    Methodological Approaches to Modeling Information Architecture of the Organization in the Conditions of Digital Economy

    It is significant for businesses, especially in the digital economy, the solution of theoretical and methodological justifications and the development of practical recommendations for building an organization\u27s information architecture as a holistic description of its key strategies, related to business, information, application systems and technologies, and also their impact on the functions and business processes of an organization. The article discusses issues, related to methodological approaches to modeling an organization\u27s information architectureŠ± using information management tools to help manage innovation in information systems (IS) and information technologies (IT). The relevance of organizational provisions to determine the way, in which a business entity\u27s business model is functionally integrated with the IS architecture is substantiated. The consideration and analysis of the use of industrial standards for describing the architecture of an organization, adopted by such institutions as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), The Open Group, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), etc. reveal that none of these standards is dominant and does not provide teams, responsible for the architecture development with all the tools, necessary from the methodological point of view and from the point of view of the templates, used to describe the architecture. Recommendations are given on the theoretical and methodological substantiation and construction of the information architecture of an organization as a complete description of its key strategies related to business, information, application systems and technologies, as well as their impact on the functions and business processes of an organization

    In this paper we present an initial overview of shamash, a process modeling tool for Business Process Reengineering. The main features that differentiate it from most current related tools are its ability to define and use organisation standards, and functional structure, and make automatic model simulation and optimisation of them. shamash is a knowledge based system, and we include a discussion on how knowledge acquisition did take place.     Ubiquitous web services

    Ubiquitous coming from the Latin word ubique, means existing or being everywhere, especially at the same time. Web Services are loosely specified and coupled components distributed over the internet [23] with the purpose of being accessed and used ubiquitously by suppliers, customers, business and trading partners. This must be done independently of any tools or environment in use by any party involved. The basic service oriented architecture is based on the publishing of a service by a service provider, the location of a service by a service requestor and the interaction between the two based on the service description. The necessary functionality for the full adoption of such web services must include routing, reliable messaging, security, transactions, binary attachments, work- flow, negotiation and management, web services description languages, choreography, orchestration and non-repudiation. A large number of companies and organizations are promoting this adoption and shifting their strategy to include this useful technology. A multitude of proposed standards and products have emerged in an attempt to meet the needs of this worldwide community of web services adopters. The core established standards include the Web Services Description Language (WSDL), the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and the Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI). The Web services Inspection Language (WSIL) is a more lightweight yet complimentary specification for service discovery[1]. Other definitions produced to tackle the re- quired functions have not been fully standardized and many are still competing. For the needed functionality to be produced a number of related issues must be tackled. Here we look at some of the important ones, and how they are being tackled, we then shortly describe our proposed project and related works.peer-reviewe

    Recent developments in Web technologies ā€“ in particular through the Web services framework ā€“ have greatly enhanced the flexible and interoperable implementation of service-oriented software architectures. Many older Web-based and other distributed software systems will be re-engineered to a Web services-oriented platform. Using an advanced e-learning system as our case study, we investigate central aspects of a re-engineering approach for the Web services platform. Since our aim is to provide components of the legacy system also as services in the new platform, re-engineering to suit the new development paradigm is as important as re-engineering to suit the new architectural requirements

Interoperability requires standard data models and communication encoding technologies compatible with the existing Internet infrastructure. To reduce vendor lock-in situations, cloud computing must implement universal strategies regarding standards, interoperability and portability. Open standards are of critical importance and need to be embedded into interoperability solutions. Interoperability is determined at the data level as well as the service level.     The essence of cloud computing is the provision of software and hardware services to a range of users in dierent locations. The aim of cloud service localisation is to facilitate the internationalisation and localisation of cloud services by allowing their adaption to dierent locales. We address the lingual localisation by providing service-level language translation techniques to adopt services to dierent languages and regulatory localisation by providing standards-based mappings to achieve regulatory compliance with regionally varying laws, standards and regulations. The aim is to support and enforce the explicit modelling of aspects particularly relevant to localisation and runtime support consisting of tools and middleware services to automating the deployment based on models of locales, driven by the two localisation dimensions. We focus here on an ontology-based conceptual information model that integrates locale specication in a coherent way

    Approaches to Semantic Web Services: An Overview and Comparison

    Abstract. The next Web generation promises to deliver Semantic Web Services (SWS); services that are self-described and amenable to automated discovery, composition and invocation. A prerequisite to this, however, is the emergence and evolution of the Semantic Web, which provides the infrastructure for the semantic interoperability of Web Services. Web Services will be augmented with rich formal descriptions of their capabilities, such that they can be utilized by applications or other services without human assistance or highly constrained agreements on interfaces or protocols. Thus, Semantic Web Services have the potential to change the way knowledge and business services are consumed and provided on the Web. In this paper, we survey the state of the art of current enabling technologies for Semantic Web Services. In addition, we characterize the infrastructure of Semantic Web Services along three orthogonal dimensions: activities, architecture and service ontology. Further, we examine and contrast three current approaches to SWS according to the proposed dimensions
