Introduction of BIM methodology in education: Concept and application

[EN] Teaching Civil Engineering and Architecture requires a permanent updating of knowledge concerning procedures and technologies used in Construction industry. In this sense, the school should seek to adapt its curriculum to include innovative issues to support a better construction. The methodology Building Information Modelling (BIM), involving the concept of information centralized in a unique geometric model and of collaboration of all participants in a project, is strongly supported in advanced technology. An important role of teaching is to organize actions to promote the insertion of new issues in school. The text presents several examples of BIM applications developed by students in the context of MSc researches. Some topics are described in detail: 4D Model for construction planning based on BIM technology; Coordination of construction project based on BIM methodology; Conflict analysis based in an architectural BIM model. The objective is to add competitive skills in the training of future architects and civil engineers.http://ocs.editorial.upv.es/index.php/HEAD/HEAD18Sampaio, AZ. (2018). From service-oriented architecture to service-oriented enterprise

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) was originally motivated by enterprise demands for better business-technology alignment and higher flexibility and reuse. SOA evolved from an initial set of ideas and principles to Web services (WS) standards now widely accepted by industry. The next phase of SOA development is concerned with a scalable, reliable and secure infrastructure based on these standards, and guidelines, methods and techniques for developing and maintaining service delivery in dynamic enterprise settings. In this paper we discuss the principles and main elements of SOA. We then present an overview of WS standards. And finally we come back to the original motivation for SOA, and how these can be realized

    Characterizing traits of coordination

How can one recognize coordination languages and technologies? As this report shows, the common approach that contrasts coordination with computation is intellectually unsound: depending on the selected understanding of the word "computation", it either captures too many or too few programming languages. Instead, we argue for objective criteria that can be used to evaluate how well programming technologies offer coordination services. Of the various criteria commonly used in this community, we are able to isolate three that are strongly characterizing: black-box componentization, which we had identified previously, but also interface extensibility and customizability of run-time optimization goals. These criteria are well matched by Intel's Concurrent Collections and AstraKahn, and also by OpenCL, POSIX and VMWare ESX.Comment: 11 pages, 3 table

Technology of different shapes have got much race from 1960 to present. In 1970, the computer technology brought lots of faster modes of business when the faster calculations and saving data became possible. It further innovated the big information systems after 1985 when the manual work started to be converted into computerized means as computer based information systems. But one advent brought various solutions to the business and that is the miraculous advent of internet after 1992. An internet is one of the biggest emerging Ecom technology which has facilitated the business platform in much faster and flexible standards. Due to the technology the business is advanced at an exponential rate of making life very easy and guiding to be equipped with other technological wonders of not only doing business but increasing education activities, knowledge and coordination through organization to organization and customers to customers. The purpose of this paper is to identify emerging e-com technologies and get a sneak peak into internet and information literacy related technologies which will pull ecom any time to millions of people and push business to survive on modern business platforms. The study will focus on emerging e-com technologies that have emerged through the last decade or so. It will also focus on the current and possible applications and factors of important view which have brought significant role in business scenario. The paper consists of five main sections: First is about the introduction, concept and definitions of the topic, Second is regarding the historical perspective of emerging technologies and identification of e-com emerging technologies and their changing phase in the faster pace of information technology and business aspects, Third focuses on the model of e-com and computer technology development. Fourth is about some examples on applications of emerging e-com technologies from available literature survey to support this research, Fifth is followed by the conclusions, recommendations, research methodology, references and bibliograph
