Sufficient Conditions for Polynomial Asymptotic Behaviour of the Stochastic Pantograph Equation
This paper studies the asymptotic growth and decay properties of solutions of
the stochastic pantograph equation with multiplicative noise. We give
sufficient conditions on the parameters for solutions to grow at a polynomial
rate in -th mean and in the almost sure sense. Under stronger conditions the
solutions decay to zero with a polynomial rate in -th mean and in the almost
sure sense. When polynomial bounds cannot be achieved, we show for a different
set of parameters that exponential growth bounds of solutions in -th mean
and an almost sure sense can be obtained. Analogous results are established for
pantograph equations with several delays, and for general finite dimensional
equations.Comment: 29 pages, to appear Electronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of

Strong convergence rates for backward Euler–Maruyama method for non-linear dissipative-type stochastic differential equations with super-linear diffusion coefficients
In this work, we generalize the current theory of strong convergence rates for the backward Euler–Maruyama scheme for highly non-linear stochastic differential equations, which appear in both mathematical finance and bio-mathematics. More precisely, we show that under a dissipative condition on the drift coefficient and superlinear growth condition on the diffusion coefficient the BEM scheme converges with strong order of a half. This type of convergence gives theoretical foundations for efficient variance reduction techniques for Monte Carlo simulations. We support our theoretical results with relevant examples, such as stochastic population models and stochastic volatility models
Strong convergence and stability of implicit numerical methods for stochastic differential equations with non-globally Lipschitz continuous coefficients
We are interested in the strong convergence and almost sure stability of
Euler-Maruyama (EM) type approximations to the solutions of stochastic
differential equations (SDEs) with non-linear and non-Lipschitzian
coefficients. Motivation comes from finance and biology where many widely
applied models do not satisfy the standard assumptions required for the strong
convergence. In addition we examine the globally almost surely asymptotic
stability in this non-linear setting for EM type schemes. In particular, we
present a stochastic counterpart of the discrete LaSalle principle from which
we deduce stability properties for numerical methods
The Almost Sure Asymptotic Stability and Boundedness of Stochastic Functional Differential Equations with Polynomial Growth Condition
Stability and boundedness are two of the most important topics in the study of stochastic functional differential equations (SFDEs). This paper mainly discusses the almost sure asymptotic stability and the boundedness of nonlinear SFDEs satisfying the local Lipschitz condition but not the linear growth condition. Here we assume that the coefficients of SFDEs are polynomial or dominated by polynomial functions. We give sufficient criteria on the almost sure asymptotic stability and the boundedness for this kind of nonlinear SFDEs. Some nontrivial examples are provided to illustrate our results
Generalised theory on asymptotic stability and boundedness of stochastic functional differential equations
Asymptotic stability and boundedness have been two of most popular topics in the study of stochastic functional differential equations (SFDEs) (see e.g. Appleby and Reynolds (2008), Appleby and Rodkina (2009), Basin and Rodkina (2008), Khasminskii (1980), Mao (1995), Mao (1997), Mao (2007), Rodkina and Basin (2007), Shu, Lam, and Xu (2009), Yang, Gao, Lam, and Shi (2009), Yuan and Lygeros (2005) and Yuan and Lygeros (2006)). In general, the existing results on asymptotic stability and boundedness of SFDEs require (i) the coefficients of the SFDEs obey the local Lipschitz condition and the linear growth condition; (ii) the diffusion operator of the SFDEs acting on a C2,1-function be bounded by a polynomial with the same order as the C2,1-function. However, there are many SFDEs which do not obey the linear growth condition. Moreover, for such highly nonlinear SFDEs, the diffusion operator acting on a C2,1-function is generally bounded by a polynomial with a higher order than the C2,1-function. Hence the existing criteria on stability and boundedness for SFDEs are not applicable andwesee the necessity to develop new criteria. Our main aim in this paper is to establish new criteria where the linear growth condition is no longer needed while the up-bound for the diffusion operator may take a much more general form
Analysis on exponential stability of hybrid pantograph stochastic differential equations with highly nonlinear coefficients
This paper discusses exponential stability of solutions for highly nonlinear hybrid pantograph stochastic differential equations (PSDEs). Two criteria are proposed to guarantee exponential stability of the solution. The first criterion is a Khasminskii-type condition involving general Lyapunov functions. The second is developed on coefficients of the equation in virtue of M-matrix techniques. Based on the second criterion, robust stability of a perturbed hybrid PSDE is also investigated. The theory shows how much an exponentially stable hybrid PSDE can tolerate to remain stable
Asymptotic stability and boundedness of stochastic functional differential equations with Markovian switching
This paper is concerned with the boundedness, exponential stability and almost sure asymptotic stability of stochastic functional differential equations (SFDEs) with Markovian switching. The key technique used is the method of multiple Lyapunov functions. We use two auxiliary functions to dominate the corresponding different Lyapunov function in different mode while the diffusion operator in different model is controlled by other multiple auxiliary functions. Our conditions on the diffusion operator are weaker than those in the related existing works
Structured robust stability and boundedness of nonlinear hybrid delay systems
Taking different structures in different modes into account, the paper has developed a new theory on the structured robust stability and boundedness for nonlinear hybrid stochastic differential delay equations (SDDEs) without the linear growth condition. A new Lyapunov function is designed in order to deal with the effects of different structures as well as those of different parameters within the same modes. Moreover, a lot of effort is put into showing the almost sure asymptotic stability in the absence of the linear growth condition
