A Bibliometric Overview of the Field of Type-2 Fuzzy Sets and Systems [Discussion Forum]

© 2005-2012 IEEE. Fuzzy Sets and Systems is an area of computational intelligence, pioneered by Lotfi Zadeh over 50 years ago in a seminal paper in Information and Control. Fuzzy Sets (FSs) deal with uncertainty in our knowledge of a particular situation. Research and applications in FSs have grown steadily over 50 years. More recently, we have seen a growth in Type-2 Fuzzy Set (T2 FS) related papers, where T2 FSs are utilized to handle uncertainty in realworld problems. In this paper, we have used bibliometric methods to obtain a broad overview of the area of T2 FSs. This method analyzes information on the bibliographic details of published journal papers, which includes title, authors, author address, journals and citations, extracted from the Science and Social Science Citation Indices in the Web of Science (WoS) database for the last 20 years (1997-2017). We have compared the growth of publications in the field of FSs, and its subset T2 FSs, identified highly cited papers in T2 FSs, highly cited authors, key institutions, and main countries with researchers involved in T2 FS related research

Extended Fuzzy Sets and Their Applications

    Get PDF
This contribution deals with introducing the innovative concept of extended fuzzy set (E-FS), in which the S-norm function of membership and non-membership grades is less than or equal to one. The proposed concept not only encompasses the concept of the fuzzy set (FS), but it also includes the concepts of the intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS), the Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS) and the p-rung orthopair fuzzy set (p-ROFS). In order to explore the features of the E-FS concept, set and algebraic operations on E-FSs, average and geometric operations of E-FSs are studied and an E-FS score function is defined. The superiority of the E-FS concept is further confirmed with a score-based decision making technique in which the concepts of FS, IFS, PFS and p-ROFS do not make sense

The Higgs Penguin and its Applications : An overview

We review the effective Lagrangian of the Higgs penguin in the Standard Model and its minimal supersymmetric extension (MSSM). As a master application of the Higgs penguin, we discuss in some detail the B-meson decays into a lepton-antilepton pair. Furthermore, we explain how this can probe the Higgs sector of the MSSM provided that some of these decays are seen at Tevatron Run II and B-factories. Finally, we present a complete list of observables where the Higgs penguin could be strongly involved.Comment: 22 pages, 6 figures, Invited review article to appear in Mod. Phys. Lett.
