The websites and network application experienced explosive growth in the past two decades. As the evolution of smartphones and mobile communication network have evolved, smart phone s user experience has been improved to a high level, and more and more people prefer to use smartphones. However, the development of techniques will not only increase the users experience but also bring threats of cracking. The development of techniques brought the potential threats to websites security. As a result, CAPTCHA, Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart, forms one of the methods to impede spamming attacks. As CAPTCHA s definition indicates, CAPTCHA should be recognized by humans easily while shouldn t be recognized computers. These two attributes of CAPTCHA can be considered as usability and robustness. Some CAPTCHA is difficult to be recognized by computers, but humans may also find difficult to recognize it. Therefore, the purpose of the thesis is to find out the balance between usability and robustness of CAPTCHA. Therefore, the related researches about the usability and the robustness of CAPTCHA will be reviewed, and the process of automatic CAPTCHA recognition will be Figured out and implemented by the author. The implementation will be based on the existed algorithms and a case study. The findings are the factors for improving CAPTCHA s robustness. They are from the each step of a specific process of automatic CAPTCHA recognition. Then the factors will be compared with the issues which are from the related usability research. The discussion will derive some possible ways, such as adding confusing characters and increasing data s diversity to improve robustness while keeping the usability according to the derived factors

The soft computing techniques have been widely applied to model and analyze the complex and uncertain problems. This paper aims to develop a novel model for the risk assessment of tunneling projects using artificial bee colony algorithm. To this end, the risk of the second part of the Emamzade Hashem tunnel was assessed and analyzed in seven sections after testing geotechnical characteristics. Five geotechnical and hydrological properties of study zone are considered for the clustering of geological units in front of tunneling project including length of tunnel, uniaxial compressive strength, rock mass rating, tunneling index Q, density and underground water condition. These sections were classified in two low-risk and high-risk groups based on their geotechnical characteristics and using clustering technique. It was resulted that three sections with lithologies Durood Formation, Mobarak Formation, and Ruteh Formation are placed in the high risk group and the other sections with lithologies Baroot Formation, Elika Formation, Dacite tuff of Eocene, and Shear Tuff, and Lava Eocene are placed in the low risk group. In addition, the underground water condition and density with 0.722 and 1 Euclidean distances have the highest and lowest impacts in the high risk group, respectively. Therefore, comparing the obtained results of modelling and actual excavation data demonstrated that this technique can be applied as a powerful tool for modeling risks of tunnel and underground constructions

Whilst the concept of physical workload is intuitively understood and readily applicable in system design, the same cannot be said of mental workload (MWL), despite its importance in our increasingly technological society. Despite its origin in the mid 20th century, the very concept of ”mental workload” is still a topic of debate in the literature, although it can be loosely defined as “the amount of mental work necessary for a person to complete a task” (Miller, 1956; Longo, 2014). Several methods have been utilized to measure of MWL, including physiological methods such as neuro-imagery, performance-based metrics, and subjective measures via questionnaires, such as the NASA-TLX method (NASA, 2022). In this work, the relationship between subjective measures of MWL and objective indicators of activity is examined. Herein, a series of web-based tasks have been developed with mouse-activity monitoring implemented in JavaScript in order to study this relationship. The experimental results indicate that user mouse activity does not correlate with subjective indicators of MWL

This document aims to provide the reader with information about the Des and 3Des Encryption algorithms, this through research in different sources of scientific certification data referenced in the document. Currently, the usability of these algorithms is not frequent due to obsolescence, but without a doubt they were the basis for other more robust encryption algorithms that provide more reliability and security for the end user today. This document seeks a critical and argued view for the reader’s knowledge of the subject based on research carried out by the authors of the document, for this it is necessary to make known the importance of encryption algorithms and the usability that they have today in day.

Social networking platforms, largely based on Web 2.0 technologies, have opened up a world of possibilities for study, work and play. They enable users to create and publish their own content, share it, and interact with other users from all over the world, in real time or near real time. They have given rise to whole new social phenomena and have become an important part of social interactions, such as forming friendships, supporting social and political causes, and publishing one work or advertising one service. By now it is absolutely clear that not having equal access to social networking leads to social exclusion and creates significant barriers. Instead of becoming the medium of equality and social inclusion that social services platforms could be for people with disabilities, their increased popularity coupled with their lack of accessibility now creates a widening digital divide between those with full access and those without. Not having access to social platforms can lead to social isolation as well as lost opportunities for professional and educational careers for people with disabilities, specifically visual impairments. Unfortunately social networking sites and applications come with numerous barriers for people with disabilities who want to use them, as they were not developed on the basis of accessibility, usability and design for all. The present project performs an accesibility analysis of the most popular social networks in Spain focused, in particular, on people who are blind or partially sighted and based on the compliance levels categorized by the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG). The goal is to test if these social networks assist the right to equal access to the information, communication, and knowledge-based society.Ingeniería Técnica en Informática de Gestió
