Analysis of utility and use of a web-based tool for digital signal processing teaching by means of a technological acceptance model
This paper presents an exploratory study about the development of a structural and measurement model
for the technological acceptance (TAM) of a web-based educational tool. The aim consists of measuring
not only the use of this tool, but also the external variables with a significant influence in its use for planning
future improvements. The tool, designed with Shockwavee and Macromedia Directore, is a web-based
educational environment that has been applied as a teaching methodology in an undergraduate course
involved with modern microprocessors architectures and applications. The proposed methodology may
be extensible to similar tools and tries to fill the lack of scientific studies in the validation and acceptance
of computer-based educational tool
A technological acceptance of e-learning tools used in practical and laboratory teaching, according to the European higher education area
The application of scientific tools to analyse the use of Internet-based e-learning tools in academic settings is in
general an ignored area. E-learning tools are actually an emergent topic as a result of the new ideas introduced by the
European Higher Education Area. Lifelong learning, or the promotion of student initiative, is the new paradigm of a
learner-centred education. In this context, e-learning tools can represent an effective way of supporting this new
trend in education. Assuming the premise that successful use of these web-based tools depends primarily on a user’s
behaviour, the objective of this research is to examine the technology acceptance model (TAM) of web-based elearning
tools used in practical and laboratory teaching. The research hypotheses derived from this model have
empirically been validated using the responses to a survey on e-learning usage among 220 users. These responses
have been examined through partial least square. The obtained results strongly support the extended TAM in
predicting a student’s intention to use e-learning and define a set of external variables with a significant influence in
the original TAM variables. Surprisingly, perceived ease of use did not posit a significant impact on student attitude
or intention towards e-learning tool usage. Therefore, early evaluation of e-learning material is considered essential
to providing a framework for further improvements of the too
Semantic discovery and reuse of business process patterns
Patterns currently play an important role in modern information systems (IS) development and their use has mainly been restricted to the design and implementation phases of the development lifecycle. Given the increasing significance of business modelling in IS development, patterns have the potential of providing a viable solution for promoting reusability of recurrent generalized models in the very early stages of development. As a statement of research-in-progress this paper focuses on business process patterns and proposes an initial methodological framework for the discovery and reuse of business process patterns within the IS development lifecycle. The framework borrows ideas from the domain engineering literature and proposes the use of semantics to drive both the discovery of patterns as well as their reuse
The Impact of Teaching Innovative Strategy on Academic Performance in High Schools
The study focuses primarily on the impact of creative teaching on learning effectiveness in a certain technical vocational school in Vietnam. The satisfaction in the learning of students is like a variable mediator. The sample population of the research was the student organ of the technical-professional college in Taiwan. Comfort samples were included for taking the samples. To validate the whole study model and to calculate its success fit, the structural model. Analysis showed that the direct and optimistic impact of creativity in teaching on student quality was insignificant. Secondly, there is a strong positive effect on the enjoyment of learning from innovation. The satisfaction of the learners affects their academic success significantly and explicitly. In short, student satisfaction is as mediating as possible between learning and schools. It will also improve students comprehension and progress. Thus, this study has attempted to monitor and acknowledge the effect of learning creativity on learning performance in vocational, technical, and schools in Taiwan – with the mediation variable being learning satisfaction
