An integrated formal methods tool-chain and its application to verifying a file system model
Tool interoperability as a mean to achieve integration is among the main goals of the international Grand Challenge initiative. In the context of the Verifiable file system mini-challenge put forward by Rajeev Joshi and Gerard Holzmann, this paper focuses on the integration of different formal methods and tools in modelling and verifying an abstract file system inspired by the Intel (R) Flash File System Core. We combine high-level manual specification and proofs with current state of the art mechanical verification tools into a tool-chain which involves Alloy, VDM++ and HOL. Checking Computations of Formal Method Tools - A Secondary Toolchain for ProB
We present the implementation of pyB, a predicate - and expression - checker
for the B language. The tool is to be used for a secondary tool chain for data
validation and data generation, with ProB being used in the primary tool chain.
Indeed, pyB is an independent cleanroom-implementation which is used to
double-check solutions generated by ProB, an animator and model-checker for B
specifications. One of the major goals is to use ProB together with pyB to
generate reliable outputs for high-integrity safety critical applications.
Although pyB is still work in progress, the ProB/pyB toolchain has already been

The TASTE Toolset: turning human designed heterogeneous systems into computer built homogeneous software.
The TASTE tool-set results from spin-off studies of the ASSERT project, which started in 2004 with the objective to propose innovative and pragmatic solutions to develop real-time software. One of the primary targets was satellite flight software, but it appeared quickly that their characteristics were shared among various embedded systems. The solutions that we developed now comprise a process and several tools ; the development process is based on the idea that real-time, embedded systems are heterogeneous by nature and that a unique UML-like language was not helping neither their construction, nor their validation. Rather than inventing yet another "ultimate" language, TASTE makes the link between existing and mature technologies such as Simulink, SDL, ASN.1, C, Ada, and generates complete, homogeneous software-based systems that one can straightforwardly download and execute on a physical target. Our current prototype is moving toward a marketed product, and sequel studies are already in place to support, among others, FPGA systems
The Dafny Integrated Development Environment
In recent years, program verifiers and interactive theorem provers have
become more powerful and more suitable for verifying large programs or proofs.
This has demonstrated the need for improving the user experience of these tools
to increase productivity and to make them more accessible to non-experts. This
paper presents an integrated development environment for Dafny-a programming
language, verifier, and proof assistant-that addresses issues present in most
state-of-the-art verifiers: low responsiveness and lack of support for
understanding non-obvious verification failures. The paper demonstrates several
new features that move the state-of-the-art closer towards a verification
environment that can provide verification feedback as the user types and can
present more helpful information about the program or failed verifications in a
