    Patterns of Authorship and Scientific Collaboration in Education: The Production of Colombia in ESCI

    This paper aims to carry out a bibliometric study on the scientific production on Education that occurs in Colombia and it is indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) database. To carry out this study, the data related to the documents indexed in the ESCI database of WoS were downloaded and, by counting frequencies, the patterns of document production by journal and by year, the most productive institutions, the indicators of collaboration in authorship and the type of collaboration were identified. An increase in co-authorship and collaboration rates, as well as in international collaboration was detected for the examined period. The public universities were identified as the leading generators of scientific production in Education in Colombia. Likewise, the Bradford’s core of zones of dispersion of literature in the topic was identified, and it was found that more than 90% of these are journals edited by universities. The production of Colombia in Education has experienced a considerable increase in the period from 2005 to 2019. Although the collaboration rates have increased and are similar to those observed for example in Education in Spain, they are still lower than those of Social Sciences in Colombia

    El propósito de esta investigación es realizar un estudio bibliométrico centrado en la producción científica sobre Educación Matemática que se produce en Iberoamérica y que está indexada en la base de datos de la Web of Science (WoS) en el periodo 2000 a 2020. Para llevar a cabo este estudio, se descargaron de la base de datos de WoS los relativos a los documentos indexados y, a partir del recuento de frecuencias, se han identificado los patrones de producción de documentos por año e idioma, así como las instituciones más productivas. Se halló un incremento en la coautoría y el grado de colaboración. se identificó el núcleo de las zonas Bradford de dispersión de la literatura en la temática hallándose que está conformado por tres revistas dos de ellas editadas en la región iberoamericana.The objective of this research is to carry out a bibliometric study of the scientific production on Mathematics Education produced in Ibero-America and indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database in the period between 2000-2020. To carry out this study, the data pertaining to the indexed documents was downloaded from the WoS database. Based on the frequency count, patterns such as document production by year and language were identified, as well as the most productive institutions. An increase in co-authorship and an increase of the degree of collaboration between authors was found. Bradford distribution was also calculated for this subject. It was found to be made up of three journals, two of which are published in the Ibero-American region
