    Cloud computing and IoT integration for health checking system

    With the raise of technologies in the fourth industry revolution, Internet of things appeared as an emerging technology, especially, in the healthcare industry. The cloud computing as a main section of IoT structure can be a great integration to get more benefits to provide healthcare for our society. In this paper, researchers more concentrated on individuals and autonomous extension of solitary strategies, with less emphasis on patient monitoring. While the main aim of technology management of healthcare information systems has been accomplished throughout the proposed combination of Internet of Things and Cloud Computing in the context of medical profession. A low-cost, secure, and trusted healthcare tracking system that offers real-time monitoring dashboard for biological indicator has been proposed. The utilization of this integration to track and control health system was applied, thus, a remotely controlled platform based on the cloud computing design paradigm has been developed in the field of health information, while an efficient algorithms in future hospital cloud service and monitoring system implementations have examine and evaluate this design. A CloudSim simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm revealed better results from analogue anneals algorithm and ant colony optimal design with an improvement of 40% in the system efficiency. Therefore, the integrated proposed algorithm is of an importance to be developed and could be applied to non-coordinate system to improve solutions to the optimization and scattering

    A Viable LoRa Framework for Smart Cities

    This research is intended to provide practical insights to empower designers, developers and management to develop smart cities underpinned by Long Range (LoRa) technology. LoRa, one of most prevalent long-range wireless communication technologies, can be used to underpin the development of smart cities. This study draws upon relevant research to gain an understanding of underlying principles and issues involved in the design and management of long-range and low-power networks such as LoRa. This research uses empirical evidence that has been gathered through experiments with a LoRa network to analyse network design and identify challenges and then proposes cost-effective and timely solutions. Particularly, practical measurements of LoRa network dependencies and performance metrics are used to support our proposals. This research identifies a number of network performance metrics that need to be considered and controlled when designing and managing LoRa- specific networks from the perspectives of hardware, software, networking and security

    An Analytic Real-Time Framework for IoT based Home Automation System

    The Internet of Things or IoT means the ability to connect billions of physical devices around the world that are now linking to the internet for collecting and sharing data. Internet of Things (IoT) technologies is used to sense the real-time primordial manufacture data and included the energy alliance data and the provision circumstance data. The Internet of Things (IoT) will approve any contents to be sensed or monitored remotely wherever there any remaining network infrastructure, making amenities for the integration of the actual world into computer-based systems. Real-time narrates the path of flowing media is processing. In the real-time procedure, anyone can entrance information barring to narrate for it and save our time. In our proposed system, we build a system where we calculate real-time. To compute real-time, we need an IoT based automated system. And here we use an IoT based home automation system. We are passing data through the system for collecting data with the help of Cisco Packet Tracer simulator. For calculating real-time performance, we use six performance metrics to evaluate the event detection system performance. They are sensitivity, specificity, precision, accuracy, F1-score, and G-mean

    Security and the smart city: A systematic review

    The implementation of smart technology in cities is often hailed as the solution to many urban challenges such as transportation, waste management, and environmental protection. Issues of security and crime prevention, however, are in many cases neglected. Moreover, when researchers do introduce new smart security technologies, they rarely discuss their implementation or question how new smart city security might affect traditional policing and urban planning processes. This systematic review explores the recent literature concerned with new ‘smart city’ security technologies and aims to investigate to what extent these new interventions correspond with traditional functions of security interventions. Through an extensive literature search we compiled a list of security interventions for smart cities and suggest several changes to the conceptual status quo in the field. Ultimately, we propose three clear categories to categorise security interventions in smart cities: Those interventions that use new sensors but traditional actuators, those that seek to make old systems smart, and those that introduce entirely new functions. These themes are then discussed in detail and the importance of each group of interventions for the overall field of urban security and governance is assessed

    System for monitoring and supporting the treatment of sleep apnea using IoT and big data

    [EN] Sleep apnea has become in the sleep disorder that causes greater concern in recent years due to its morbidity and mortality, higher medical care costs and poor people quality of life. Some proposals have addressed sleep apnea disease in elderly people, but they have still some technical limitations. For these reasons, this paper presents an innovative system based on fog and cloud computing technologies which in combination with IoT and big data platforms offers new opportunities to build novel and innovative services for supporting the sleep apnea and to overcome the current limitations. Particularly, the system is built on several low-power wireless networks with heterogeneous smart devices (i.e, sensors and actuators). In the fog, an edge node (Smart IoT Gateway) provides IoT connection and interoperability and pre-processing IoT data to detect events in real-time that might endanger the elderly's health and to act accordingly. In the cloud, a Generic Enabler Context Broker manages, stores and injects data into the big data analyzer for further processing and analyzing. The system's performance and subjective applicability are evaluated using over 30 GB size datasets and a questionnaire fulfilled by medicals specialist, respectively. Results show that the system data analytics improve the health professionals' decision making to monitor and guide sleep apnea treatment, as well as improving elderly people's quality of life.     END TO END ENKRIPSI MENGGUNAKAN ADVANCED ENCRYPTION STANDARD PADA PERANGKAT INTERNET OF THINGS

    Penerapan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) di berbagai bidang di dalam kehidupan sehari-hari menyebabkan diperlukannya sebuah teknik pengamanan data untuk mencegah terjadinya tindak kejahatan yang dapat merugikan pengguna. Penggunaan algoritma kriptografi Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengamankan data yang tersimpan pada perangkat IoT sehingga data tersebut tetap dalam keadaan aman pada saat proses pengiriman dilakukan dengan perangkat IoT lainnya. Penerapan AES dilakukan pada sistem IoT dengan menguji mekanisme monitoring dan controlling untuk memastikan keamanan data. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan AES mode Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) dapat memberikan pengamanan data saat melakukan proses pengiriman data dari perangkat IoT sampai dengan aplikasi dashboard monitoring
