    Contribution to the Artifical Neural Network Speed Estimator in a Degraded Mode for Sensor-Less Fuzzy Direct Control of Torque Application Using Dual Stars Induction Machine

    Recently one of the major topic of research is the involvement of the intelligence artificial in the control system. This paper deals with application of a new combination between two-control strategy known as fuzzy direct control of torque and then an adaptive Neuronal Speed estimator utilizing dual starts induction motor. The research discussed consist to replace the switching table used in the conventional direct control method and adaptive mechanism of the classic MRAS estimator with fuzzy controller and new neural network accordingly, both strategies can manage the degraded and normal modes. The neural networks used are the back-propagation, to reduce the training patterns and increase the execution speed of the training process. As results we achieved can be summarised as follows: 1) high degree of reliability of speed estimation even with using only one start voltages and currents and parameters; 2) Minimization of the torque and flux ripples; and                3) Minimization of the current total harmonic distortion

    Three-Phase Induction Motor Speed Estimation Using Recurrent Neural Network

    In induction motor speed control method, the development of the field-oriented control (FOC) algorithm which can control torque and flux separately enables the motor to replace many roles of DC motors. Induction motor speed control can be done by using a close loop system which requires a speed sensor. Referring to the speed sensor weaknesses such as less accurate of the measurement, this is due to the placement of the sensor system that is too far from the control system. Therefore, a speed sensorless method was developed which has various advantages. In this study, the speed sensorless method using an artificial neural network with recurrent neural network (RNN) as speed observer on three-phase induction motor has been discussed. The RNN can maintain steady-state conditions against a well-defined set point speed, so that the observer is able and will be suitable if applied as input control for the motor drives. In this work, the RNN has successfully estimated the rotor flux of the induction motor in MATLAB R2019a simulation as about 0.0004Wb. As based on speed estimation error, the estimator used has produced at about 26.77%, 8.7% and 6.1% for 150rad/s, 200rad/s and 250rad/s respectively. The future work can be developed and improved by creating a prototype system of the induction motor to get more accurate results in real-time of the proposed RNN observer

    Artificial Neuron-Based Model for a Hybrid Real-Time System: Induction Motor Case Study

    Automatic Machine Learning (AML) methods are currently considered of great interest for use in the development of cyber-physical systems. However, in practice, they present serious application problems with respect to fitness computation, overfitting, lack of scalability, and the need for an enormous amount of time for the computation of neural network hyperparameters. In this work, we have experimentally investigated the impact of continuous updating and validation of the hyperparameters, on the performance of a cyber-physical model, with four estimators based on feedforward and narx ANNs, all with the gradient descent-based optimization technique. The main objective is to demonstrate that the optimized values of the hyperparameters can be validated by simulation with MATLAB/Simulink following a mixed approach based on interleaving the updates of their values with a classical training of the ANNs without affecting their efficiency and automaticity of the proposed method. For the two relevant variables of an Induction Motor (IM), two sets of estimators have been trained from the input current and voltage data. In contrast, the training data for the speed and output electromagnetic torque of the IM have been established with the help of a new Simulink model developed entirely.     Observation of charge ordering signal in monovalent doped Nd0.75Na0.25-xKxMn1O3 (0 ≀ x ≀ 0.10) manganites

    K doping in the compound of Nd0.75Na0.25-xKxMn1O3 (x = 0, 0.05 and 0.10) manganites have been investigated to study its effect on crystalline phase and surface morphology as well as electrical transport and magnetic properties. The structure properties of the Nd0.75Na0.25- xKxMnO3 manganite have been characterized using X-ray diffraction measurement and it proved that the crystalline phase of samples were essentially single phased and indexed as orthorhombic structure with space group of Pnma. The morphological study from scanning electron microscope showed there was an improvement on the grains boundaries and sizes as well as the compactness with K doping suggestively due to the difference of ionic radius. On the other hand, DC electrical resistivity measurement showed all samples exhibit insulating behavior. However, analysis of dlnρ/dT-1 vs. T revealed the clearly peaks could be observed at temperature 210K for x = 0 and the peaks were shifted to the lower temperature around 190 K and 165 K for x = 0.05 and x = 0.1 respectively, indicate the existence of charge ordering (CO) state in the compound. Meanwhile, the investigation on magnetic behavior showed all samples exhibit transition from paramagnetic phase to anti-ferromagnetic phase with decreasing temperature and the TN was observed to shift to lower temperature suggestively due to weakening of CO stat

    International audienceThis paper presents system analysis, modeling and simulation of an EV with two independent rear wheel drives. The traction control system is designed to guarantee the EV dynamics and stability in case of no differential gears. Using two electrics in-wheel motors give the possibility to have a torque and speed control in each wheel. This control level improves the EV stability and the safety. The proposed traction control system uses the vehicle speed, which is different from wheels speed characterized by slip in the driving mode, an input. In this case, a generalized neural network algorithm is proposed to estimate the vehicle speed. In terms of the analysis and the simulations carried out, the conclusion can be drawn that the proposed system is feasible. Simulation results on a test vehicle propelled by two 37-kW induction motors showed that the proposed control approach operates satisfactorily

    Comparison between unipolar and bipolar single phase grid-connected inverters for PV applications

    An inverter is essential for the interfacing of photovoltaic panels with the AC network. There are many possible inverter topologies and inverter switching schemes and each one will have its own relative advantages and disadvantages. Efficiency and output current distortion are two important factors governing the choice of inverter system. In this paper, it is argued that current controlled inverters offer significant advantages from the point of view of minimisation of current distortion. Two inverter switching strategies are explored in detail. These are the unipolar current controlled inverter and the bipolar current controlled inverter. With respect to low frequency distortion, previously published works provide theoretical arguments in favour of bipolar switching. On the other hand it has also been argued that the unipolar switched inverter offers reduced switching losses and generates less EMI. On efficiency grounds, it appears that the unipolar switched inverter has an advantage. However, experimental results presented in this paper show that the level of low frequency current distortion in the unipolar switched inverter is such that it can only comply with Australian Standard 4777.2 above a minimum output current. On the other hand it is shown that at the same current levels bipolar switching results in reduced low frequency harmonics

    FPGA design methodology for industrial control systems—a review

    This paper reviews the state of the art of fieldprogrammable gate array (FPGA) design methodologies with a focus on industrial control system applications. This paper starts with an overview of FPGA technology development, followed by a presentation of design methodologies, development tools and relevant CAD environments, including the use of portable hardware description languages and system level programming/design tools. They enable a holistic functional approach with the major advantage of setting up a unique modeling and evaluation environment for complete industrial electronics systems. Three main design rules are then presented. These are algorithm refinement, modularity, and systematic search for the best compromise between the control performance and the architectural constraints. An overview of contributions and limits of FPGAs is also given, followed by a short survey of FPGA-based intelligent controllers for modern industrial systems. Finally, two complete and timely case studies are presented to illustrate the benefits of an FPGA implementation when using the proposed system modeling and design methodology. These consist of the direct torque control for induction motor drives and the control of a diesel-driven synchronous stand-alone generator with the help of fuzzy logic

    A Fault-Tolerant Control Architecture for Induction Motor Drives in Automotive Applications

    International audienceThis paper describes a fault-tolerant control system for a high-performance induction motor drive that propels an electrical vehicle (EV) or hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). In the proposed control scheme, the developed system takes into account the controller transition smoothness in the event of sensor failure. Moreover, due to the EV or HEV requirements for sensorless operations, a practical sensorless control scheme is developed and used within the proposed fault-tolerant control system. This requires the presence of an adaptive flux observer. The speed estimator is based on the approximation of the magnetic characteristic slope of the induction motor to the mutual inductance value. Simulation results, in terms of speed and torque responses, show the effectiveness of the proposed approach
