Invariant functionals on completely distributive lattices
In this paper we are interested in functionals defined on completely
distributive lattices and which are invariant under mappings preserving
{arbitrary} joins and meets. We prove that the class of nondecreasing invariant
functionals coincides with the class of Sugeno integrals associated with
-valued capacities, the so-called term functionals, thus extending
previous results both to the infinitary case as well as to the realm of
completely distributive lattices. Furthermore, we show that, in the case of
functionals over complete chains, the nondecreasing condition is redundant.
Characterizations of the class of Sugeno integrals, as well as its superclass
comprising all polynomial functionals, are provided by showing that the
axiomatizations (given in terms of homogeneity) of their restriction to
finitary functionals still hold over completely distributive lattices. We also
present canonical normal form representations of polynomial functionals on
completely distributive lattices, which appear as the natural extensions to
their finitary counterparts, and as a by-product we obtain an axiomatization of
complete distributivity in the case of bounded lattices
Consensus theories: an oriented survey
This article surveys seven directions of consensus theories: Arrowian results, federation consensus rules, metric consensus rules, tournament solutions, restricted domains, abstract consensus theories, algorithmic and complexity issues. This survey is oriented in the sense that it is mainly – but not exclusively – concentrated on the most significant results obtained, sometimes with other searchers, by a team of French searchers who are or were full or associate members of the Centre d'Analyse et de Mathématique Sociale (CAMS).Consensus theories ; Arrowian results ; aggregation rules ; metric consensus rules ; median ; tournament solutions ; restricted domains ; lower valuations ; median semilattice ; complexity
Some characterizations of T-power based implications
Recently, the so-called family of T-power based implications was introduced. These operators involve the use of Zadeh’s quantifiers based on powers of t-norms in its definition. Due to the fact that Zadeh’s quantifiers constitute the usual method to modify fuzzy propositions, this family of fuzzy implication functions satisfies an important property in approximate reasoning such as the invariance of the truth value of the fuzzy conditional when both the antecedent and the consequent are modified using the same quantifier. In this paper, an in-depth analysis of this property is performed by characterizing all binary functions satisfying it. From this general result, a fully characterization of the family of T-power based implications is presented. Furthermore, a second characterization is also proved in which surprisingly the invariance property is not explicitly used.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
Fuzzy Implications: Some Recently Solved Problems
In this chapter we discuss some open problems related to fuzzy implications, which have either been completely solved or those for which partial answers are known. In fact, this chapter also contains the answer for one of the open problems, which is hitherto unpublished. The recently solved problems are so chosen to reflect the importance of the problem or the significance of the solution. Finally, some other problems that still remain unsolved are stated for quick reference
Axiomatic structure of k-additive capacities
In this paper we deal with the problem of axiomatizing the preference relations modelled through Choquet integral with respect to a -additive capacity, i.e. whose Möbius transform vanishes for subsets of more than elements. Thus, -additive capacities range from probability measures () to general capacities (). The axiomatization is done in several steps, starting from symmetric 2-additive capacities, a case related to the Gini index, and finishing with general -additive capacities. We put an emphasis on 2-additive capacities. Our axiomatization is done in the framework of social welfare, and complete previous results of Weymark, Gilboa and Ben Porath, and Gajdos.Axiomatic; Capacities; k-Additivity
