Adaptive Sliding Mode Control of Chaos in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor via Fuzzy Neural Networks

    Get PDF
In this paper, based on fuzzy neural networks, we develop an adaptive sliding mode controller for chaos suppression and tracking control in a chaotic permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive system. The proposed controller consists of two parts. The first is an adaptive sliding mode controller which employs a fuzzy neural network to estimate the unknown nonlinear models for constructing the sliding mode controller. The second is a compensational controller which adaptively compensates estimation errors. For stability analysis, the Lyapunov synthesis approach is used to ensure the stability of controlled systems. Finally, simulation results are provided to verify the validity and superiority of the proposed method

The design of quasi-sliding mode control for a permanent magnet synchronous motor with unmatched uncertainties

    Get PDF
AbstractIn this study, the concept of a quasi-sliding mode control (QSMC) is introduced for the robust control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) system subjected to unmatched uncertainties, and even with input nonlinearity. On the basis of the new concept of QSMC, continuous control is obtained, to avoid the chattering phenomenon. As expected, the system state can be stabilized and driven into a predictable neighborhood of zero. Also, this approach only uses a single controller to achieve chaos control, which reduces the cost and complexity of implementation. The results of numerical simulations demonstrate the validity of the proposed QSMC design method

Rikitake dynamo system (1958) is a famous two-disk dynamo model that is capable of executing nonlinear chaotic oscillations similar to the chaotic oscillations as revealed by palaeomagnetic study. First, we detail the Rikitake dynamo system, its signal plots and important dynamic properties. Then a circuit design using Multisim is carried out for the Rikitake dynamo system. New synchronous quasi-sliding mode control (QSMC) for Rikitake chaotic system is studied in this paper. Furthermore, the selection on switching surface and the existence of QSMC scheme is also designed in this paper. The efficiency of the QSMC scheme is illustrated with MATLAB plots

CHAOS SYNCHRONIZATION USING SUPER-TWISTING SLIDING MODE CONTROL APPLIED ON CHUA’S CIRCUIT

    Get PDF
Chua’s circuit is the classic chaotic system and the most widely used in serval areas due to its potential for secure communication. However, developing an accurate chaos control strategy is one of the most challenging works for Chua’s circuit. This study proposes a new application of super twisting algorithm (STC) based on sliding mode control (SMC) to eliminate or synchronize the chaos behavior in the circuit. Therefore, the proposed control strategy is robust against uncertainty and effectively regulates the system with a good regulation tracking task. Using the Lyapunov stability, the property of asymptotical stability is verified. The whole of the system including the (control strategy, and Chua’s circuit) is implemented under a suitable test setup based on dSpace1104 to validate the effectiveness of our proposed control scheme. The experimental results show that the proposed control method can effectively eliminate or synchronize the chaos in the Chua's circuit

A quasi-sliding mode control (QSMC) to suppress chaos for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with parameters fall into a certain area is proposed in this paper. Especially, based on the new concept of QSMC, continuous control input is obtained to avoid chattering phenomenon. As expected, the system states can be driven to zero or into a predictable and adjustable bound even when uncertainties are present. Numerical simulations demonstrate the validity of the proposed QSMC design method

Robust Adaptive Fuzzy Control of Chaos in the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

An adaptive fuzzy control method is developed to control chaos in the permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system via backstepping. Fuzzy logic systems are used to approximate unknown nonlinearities, and an adaptive backstepping technique is employed to construct controllers. The proposed controller can suppress the chaos of PMSM and track the reference signal successfully. The simulation results illustrate its effectiveness

Linear robust output−feedback control for permanent−magnet synchronous motors with unknown load

    No full text
International audienceWe solve the problem of set-point (respectively, tracking) control of a permanent-magnet synchronous motor via linear time-invariant (respectively, time varying) control. Our control approach is based on the physical properties of the machine: inherent stability and robustness to external disturbances. Our analysis is carried out under mild conditions, using cascaded systems theory. For all cases: constant operating point, trajectory tracking, and with known and unknown load, we show uniform global asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system with a linear controller that uses only velocity measurements. Furthermore, we explore natural extensions of our results to improve robustness with respect to external disturbances and parametric uncertainties

A New Chaotic System with Line of Equilibria: Dynamics, Passive Control and Circuit Design

    Get PDF
A new chaotic system with line equilibrium is introduced in this paper. This system consists of five terms with two transcendental nonlinearities and two quadratic nonlinearities. Various tools of dynamical system such as phase portraits, Lyapunov exponents, Kaplan-Yorke dimension, bifurcation diagram and Poincarè map are used. It is interesting that this system has a line of fixed points and can display chaotic attractors. Next, this paper discusses control using passive control method. One example is given to insure the theoretical analysis. Finally, for the  new chaotic system, An electronic circuit for realizing the chaotic system has been implemented. The numerical simulation by using MATLAB 2010 and implementation of circuit simulations by using MultiSIM 10.0 have been performed in this study
