    Get PDF
In this paper, we propose a holistic model that highlights the interrelationships among factors that contribute to knowledge leakage in collaborative projects using the interpretive structural modeling (ISM) technique and cross-impact matrix multiplication (MICMAC) analysis. Our study suggests that nine relevant factors influence knowledge leakage in collaborative projects. Incomplete contracts and insufficient technological competence are the root cause of knowledge leakage. Furthermore, the nine factors are categorized into two main clusters, namely dependency cluster - strong dependence power with weak driving power, and independent cluster - weak dependence power with strong driving power. Our study contributes several valuable insights to both theory and practice

With booming of the automobile industry, China has become the country with increasing car ownership all over the world. However, the end-of-life vehicle (ELV) recycling industry is at infancy, and there is little systematic review on ELV recycling management, as well as low adoption amongst domestic automobile industry. This study presents a literature review and an interpretive structural modeling (ISM) approach is employed to identify the drivers towards Chinese ELV recycling business from government, recycling organizations and consumer’s perspectives, so as to improve the sustainability of automobile supply chain by providing some strategic insights. The results derived from the ISM analysis manifest that regulations on auto-factory, disassembly technique, and value mining of recycling business are the essential ingredients. It is most effective and efficient to promote ELV recycling business by improving these attributes, also the driving and dependence power analysis are deemed to provide guidance on performance improvement of ELV recycling in the Chinese market

The peculiar characteristics of constructed products significantly differentiate construction from manufacturing. Past researches seem have been given greatest attention and concentration to the innovation in manufacturing sector. This research assesses the determinants of firm’s innovativeness in construction sector, which has been neglected by researchers despite its immense importance to the technological advancement in affecting the degree of innovation implementation and adoption. A total of fourteen hypothesises were developed and tested. These hypotheses are established within the context of heavy construction sector characteristics that are consistently suggested to be significant determinants of firm innovativeness. These characteristics include (1) market structure characteristics, (2) organisation and task characteristics, (3) adopter industry competitive environment, and (4) external cooperation linkage. This study has reviewed the problem of determinants of firms’ innovativeness in technological innovation the Malaysian heavy construction sector to meet the three outlined objectives. Hypotheses were tested utilising survey data collect from Malaysia Construction Industry Development Board, CIDB Grade 7 construction firms throughout the Malaysia. The relationships of the identified four domains were discussed in this research. The results indicate that adopter industry competitive environment and external cooperation linkage are among the variables that significantly affect the degree of innovation implementation and adoption. Results also indicate that 13 out of 14 hypothesises are supported and positively affecting the degree of innovation implementation and adoption. Lastly, a new model closely reflects the essence of the determinants of firm’s innovativeness in heavy construction sector was formulated. Therefore, the results suggest that increasing the rate of innovation implementation and adoption may be enhanced to a greater degree by increasing adopter industry competitive environment and external linkage rather than implementing market structure environment characteristics or organisation and task characteristics. This research has value and has advanced knowledge in construction industry, especially, and hence the aim has successfully attained

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of Market Orientation (MO) on the relationship between total quality management (TQM), entrepreneurial orientation (EO), and organizational performance (OP). The motivation for this study was driven by the inconsistent findings in the literature concerning the relationships between TQM, EO, and organizational performance. Due to the inconsistent results, a new research has emerged and this has prompted further investigation on the effect of other variables that may better explain the nature of these links. In the related literature, many theories have suggested that the compatibility between strategies, resources, and capabilities as the keys for success. To achieve this purpose, this study has integrated different theories such as the resource-based view, and the Congruence Model . Questionnaires were distributed to 400 Sections of the Libyan banks. 230 questionnaires were returned and used in the analysis using the PLSSEM. The results of this study revealed that TQM, and EO were positive and have also been proven to be significant predictors of organizational performance. More importantly, the results have also confirmed the mediating effect of Market Orientation on the relationships between TQM, EO, and organizational performanc

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to identify and screen continuous innovation capability enablers (CICEs) in Indonesia’s manufacturing sectors, develop a relationship among these enablers and determine their driving power and dependence power in the sector. Design/methodology/approach – The initial CICEs identification process is based on a literature review, while a fuzzy Delphi method (FDM) was used for the screening process of CICEs. Total interpretive structural modelling (TISM) was used to develop contextual relationships among various CICEs. The results of the TISM are used as an input for the matrix of cross-impact multiplications applied to classification (MICMAC) to classify the driving power and dependence powers of the CICEs. Findings – This paper selected 16 CICEs classified in seven dimensions. TISM results and MICMAC analysis show that leadership, as well as climate and culture, are enablers with the highest driving power and lowest dependence powers; followed by information technology. The results of this study indicate that efforts to continuously develop innovation capabilities in the Indonesian manufacturing industries are strongly influenced by their leadership capability, climate and culture, also information technology-related capability. Practical implications – The framework assessed in this study provides business managers and policymakers to obtain a bigger picture in developing policies with evidence-based strategy and priority in regard to continuous innovation capability. Originality/value – The results will be useful for business managers and policymakers to understand the relationship between CICEs and identify key CICEs in Indonesia’s manufacturing sectors, which were previously non-existe

The purpose of this study is to understand consumers’ behavior on their intention to use e-money mobile. The study of the intention to use e-money mobile is still at the early stage in payment transaction. The e-money mobile is a new product for payment transaction that look for massive, micro, and quick means for transaction. The model that integrates in this study is the Decomposed Theory of Planned Behaviour (DTPB). In particular, it is simultaneously assesses the determinants of consumers’ intention to use e-money mobile in Indonesia which examines twelve (12) variables. The variables are attitude, awareness, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, perceived risk, perceived security, relative advantage, complexity, social-cultural influence, family, self-confidence, and resources facilitating conditions. Based on a sample of one thousand and three hundred (1300) respondents was selected using mall-intercept method with technique sampling multistage cluster sampling and systematic random sampling in Padang, Indonesia. The Partial Least Squares Method (PLS) series PLS 2.0 M3 for algorithm and bootstrap techniques and SPSS 18 was used to test the hypothesis that has been developed. Results show that all variables had significant positive influence on the intention to use e-money mobile excluded the awareness. The awareness has positive influence but not significant on the intention to use e-money mobile. This study contributes to improve the specific theory of DTPB that generally limited to e-Commerce, e-Banking, and others social networking. The findings give more information to the issuers about the characteristic consumers and add new knowledge for academics, practioners, bank, assurance companies, airline companies and the health sector

Although internet banking has been widely adopted in developed countries, there is still a low percentage of internet banking adoption in Yemen, indicating a probable high resistance to internet banking. Hence, the objective of this research was to determine the direct predictors (attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control (PBC), credibility, trust, compatibility, self-efficacy and government support) of customer resistance, attitude, subjective norm, PBC and credibility towards internet banking. Additionally, this study examined the mediating effects of attitude, subjective norm, PBC, and credibility on the relationship between predictors and customer resistance to internet-banking behavior using Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior (DTPB). A quantitative research survey was used whereby 900 questionnaires were distributed randomly to University employees. 451questionnaires were returned, representing a 50% response rate. After screening, 372 useable data sets were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study found five significant predictors of customer resistance (attitude, credibility, compatibility, selfefficacy, and government support); three significant factors predicting attitude (government support, subjective norm and PBC); two significant predictors of SN (government support and self-efficacy); two significant predictors of PBC (compatibility and self-efficacy); and three predictors of credibility (trust, government support and PBC). It was also found that attitude fully mediated the relationship between subjective norm and customer resistance as well as between PBC and customer resistance. Contrastingly, attitude was a partial mediator between the relationship of government support and customer resistance. Likewise, credibility is a full mediator on the relationship between trust and customer resistance; PBC and customer resistance. Credibility also partially mediated the relationship between government support and customer resistance. Finally, the study contributes empirically by validating DTBP as an effective underpinning theory in explaining the internet banking resistance and that government should enact more stringent laws and policies to control the internet banking in Yemen
