A Spatial Domain Image Steganography Technique Based on Plane Bit Substitution Method

Steganography is the art and science of hiding information by embedding data into cover media. In this paper we propose a new method of information hiding in digital image in spatial domain. In this method we use Plane Bit Substitution Method (PBSM) technique in which message bits are embedded into the pixel value(s) of an image. We first, proposed a Steganography transformation machine (STM) for solving Binary operation for manipulation of original image with help to least significant bit (LSB) operator based matching. Second, we use pixel encryption and decryption techniques under theoretical and experimental evolution. Our experimental, techniques are sufficient to discriminate analysis of stego and cover image as each pixel based PBSM, and operand with LSB

Steganography: a class of secure and robust algorithms

This research work presents a new class of non-blind information hiding algorithms that are stego-secure and robust. They are based on some finite domains iterations having the Devaney's topological chaos property. Thanks to a complete formalization of the approach we prove security against watermark-only attacks of a large class of steganographic algorithms. Finally a complete study of robustness is given in frequency DWT and DCT domains.Comment: Published in The Computer Journal special issue about steganograph

The paper presents that encryption of compressed video bit streams and hiding privacy information to protect videos during transmission or cloud storage. Digital video sometimes needs to be stored and processed in an encrypted format to maintain security and privacy. Here, data hiding directly in the encrypted version of H.264/AVC video stream is approached, which includes the following three parts. By analyzing he property of H.264/AVC codec, the code words of intra prediction modes, the code words of motion vector differences, and the code words of residual coefficients are encrypted with stream ciphers. Then, a data hider may embed additional data in the encrypted domain by using wrapping technique, without knowing the original video content. The paper results shows that used methods provides better performance in terms of computation efficiency, high data security and video quality after decryption. The parameters such as RMSE, PSNR, CC are evaluated to measure its efficienc

Steganography, the art and science of carrying out hidden communication, is an emergingsub-discipline of information security. Unlike cryptography, steganography conceals the existenceof a secret message by embedding it in an innocuous container digital media, thereby enablingunobstrusive communication over insecure channels. Detection and extraction of steganographiccontents is another challenge for the information security professional and this activity iscommonly known as steganalysis. Recent progress in steganalysis has posed a challenge fordesign and development of stegosystems with high levels of security and survivability. In thispaper, different strategies have been presented that can be used to escape detection and foilan eavesdropper having high technical capabilities as well as adequate infrastructure. Based onthe strength and weaknesses of current steganographic schemes, ideas have been progressedto make detection and destruction of hidden information more difficult

A comparative study of steganography using watermarking and modifications pixels versus least significant bit

This article presents a steganography proposal based on embedding data expressed in base 10 by directly replacing the pixel values from images red, green blue (RGB) with a novel compression technique based on watermarks. The method considers a manipulation of the object to be embedded through a data compression triple process via LZ77 and base 64, watermark from low-quality images, embedded via discrete wavelet transformation-singular value decomposition (DWT-SVD), message embedded by watermark is recovered with data loss calculated, the watermark image and lost data is compressed again using LZ77 and base 64 to generate the final message. The final message is embedded in portable network graphic (PNG) images taken from the Microsoft common objects in context (COCO), ImageNet and uncompressed color image database (UCID) datasets, through a filtering process pixel of the images, where the selected pixels expressed in base 10, and the final message data is embedded by replacing units’ position of each pixel. In experimentation results an average of 40 dB in peak signal noise to ratio (PSNR) and 0.98 in the similarity structural index metric (SSIM) evaluation were obtained, and evasion steganalysis rates of up to 93% for stego-images, the data embedded average is 3.2 bpp

The development of the medical field had led to the transformation of communication from paper information into the digital form. Medical information security had become a great concern as the medical field is moving towards the digital world and hence patient information, disease diagnosis and so on are all being stored in the digital image. Therefore, to improve the medical information security, securing of patient information and the increasing requirements for communication to be transferred between patients, client, medical practitioners, and sponsors is essential to be secured. The core aim of this research is to make available a complete knowledge about the research trends on LSB Steganography Technique, which are applied to securing medical information such as text, image, audio, video and graphics and also discuss the efficiency of the LSB technique. The survey findings show that LSB steganography technique is efficient in securing medical information from intruder
