Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate Muslim academics’ knowledge sharing (KS) behavior and its relating predictors in the context of Malaysia. Academics being the center entity of education in higher learning institutions (HLI) has the noble obligation in spreading and sharing knowledge. Moreover, in Islamic teaching, academics having knowledge must let others know that knowledge can be beneficial in everyday life. Design/methodology/approach – The underpinning theories used in this study are theory of planned behavior (TPB) and social capital theory (SCT) for assessing the probable factors that can determine academics’ KS behavior. This study evaluates 398 Muslim academics in Malaysia for KS behavior in 20 public and 5 private HLIs. Structural equation modeling–partial least square was used as the tool for data analysis. Findings – It was found that all the variables tested in this study were significant, except for commitment. Social network, trust, management support, facilitating conditions and social media are significant predictors in Muslimacademics’ KS behavior

Knowledge management (KM) is becoming a very important issue in higher education, which drives the ability to collect and analyze information, transform knowledge and apply novelties. Therefore, this paper aimed at introducing a framework of thoughts for applying knowledge management in the Sudanese universities, depending on the analysis of the theoretical studies and the available literature related to the topic. In doing so, the researchers followed a qualitative and analytical type of research. To collect data, previous studies and papers, especially those related to higher education institutions are reviewed. The paper covered the basic concepts, definitions, justifications, and domains, besides the application of (KM) in the Sudanese universities. The main factors that can help in relieving difficulties facing (KM) are also discussed. The paper concluded that Sudanese Universities are considered the most suitable institutions to apply (KM), as they have a strong infrastructure that is favorable to the production and application of knowledge through the venues of investment in scientific research. The paper recommended the utmost necessity of adopting (KM) in the Sudanese universities as an approach to developing the individual and the official administrative to improve the level of outputs and to increase its capacity to adapt to all the prevalent changes and challenges. The use of knowledge management, according to this paper's inference, promotes staff members to advance both themselves and their universities by using this information to scientific research and studies

This study measures the internal customer satisfaction towards HRM practices and its relationship with external customer satisfaction and with other organisational outcomes such as job satisfaction, employee commitment, and turnover intention. This study is unique because it examines the internal customer satisfaction, particularly towards one of the most important management aspects such as HRM practices. It uses the customers‟ satisfaction framework instead of job satisfaction framework. Data was collected from five universities in the Klang Valley. Data was collected from internal customers (employees) and external customers (students). There were 575 internal customers and 600 external customers participated in this study. The findings revealed that employees are satisfied with the HRM practices of their organisation. This study partially supports the hypothesis that internal customers‟ satisfaction is positively related to external customers‟ satisfaction whereby the students are satisfied with the academic staff, provided the academic staff members are given opportunity for career development and they receive good facilities and services for their well-being. The findings further revealed that external customers‟ satisfaction with administrative staff members, are very much affected by the HRM practices, except for selection. The relationships between turnover intention and HRM practices are rather low, yet significant except for recruitment which is found to be not significant. This study also found that turnover intention is positively related to HRM practices. This means that despite their satisfaction with the HRM practices, the employees have the intention of quitting their job for a better offer. The implications are discussed

This research investigates the elements that can encourage individuals to externalize and share tacit knowledge, which is critical in a continuous development of organizational learning-based information systems. To achieve this, self-talk therapy and proactive employee elements were utilized. The following objectives are proposed as a benchmark: (1) to develop the proactive employee elements in the respondents’ mindsets by using self-talk therapy training program; (2) to understand the roles of proactive employee elements in encouraging tacit knowledge externalization, sharing and documentation; (3) to investigate the roles of tacit knowledge externalization, sharing and documentation on a continuous information system (IS) database updates; and (4) to investigate the roles of IS database updates on organizational learning (OL). An in-depth case study approach was employed involving a manufacturing organization in Malaysia. The data was collected through interviews, observations, and documents review and analyzed using five-stage-hermeneutic analysis. The findings of this study indicated that the self-talk therapy training program were able to instill the proactive employee elements in the respondents’ mindsets. Being equipped with the proactive employee elements encourages the individuals to promote changes within their company. These elements in turn enable individuals to externalize, share and document tacit knowledge by producing ideas, actions, reactions and reflections. The documented tacit knowledge can be used to update organizational database. When the updated contents of organizational database are disseminated within the organization, a continuous learning is established. All these scenarios lead to the establishment of OL. This research offers a contribution to academic and business societies by presenting the elements that can encourage staff members to contribute inputs in terms of ideas, views or suggestions for OL-based IS development. This research also provides the decision makers with a platform that can reduce the dependency on the material rewards in motivating staff members

Publication count is used as one of the indicators of research productivity. It is also used to rank researchers, faculties, and academic institutions. The objective of this study is to identify what are the factors that influence publication productivity in Malaysia using SCOPUS database. This study utilised a systematic literature review methodology for academic articles for 5 years, starting from 2017 to 2021. Various factors that contribute to the publication output in many fields have been identified. These factors have been grouped under three main blocks which are individual, institutional, and situational factors. From 2017 to 2021, it shows that Malaysian research universities and private university have actively published articles. While social media platforms, notably Instagram, have gained traction among university students, this study sought to understand factors influencing their continued use among a segment of Malaysian university students. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the role of satisfaction (SAT) as a mediator in the relationship between various types of motivational needs and the continued intention (CI) to use Instagram. The motivational needs under study included cognitive needs (CN), affective needs (AN), personal integrative needs (PIN), social integrative needs (SIN), and escape needs (EN). This research was built on the foundations of the Uses and Gratifications Theory (UGT) and Expectation Confirmation Theory (ECT). Using a non-probablistic sampling strategy, this study gathered data via questionnaires from a sample of 384 students from six selected universities in Klang Valley. Within the scope of the research sample, a key finding emerged: SAT notably mediates the relationship between CN, SIN, PIN, and CI. This finding illustrates the pivotal role of SAT in the context of UGT and ECT, suggesting that SAT derived from Instagram usage is a critical factor in explaining the sustained engagement of university students, based on specific motivational needs. Within the context of this study's sampled participants, this result offers insights into how SAT, influenced by distinct motivational needs, may impact the intention to continue using Instagram. In practical terms, these insights may assist social media platform developers and educational institutions in understanding and addressing the satisfaction and engagement levels of university users. Simultaneously, the quota sampling strategy employed in this study serves as a valuable model for future research in similar contexts. However, this study recommend that future research expand the sample to include a broader cross-section of Malaysian university students to enhance representativeness and generalizability
