Innovation attributes and managers' decisions about the adoption of innovations in organizations: A meta-analytical review
The adopÂtion of inÂnoÂvaÂtions has emerged as a domÂiÂnant reÂsearch topic in the manÂageÂment of inÂnoÂvaÂtion in orÂgaÂniÂzaÂtions, alÂthough inÂvesÂtiÂgaÂtions ofÂten yield mixed reÂsults. To help manÂagers and reÂsearchers imÂprove their efÂfecÂtiveÂness, the auÂthors emÂployed a meta-analyÂsis inÂteÂgrated with strucÂtural equaÂtion modÂelÂing to anÂaÂlyze the asÂsoÂciÂaÂtions beÂtween the atÂtribÂutes of inÂnoÂvaÂtions, manÂagers' beÂhavÂioral prefÂerÂences, and orÂgaÂniÂzaÂtions' inÂnoÂvaÂtion adopÂtion deÂciÂsions in a meÂdiÂated-modÂerÂated frameÂwork. The influence of organizational culture on the outcome of an IS implementation
A number of information system (IS) studies have adopted organizational culture (OC) theory to investigate IS implementations. The studies highlight that members will reach consensus or agreement in the use of an IS but also experience inevitable tensions and ambiguities in the use of the IS. However, literature related to IS implementation/OC has rarely examined the influence that the saliency of specific cultural practices may have on the success or failure of IS implementations. Using a case study approach, we adopted the âsoft positivismâ research philosophy to collect data, underpinned by Martinâs (1992) integration and differentiation perspectives of OC to study organizational implementation of an IS. These perspectives served as interpretive lenses through which to explain how membersâ salient behaviors towards an IS evolved during the implementation process. Explaining Employees Extended Use of Complex Information Systems
Investments in complex information systems by organizations reached a record high of U.S.$26.7 billion in 2004. Yet, organizations seldom use these systems to the fullest extent and attain the expected return on investment. This paper addresses the issue of system underutilization by investigating Extended Use, which refers to using more system features to support one\u27s tasks. Extended Use was examined in the nomological networks of the IS Continuance (ISC) Model and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A field survey was conducted in a large manufacturing firm that had successfully implemented a popular enterprise resource planning solution for more than 2 years. All paths in both ISC and TAM were statistically significant. A synthesized model was later proposed and examined in a post hoc analysis. The results indicate that the synthesized model, as compared to ISC and TAM, explained slightly higher variances in Extended Use, Perceived Usefulness (PU), and Satisfaction. Specifically, both Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) and PU both affected Extended Use. Interestingly, Satisfaction has no direct impact on Extended Use in the presence of PU and PEOU. In contrast to most technology acceptance research, PEOU has a stronger behavioral impact than that of PU. This research provides a framework that explains Extended Use and is one of the few studies that investigates IS use behavior that exceeds simple, shallow, and routine use

What drives consumers' e-loyalty to airlines web site? Conceptual framework and managerial implications
This study proposes a revised technology acceptance model that integrates expectation confirmation theory to measure continuance intentions of online shopping for airlines web sites. The sample respondent 465online users in Saudi Arabia. A structural equation model confirms model fit. Perceived usefulness, enjoyment, social pressure, and loyalty incentives are determinants of online flight booking continuance in Saudi Arabia. This research moves beyond online booking intentions and includes factors affecting online booking continuance. The research model explains 53% of the intention to continue booking using airlines web sites
International business: past, present and futures
This article provides the context for futures thinking in the field of international business (IB). The article begins by considering the nature of IB. Its historical development is then elaborated, before its current significance and trends are considered. Building on the review of past and present we speculate briefly on the possible futures of IB. In so doing, we provide a basis from which the contributions to this Special Issue on the Futures of IB can be understood and situated in a broader context
The influence of cultural values on Enterprise System adoption, towards a culture â Enterprise System alignment theory
During the last decades, organizations worldwide have replaced their fragmented and home-grown information systems with standardized Enterprise Systems that span the entire organization. The logics embedded in Enterprise Systems, such as a centralized and integrated view on the firm, standardized organization-wide working processes, and data sharing, may or may not be congruent with the cultural context of the user organization. Especially in case of a limited alignment, the adoption and full use of the Enterprise System will require specific attention from implementers. By developing a theoretical explanation of how responses to Enterprise Systems are influenced by cultural values, we contribute to the development of a cultural alignment theory of Enterprise Systems. Drawing on Hofstedeâs cultural values framework, we analysed 85 published cases from firms operating in different cultural contexts, which resulted in the modelling of two contrasting archetypical cultural profiles: one that is more, and one that is less, receptive to the logics embedded in Enterprise Systems. Our model provides implementers with the necessary insights to develop implementation strategies that take the cultural context into account
