Student Guidance and Counseling based on Expert System Using Certainty Factor Method Abstract: Every campus or college has one service called guidance and counseling. This role is held by the academic advisory lecturer. The workload of academic advisory lecturers becomes high when the ratio of the number of lecturers to students is low. To ease the workload of academic advisory lecturers, an expert system is made that can facilitate students and academic advisory lecturers in overcoming existing problems. The development of this expert system uses the Expert System Development Life Cycle (ESDLC) development method. The application that was developed was then tested on Informatics Engineering students at Ibn Sina University. Tests include the Black Box tests. From the evaluation of the user obtained the results that the developed expert system can be used to deal with problems such as those that have been stored in the list of problem data and solutions. The aesthetic appearance of the system must be improved in order for users to be interested in using it. Some users suggest multimedia elements be included in the developed expert system view to make it look more attractive. Keywords: Guidance and Counseling, Certanty Factor, Expert Systems

Fuzzy Expert is designed to mimic the human decision process of the modular system, maintains the value of based rules and using fuzzy logic control the describe uncertainty systems and utilizes the predominance of using expert systems to denote and control knowledge (Medeiros et. al., 1998). This paper presents the development of Fuzzy Expert Advisory for e-Counselling. The advisory model in counseling using a modular system for the psychology testing process for Behavioural Academic Self-Esteem (BASE) is used to test the prototype developed in this study. The system was constructed using a modular system for the psychology testing process for Behavioural Academic Self-Esteem (BASE)is used to test the prototype developed in this study. The system was constructed using hierarchical structural approach. The system was developed using web-based application language that is Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) the server-side web scripting. The system comprises of five modules, namely Student Initiative of BASE Factor 1, Social Attention of BASE Factor 2, Success. Failure of BASE Factor 3, Social Attraction of BASE Factor 4, and Self-Confidence of BASE Factor 5. BASE test consists of sixteen items, categorized into the five main BASE factors. The Input to the system was first fuzzified and Fuzzy Associative Memory (FAM) table were constructed to handle the fuzzy rules of the five factors of BASE case study. The defuzzification known as Centre of Area (COA) is used to estimate the BASE factor and determine the level of academic self-esteem such as low self-esteem , moderate self-esteem, and high self-esteem. In addition, fuzzy expert advisory provides explanation and also explain how a diagnosis is reached for a particular case. The results showed that the fuzzy expert prototype system presented in this paper provided a reliable and accurate outcome after several test cases have been performed. Overall performance of this system was successfully tested and produced the results that were equal to an expert's judgment, thus accomplishing the set goals. The system has been verified by the counselors and the results produced by the system conform to the BASE factor rating scale and sub-scores

The graduate advanced psychiatric nursing (psychiatric nursing specialist) from master degree in Indonesia are about 70 nurses, 67 nurses were graduated from University of Indonesia. They are working at mental health services and educational setting around Indonesia and yet seem not ready to perform some specific advanced competencies in clinical area. The mastery on mental health assessment, neurochemical perspectives, medical management and psychotherapy have not yet performed by the psychiatric nurse specialist in the clinical area or community. To have those competencies and its performances, therefore the curriculum in a psychiatric nursing graduate program must include advanced courses in physiopsychology, psychopathology, advanced psychopharmacology, neurobehavioral science, advanced mental health assessment, and advanced treatment interventions such as psychotherapy and prescription and management of psychotropic medications as their core and major courses in the curriculum. Those courses should be performed in their clinical practice courses or other related learning experiences. When those qualifications are met, then they are competent to be called advanced psychiatric nurse. As advanced practice registered nurses, the advanced psychiatric nurses should be able to demonstrate their direct expertise and roles in advanced mental health assessment, diagnostic evaluation, psychopharmacology management, psychotherapy with individuals, group and families, case management, millieu management, liason and counselling from prevention, promotion until psychiatric rehabilitation. Meanwhile the skill such as psycho-education, teaching, unit management, research and staff development can be added as their indirect roles

This brief catalogues strategies commonly used in interventions at postsecondary educational institutions aimed at improving outcomes for male students of color and charts the way forward for future evaluative work. While young men of color have college and career aspirations similar to those of their white counterparts, a significant gap persists between the two groups' postsecondary educational attainment. In response, colleges around the country have implemented targeted programs offering male students of color a variety of support services, yet few of these initiatives have been evaluated. MDRC has conducted a scan of 82 such programs and will apply lessons from it and other research to a large-scale evaluation of program efficacy that it is currently developing in collaboration with the University System of Georgia. The need for evidence-based approaches that support men of color throughout the educational pipeline is evident, especially at the postsecondary level, where so many male students of color are close to reaching their goals and fulfilling their potential as college graduates
