Static correction of Maude programs with assertions

    Get PDF
[Otros] In this paper, we present a novel transformation method for Maude programs featuring both automatic program diagnosis and correction. The input of our method is a reference specification of the program behavior that is given in the form of assertions together with an overly general program whose execution might violate the assertions. Our correction technique translates into a refined program in which every computation is also a computation in that satisfies the assertions of . The technique is first formalized for topmost rewrite theories, and then we generalize it to larger classes of rewrite theories that support nested structured configurations. Our technique copes with infinite space states and does not require the knowledge of any failing run. We report experiments that assess the effectiveness of assertion-driven correction. This work has been partially supported by the EU (FEDER) and the Spanish Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad under grant TIN2015-69175-C4-1-R, and by Generalitat Valenciana PROMETEOII/2015/013 and PROMETEO/2019/098Alpuente Frasnedo, M.; Ballis, D.; Sapiña-Sanchis, J. Change and Transformation: The Harp as a Symbol of Liminality in Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker (1892)

The harp is a musical instrument with a uniquely resonating timbre, and a highly specialized expressive niche within the orchestral repertoire. A deeper study of the harp’s metaphorical use is conducted in this report by evaluating the historical context in which the harp emerged, analyzing the timbre of the modern double-action pedal harp, and reviewing the historically significant ensemble works to reveal why composers elected to feature the harp in the orchestra, in lieu of and in conjunction with other instruments. Each of these elements points squarely towards the use of the harp to represent liminal themes and the universal sentiments associated with experiencing change and transformation. To this end, the harp parts from the score of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker (1892) are analyzed, alongside the theatrical cues of the first edition ballet score, and E.T.A. Hoffman’s original fairytale narrative that the ballet libretto was based on. The orchestration of two harp parts in the original score, featured at the points of the many transformational thresholds in the narrative make The Nutcracker ballet a particularly compelling piece to study, with striking examples of how the harp’s timbre is used to effectively express liminality

Bridging Funds of Knowledge in Learning to Teach: The Story of a Japanese Pre-service Teacher’s Authentic Teaching Practicum Experience

    Get PDF
The field of early childhood education and care has been in the forefront of setting the effort to increase diversity in its teaching force. Little is known about learning processes of teachers with diverse backgrounds in teacher education and what experiences and knowledge they bring to the field to educate and care for our youngest children. This qualitative case study tells stories of an Asian pre-service teacher during her process of becoming an early childhood educator through exploring her personal and cultural funds of knowledge based on her teaching practicum experiences. By listening carefully to her voice in her process of becoming a teacher, we hope that teacher educators and teacher preparation programs can gain new understandings to better support pre-service teachers with diverse backgrounds in their processes of teacher development

Radio Broadcasting Experience and Development Prospects (European Scientific Dialogue)

The paper presents an analysis of various opinions concerning radio-industry development issues, given new IT processes implemented in mass media. The authors study the technological evolution of radio broadcasting in terms of analyzing its main development stages. They provide an assessment of listeners’ high confidence in radio broadcasts as compared to other mass media sources. Focus is placed on promoting sonic brands in the sphere of media-communication. The researchers also pay special attention to podcasting as a new way to listen to audio-content. The advantages and possible consequences of podcasting influence on radio-industry are assessed. The research is based on the expert discussion on radio broadcasting issues which took place at “Radiodays Europe 2019”

Triz Methodology and an Application Example for Product Development

AbstractExplanation of innovative products, processes and services is a complex process which is possessed of strategies that have modern designs and systems. Nowadays, companies want to be more productive and more efficient. However, rapid and big changes are happened in competitive conditions and to exist in this competitive and rapidly changing and flourishing world, scientific developments had to be followed. To gain competitiveness, the companies need to procreate new products or eliminating the existing contradictory states. In this case, TRIZ (Theory And Innovative Problem Solving) methodolgy is one of the most effective scientific method, used by managers or inventors. In this study, TRIZ methodolgy was described in detail with creativity and innovation concepts and TRIZ was presented in comparison with other creative techniques. In the last part, a sample about TRIZ application has been expressed
