The purpose of the article is generalization of features of expediency of the creation of innovative parks in Ukraine. Practical output of the results consists in the discovered success factors of the activity of innovative parks in Ukraine in order to create new opportunities of innovation development of the country. Current organizational and functional system of innovative entrepreneurship of Ukraine is an imperfect, complex and by all indications, is in the process of formation. It is assumed that infrastructure of international educational innovative hub can structurally corrected according to the area which operates a hub that is: stimulate the dialogue between academics, businessmen and government officials; provide an interactive exchange of explicit and implicit knowledge; generate shared vision on adaptation measures of dynamic environment. Evaluation of the results of scientific and pedagogical activities of working group of innovative hub should be made for following indicators: development of skills of teaching and research work; introducing of innovative approaches for practical individual activity; formation of innovative approaches for collective practical activity; working on the chosen scientific and methodological theme. Main advantage of proposed university innovative hubs is that laid all necessary foundations in order to high school could be as soon as effectively integrate the results of university, academic and sectoral sciences of Ukraine, well as advanced research results of scientific world community in the development and implementation of innovative projects and development innovation

Trends in Programming Languages for Neuroscience Simulations

    Get PDF
Neuroscience simulators allow scientists to express models in terms of biological concepts, without having to concern themselves with low-level computational details of their implementation. The expressiveness, power and ease-of-use of the simulator interface is critical in efficiently and accurately translating ideas into a working simulation. We review long-term trends in the development of programmable simulator interfaces, and examine the benefits of moving from proprietary, domain-specific languages to modern dynamic general-purpose languages, in particular Python, which provide neuroscientists with an interactive and expressive simulation development environment and easy access to state-of-the-art general-purpose tools for scientific computing

Study of urban ecological environment in the process of urbanization

    Get PDF
There is an interactive relationship between urbanization development and urban ecological environment construction. The relationship between the two should be viewed dialectically, and a scientific management system should be built to promote both sides' coordinated and symbiotic development. Under the current situation, urban ecological environment construction in China is facing the contradiction between urban ecological environment protection and urban economic growth, the deterioration of resources and environment aggravated by urbanization, and the incompatible relationship between market-led and government governance. Based on the model of ecological environment governance in developed countries around the world, we propose measures for the construction and management of the urban ecological environment in China's urbanization process

Teaching and learning perspectives in higher education

This describes practices of teaching and learning in a course included in a master's program curriculum in the field of health sciences and evaluates the potential of these practices in the acquisition of knowledge and the development of critical thinking and understanding. The course lasts 14 weeks and includes contributions from several scientific areas; the analysis of a subject is stimulated through several topics; teaching is oriented to learning objectives arranged into modules and goes through several phases. Were observed 34 hours of classes, using an observation rubric, we interviewed 2 teachers and 4 students. For data categorization, we used content analysis (Bardin, 1977). The observations revealed an interactive environment among peers and between students and teachers. The assumption of a student-centered and integrated education perspective may help learning, potentiating the development of autonomy and critical thinking skills, understanding, curiosity, self-confidence and self awareness.Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT

MOLNs: A cloud platform for interactive, reproducible and scalable spatial stochastic computational experiments in systems biology using PyURDME

Computational experiments using spatial stochastic simulations have led to important new biological insights, but they require specialized tools, a complex software stack, as well as large and scalable compute and data analysis resources due to the large computational cost associated with Monte Carlo computational workflows. The complexity of setting up and managing a large-scale distributed computation environment to support productive and reproducible modeling can be prohibitive for practitioners in systems biology. This results in a barrier to the adoption of spatial stochastic simulation tools, effectively limiting the type of biological questions addressed by quantitative modeling. In this paper, we present PyURDME, a new, user-friendly spatial modeling and simulation package, and MOLNs, a cloud computing appliance for distributed simulation of stochastic reaction-diffusion models. MOLNs is based on IPython and provides an interactive programming platform for development of sharable and reproducible distributed parallel computational experiments
