Pythagorean fuzzy combinative distance-based assessment with pure linguistic information and its application to financial strategies of multi-national companies
This article addresses the issue of selecting Financial Strategies in
Multi-National companies (F.S.M.). The F.S.M. typically has to consider
multiple factors involving multiple stakeholders and, hence,
can be handled by applying an appropriate Multi-Criteria Group
Decision-Making (M.C.G.D.M.) approach. To address this issue, we
develop an M.C.G.D.M. framework to tackle the F.S.M. problem. To
handle inherent uncertainty in business decisions as reflected by
linguistic reasoning, we embark on constructing a Linguistic
Pythagorean Fuzzy (L.P.F.) M.C.G.D.M. framework that is capable
of tackling both uncertain decision information and linguistic variables.
The proposed approach extends the combinative distancebased
assessment (C.O.D.A.S.) method into the L.P.F. environment,
and processes decision input expressed as Pythagorean fuzzy sets
(P.F.S.) and pure linguistic variables (rather than converting linguistic
information into fuzzy numbers). The developed L.P.F.-
C.O.D.A.S. technique aggregates the L.P.F. information and is
applied to the F.S.M. problem with uncertain linguistic information.
A comparative analysis is carried out to compare the results
obtained from the proposed L.P.F.-C.O.D.A.S. approach with those
from other extensions of C.O.D.A.S. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis
is conducted to check the impact of changes in a distance
threshold parameter on the ranking results
VIKOR Technique:A Systematic Review of the State of the Art Literature on Methodologies and Applications
The main objective of this paper is to present a systematic review of the VlseKriterijuska Optimizacija I Komoromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method in several application areas such as sustainability and renewable energy. This study reviewed a total of 176 papers, published in 2004 to 2015, from 83 high-ranking journals; most of which were related to Operational Research, Management Sciences, decision making, sustainability and renewable energy and were extracted from the “Web of Science and Scopus” databases. Papers were classified into 15 main application areas. Furthermore, papers were categorized based on the nationalities of authors, dates of publications, techniques and methods, type of studies, the names of the journals and studies purposes. The results of this study indicated that more papers on VIKOR technique were published in 2013 than in any other year. In addition, 13 papers were published about sustainability and renewable energy fields. Furthermore, VIKOR and fuzzy VIKOR methods, had the first rank in use. Additionally, the Journal of Expert Systems with Applications was the most significant journal in this study, with 27 publications on the topic. Finally, Taiwan had the first rank from 22 nationalities which used VIKOR technique
Evaluating strategies for implementing industry 4.0: a hybrid expert oriented approach of B.W.M. and interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy T.O.D.I.M.
open access articleDeveloping and accepting industry 4.0 influences the industry structure and customer willingness. To a successful transition to industry 4.0, implementation strategies should be selected with a systematic and comprehensive view to responding to the changes flexibly. This research aims to identify and prioritise the strategies for implementing industry 4.0. For this purpose, at first, evaluation attributes of strategies and also strategies to put industry 4.0 in practice are recognised. Then, the attributes are weighted to the experts’ opinion by using the Best Worst Method (BWM). Subsequently, the strategies for implementing industry 4.0 in Fara-Sanat Company, as a case study, have been ranked based on the Interval Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy (IVIF) of the TODIM method. The results indicated that the attributes of ‘Technology’, ‘Quality’, and ‘Operation’ have respectively the highest importance. Furthermore, the strategies for “new business models development’, ‘Improving information systems’ and ‘Human resource management’ received a higher rank. Eventually, some research and executive recommendations are provided. Having strategies for implementing industry 4.0 is a very important solution. Accordingly, multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods are a useful tool for adopting and selecting appropriate strategies. In this research, a novel and hybrid combination of BWM-TODIM is presented under IVIF information
An overview of fuzzy multi-criteria decisionmaking methods in hospitality and tourism industries: bibliometrics, methodologies, applications and future directions
Stakeholders in hospitality and tourism industries are involved in
many decision-making scenarios. Multi-criteria decision-making
(MCDM) methods have been widely used in hospitality and tourism
industries. Although some articles summarised the applications of
MCDM models in hospitality and tourism industries, they ignored the
fuzziness of individual cognition in an uncertain environment. In addition,
these surveys lacked a comprehensive overview from the perspective
of bibliometrics analysis and content analysis regarding the
whole hospitality and tourism industries. To analyse the applications
of fuzzy MCDM methods in hospitality and tourism industries and
further explore future research directions, this article reviews 85
selected papers published from 1997 to 2022 regarding fuzzy MCDM
models applied in hospitality and tourism industries. Through analysing
the results of bibliometric analysis, methodologies and applications,
we found that analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and TOPSIS
methods are the most widely used MCDM methods, and tourism
evaluation, hotel evaluation and selection, tourism destination evaluation
and selection are the most attractive research issues in hospitality
and tourism industries. Finally, future research directions are
proposed from three aspects. This article provides insights for
researchers and practitioners who have interest in fuzzy MCDM models
in hospitality and tourism industries
Sustainability performance assessment with intuitionistic fuzzy composite metrics and its application to the motor industry
The performance assessment of companies in terms of sustainability requires to find a balance between multiple and possibly conflicting criteria. We here rely on composite metrics to rank a set of companies within an industry considering environmental, social and corporate governance criteria. To this end, we connect intuitionistic fuzzy sets and composite programming to propose novel composite metrics. These metrics allow to integrate important environmental, social and governance principles with the gradual membership functions of fuzzy set theory. The main result of this paper is a sustainability assessment method to rank companies within a given industry. In addition to consider multiple objectives, this method integrates two important social principles such as maximum utility and fairness. A real-world example is provided to describe the application of our sustainability assessment method within the motor industry. A further contribution of this paper is a multicriteria generalization of the concept of magnitude of a fuzzy number
ASSESSMENT OF SUSTAINABLE WASTEWATER TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES USING INTERVAL-VALUED INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY DISTANCE MEASURE-BASED MAIRCA METHOD
Effective wastewater treatment has significant effects on saving water and preventing unnecessary water scarcity. An appropriate wastewater treatment technology (WWTT) brings economic benefits through reuse in different sectors and benefits the society and environment. This study aims to develop a decision-making framework for evaluating the sustainable WWTTs under interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) environment. The proposed MCDM framework is divided into two stages. First, a new Hellinger distance measure is developed to determine the degree of difference between IVIFSs and also discussed its desirable characteristics. Second, an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy extension of multi-attribute ideal-real comparative analysis (MAIRCA) model is developed using the proposed Hellinger distance measure-based weighting tool. Further, the proposed model is implemented on an empirical study of sustainable WWTTs evaluation problem. Sensitivity and comparative studies are made. The results indicate that odor impacts, sludge production, maintenance and operation are the most effective sustainable factors and Microbial fuel cell (MFC) technology is the best WWTT followed by natural treatment methods
Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power aggregation operators in multiple attribute decision making
In this paper, we investigate the multiple attribute decision making
problems with Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic information.
Then, we utilize power average and power geometric operations
to develop some Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power aggregation
operators: Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power weighted
average (P2TLPWA) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power
weighted geometric (P2TLPWG) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic
power ordered weighted average (P2TLPOWA) operator,
Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power ordered weighted geometric
(P2TLPOWG) operator, Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic power
hybrid average (P2TLPHA) operator and Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic
power hybrid geometric (P2TLPHG) operator. The prominent
characteristic of these proposed operators are studied. Then,
we have utilized these operators to develop some approaches to
solve the Pythagorean 2-tuple linguistic multiple attribute decision
making problems. Finally, a practical example for enterprise
resource planning (ERP) system selection is given to verify the
developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and
effectiveness
CODAS method for 2-tuple linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy multiple attribute group decision making and its application to financial management performance assessment
Financial management performance evaluation (FMPE) has a significant effect on the identifying an investment chance. We can usually consider FMPE as a multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) issue, and the MAGDM method is needed to address it. Uncertainty may be one of the significant factors which could influence the process of MAGDM. In order to handle the uncertainty of group decision-making issues, MAGDM approaches along with 2-tuple linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy sets (2TLPFSs) have been designed. In this essay, CODAS method is extended to 2TLPFSs to tackle MAGDM issues. Linguistic variables and 2TLPFSs are also used to extend the CODAS method. An application of the presented 2-tuple linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy CODAS (2TLPF-CODAS) method to a case study of FMPE problem with 2-tuple linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy numbers (2TLPFNs) is given. To confirm the results, a comparative analysis between the fuzzy CODAS and 2TLPF-TODIM is performed. The results of the comparison illustrate that the presented 2TLPF-CODAS method offers effective and steady results
