Dynamically Stable 3D Quadrupedal Walking with Multi-Domain Hybrid System Models and Virtual Constraint Controllers
Hybrid systems theory has become a powerful approach for designing feedback
controllers that achieve dynamically stable bipedal locomotion, both formally
and in practice. This paper presents an analytical framework 1) to address
multi-domain hybrid models of quadruped robots with high degrees of freedom,
and 2) to systematically design nonlinear controllers that asymptotically
stabilize periodic orbits of these sophisticated models. A family of
parameterized virtual constraint controllers is proposed for continuous-time
domains of quadruped locomotion to regulate holonomic and nonholonomic outputs.
The properties of the Poincare return map for the full-order and closed-loop
hybrid system are studied to investigate the asymptotic stabilization problem
of dynamic gaits. An iterative optimization algorithm involving linear and
bilinear matrix inequalities is then employed to choose stabilizing virtual
constraint parameters. The paper numerically evaluates the analytical results
on a simulation model of an advanced 3D quadruped robot, called GR Vision 60,
with 36 state variables and 12 control inputs. An optimal amble gait of the
robot is designed utilizing the FROST toolkit. The power of the analytical
framework is finally illustrated through designing a set of stabilizing virtual
constraint controllers with 180 controller parameters.Comment: American Control Conference 201
Simulation of Rapidly-Exploring Random Trees in Membrane Computing with P-Lingua and Automatic Programming
Methods based on Rapidly-exploring Random Trees (RRTs) have been
widely used in robotics to solve motion planning problems. On the other hand, in the
membrane computing framework, models based on Enzymatic Numerical P systems
(ENPS) have been applied to robot controllers, but today there is a lack of planning
algorithms based on membrane computing for robotics. With this motivation, we
provide a variant of ENPS called Random Enzymatic Numerical P systems with
Proteins and Shared Memory (RENPSM) addressed to implement RRT algorithms
and we illustrate it by simulating the bidirectional RRT algorithm. This paper is an
extension of [21]a. The software presented in [21] was an ad-hoc simulator, i.e, a tool
for simulating computations of one and only one model that has been hard-coded.
The main contribution of this paper with respect to [21] is the introduction of a novel
solution for membrane computing simulators based on automatic programming. First,
we have extended the P-Lingua syntax –a language to define membrane computing
models– to write RENPSM models. Second, we have implemented a new parser based
on Flex and Bison to read RENPSM models and produce source code in C language
for multicore processors with OpenMP. Finally, additional experiments are presented.Ministerio de EconomÃa, Industria y Competitividad TIN2017-89842-
Comparative Analysis Multi-Robot Formation Control Modeling Using Fuzzy Logic Type 2 – Particle Swarm Optimization
Multi-robot is a robotic system consisting of several robots that are interconnected and can communicate and collaborate with each other to complete a goal. With physical similarities, they have two controlled wheels and one free wheel that moves at the same speed. In this Problem, there is a main problem remaining in controlling the movement of the multi robot formation in searching the target. It occurs because the robots have to create dynamic geometric shapes towards the target. In its movement, it requires a control system in order to move the position as desired. For multi-robot movement formations, they have their own predetermined trajectories which are relatively constant in varying speeds and accelerations even in sudden stops. Based on these weaknesses, the robots must be able to avoid obstacles and reach the target. This research used Fuzzy Logic type 2 – Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm which was compared with Fuzzy Logic type 2 – Modified Particle Swarm Optimization and Fuzzy Logic type 2 – Dynamic Particle Swarm Optimization. Based on the experiments that had been carried out in each environment, it was found that Fuzzy Logic type 2 - Modified Particle Swarm Optimization had better iteration, time and resource and also smoother robot movement than Fuzzy Logic type 2 – Particle Swarm Optimization and Fuzzy Logic Type 2 - Dynamic Particle Swarm Optimization
A path planning and path-following control framework for a general 2-trailer with a car-like tractor
Maneuvering a general 2-trailer with a car-like tractor in backward motion is
a task that requires significant skill to master and is unarguably one of the
most complicated tasks a truck driver has to perform. This paper presents a
path planning and path-following control solution that can be used to
automatically plan and execute difficult parking and obstacle avoidance
maneuvers by combining backward and forward motion. A lattice-based path
planning framework is developed in order to generate kinematically feasible and
collision-free paths and a path-following controller is designed to stabilize
the lateral and angular path-following error states during path execution. To
estimate the vehicle state needed for control, a nonlinear observer is
developed which only utilizes information from sensors that are mounted on the
car-like tractor, making the system independent of additional trailer sensors.
The proposed path planning and path-following control framework is implemented
on a full-scale test vehicle and results from simulations and real-world
experiments are presented.Comment: Preprin
Robust Motion Control for Mobile Manipulator Using Resolved Acceleration and Proportional-Integral Active Force Control
A resolved acceleration control (RAC) and proportional-integral active force
control (PIAFC) is proposed as an approach for the robust motion control of a
mobile manipulator (MM) comprising a differentially driven wheeled mobile
platform with a two-link planar arm mounted on top of the platform. The study
emphasizes on the integrated kinematic and dynamic control strategy in which
the RAC is used to manipulate the kinematic component while the PIAFC is
implemented to compensate the dynamic effects including the bounded
known/unknown disturbances and uncertainties. The effectivenss and robustness
of the proposed scheme are investigated through a rigorous simulation study and
later complemented with experimental results obtained through a number of
experiments performed on a fully developed working prototype in a laboratory
environment. A number of disturbances in the form of vibratory and impact
forces are deliberately introduced into the system to evaluate the system
performances. The investigation clearly demonstrates the extreme robustness
feature of the proposed control scheme compared to other systems considered in
the study
Robust adaptive controller for wheel mobile robot with disturbances and wheel slips
In this paper an observer based adaptive control algorithm is built for wheel mobile robot (WMR) with considering the system uncertainties, input disturbances, and wheel slips. Firstly, the model of the kinematic and dynamic loops is shown with presence of the disturbances and system uncertainties. Next, the adaptive controller for nonlinear mismatched disturbance systems based on the disturbances observer is presented in detail. The controller includes two parts, the first one is for the stability purpose and the later is for the disturbances compensation. After that this control scheme is applied for both two loops of the system. In this paper, the stability of the closed system which consists of two control loops and the convergence of the observers is mathematically analysed based on the Lyapunov theory. Moreover, the proposed model does not require the complex calculation so it is easy for the implementation. Finally, the simulation model is built for presented method and the existed one to verify the correctness and the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. The simulation results show that the introduced controller gives the good performances even that the desired trajectory is complicated and the working condition is hard
