinical and pathological data. Due to this complication, the interest increased in a very vital quantity between the researchers and clinical professionals regarding the economical and correct heart disease prediction. In case of heart disease, the correct diagnosis in early stage is important as time is the very important factor. Heart disease is the principal supply of deaths widespread, and the prediction of Heart Disease is significant at an untimely phase. Machine learning in recent years has been the evolving, reliable and supporting tools in medical domain and has provided the best support for predicting disease with correct case of training and testing. The main idea behind this work is to find relevant heart disease feature among the large number of feature using rough computational Intelligence approach. The proposed feature selection approach performance is better than traditional feature selection approaches. The performances of the rough computation approach is tested with different heart disease data sets and validated with real-time data sets

    MonetDB/XQuery: a fast XQuery processor powered by a relational engine

    Relational XQuery systems try to re-use mature relational data management infrastructures to create fast and scalable XML database technology. This paper describes the main features, key contributions, and lessons learned while implementing such a system. Its architecture consists of (i) a range-based encoding of XML documents into relational tables, (ii) a compilation technique that translates XQuery into a basic relational algebra, (iii) a restricted (order) property-aware peephole relational query optimization strategy, and (iv) a mapping from XML update statements into relational updates. Thus, this system implements all essential XML database functionalities (rather than a single feature) such that we can learn from the full consequences of our architectural decisions. While implementing this system, we had to extend the state-of-the-art with a number of new technical contributions, such as loop-lifted staircase join and efficient relational query evaluation strategies for XQuery theta-joins with existential semantics. These contributions as well as the architectural lessons learned are also deemed valuable for other relational back-end engines. The performance and scalability of the resulting system is evaluated on the XMark benchmark up to data sizes of 11GB. The performance section also provides an extensive benchmark comparison of all major XMark results published previously, which confirm that the goal of purely relational XQuery processing, namely speed and scalability, was met

    Rough set methodology in meta-analysis - a comparative and exploratory analysis

    We study the applicability of the pattern recognition methodology "rough set data analysis" (RSDA) in the field of meta analysis. We give a summary of the mathematical and statistical background and then proceed to an application of the theory to a meta analysis of empirical studies dealing with the deterrent effect introduced by Becker and Ehrlich. Results are compared with a previously devised meta regression analysis. We find that the RSDA can be used to discover information overlooked by other methods, to preprocess the data for further studying and to strengthen results previously found by other methods.Rough Data Set, RSDA, Meta Analysis, Data Mining, Pattern Recognition, Deterrence, Criminometrics
