Development of a dc-ac power conditioner for wind generator by using neural network
This project present of development single phase DC-AC converter for wind
generator application. The mathematical model of the wind generator and Artificial
Neural Network control for DC-AC converter is derived. The controller is designed to
stabilize the output voltage of DC-AC converter. To verify the effectiveness of the
proposal controller, both simulation and experimental are developed. The simulation and
experimental result show that the amplitude of output voltage of the DC-AC converter
can be controlled
Experimental Demonstration of Staggered CAP Modulation for Low Bandwidth Red-Emitting Polymer-LED based Visible Light Communications
In this paper we experimentally demonstrate, for the first time, staggered
carrier-less amplitude and phase (sCAP) modulation for visible light
communication systems based on polymer light-emitting diodes emitting at ~639
nm. The key advantage offered by sCAP in comparison to conventional multiband
CAP is its full use of the available spectrum. In this work, we compare sCAP,
which utilises four orthogonal filters to generate the signal, with a
conventional 4-band multi-CAP system and on-off keying (OOK). We transmit each
modulation format with equal energy and present a record un-coded transmission
speed of ~6 Mb/s. This represents gains of 25% and 65% over the achievable rate
using 4-CAP and OOK, respectively.Comment: 6 pages, 9 figures, IEEE ICC 2019 conferenc
Recent Results From the EU POF-PLUS Project: Multi-Gigabit Transmission Over 1 mm Core Diameter Plastic Optical Fibers
Recent activity to achieve multi-gigabit transmission over 1 mm core diameter graded-index and step-index plastic optical fibers for distances up to 50 meters is reported in this paper. By employing a simple intensity-modulated direct-detection system with pulse amplitude or digital multi-tone modulation techniques, low-cost transceivers and easy to install large-core POFs, it is demonstrated that multi-gigabit transmission up to 10 Gbit/s over 1-mm core diameter POF infrastructure is feasible. The results presented in this paper were obtained in the EU FP7 POF-PLUS project, which focused on applications in different scenarios, such as in next-generation in-building residential networks and in datacom applications
56+ Gb/s serial transmission using duo-binary signaling
In this paper we present duobinary signaling as an alternative for signaling schemes like PAM4 and Ensemble NRZ that are currently being considered as ways to achieve data rates of 56 Gb/s over copper.
At the system level, the design includes a custom transceiver ASIC. The transmitter is capable of equalizing 56 Gb/s non-return to zero (NRZ) signals into a duobinary response at the output of the channel. The receiver includes dedicated hardware to decode the duobinary signal. This transceiver is used to demonstrate error-free transmission for different PCB channel lengths including a state-of-the-art Megtron 6 backplane demonstrator
Impact of 4D channel distribution on the achievable rates in coherent optical communication experiments
We experimentally investigate mutual information and generalized mutual
information for coherent optical transmission systems. The impact of the
assumed channel distribution on the achievable rate is investigated for
distributions in up to four dimensions. Single channel and wavelength division
multiplexing (WDM) transmission over transmission links with and without inline
dispersion compensation are studied. We show that for conventional WDM systems
without inline dispersion compensation, a circularly symmetric complex Gaussian
distribution is a good approximation of the channel. For other channels, such
as with inline dispersion compensation, this is no longer true and gains in the
achievable information rate are obtained by considering more sophisticated
four-dimensional (4D) distributions. We also show that for nonlinear channels,
gains in the achievable information rate can also be achieved by estimating the
mean values of the received constellation in four dimensions. The highest gain
for such channels is seen for a 4D correlated Gaussian distribution
