    A Vision of DevOps Requirements Change Management Standardization

    DevOps (development and operations) aims to shorten the software development process and provide continuous delivery with high software quality. To get the potential gains of DevOps, the software development industry considering global software development (GSD) environment to hire skilled human resources and round-the-clock working hours. However, due to the lack of frequent communication and coordination in GSD, the planning and managing of the requirements change process becomes a challenging task. As in DevOps, requirements are not only shaped by development feedback but also by the operations team. This means requirements affect development, development affects operations and operations affect requirements. However, DevOps in GSD still faces many challenges in terms of requirement management. The purpose of this research project is to develop a DevOps requirement change management and implementation maturity model (DevOps-RCMIMM) that could assist the GSD organizations in modifying and improving their requirement management process in the DevOps process. The development of DevOps-RCMIMM will be based on the existing DevOps and RCM literature, industrial empirical study, and understanding of factors that could impact the implementation of the DevOps requirement change management process in the domain of GSD. This vision study presents the initial results of a systematic literature review that will contribute to the development of maturity levels of the proposed DevOps-RCMIMM

    Leadership and management competencies for hospital managers: a systematic review and best-fit framework synthesis

    Objective: Competent managers are vital to the productivity and service quality of healthcare organizations and the sustainability of the healthcare system. To improve their management competence, understanding of management competency requirements is important. The purpose of this study was to synthesize the evidence related to the leadership and management competencies in healthcare organizations through the best-fit method. Methods: A systematic review of literature published between 2000 and 2020 was performed to identify studies focusing on confirming and/or identifying the competency requirements of hospital managers. The best-fit framework synthesis method was used to map the identified competencies and associated behavioral items against the validated management competency assessment program (MCAP) management competency framework. Results: Twelve studies were identified for inclusion in the review. The mapping of the identified competencies and behavioral items generated a competency model for hospital managers that can apply for different healthcare context. The new competency model includes the following seven core leadership and management competencies: evidence-informed decision-making, operations, administration and resource management, knowledge of healthcare environment and the organization, interpersonal, communication qualities and relationship management, leading people and organisation, enabling and managing change, and professionalism. Conclusion: This review and the mapping of the competencies identified in previous studies against the validated MCAP framework has resulted in the recommendation for an extended leadership and management competency framework for health service managers. It provides guidance for the formulation of training and development directions for the health service management workforce in a different healthcare context

    Adoption of artificial intelligence based technologies in sub-saharan african agriculture

    Dissertation presented as the partial requirement for obtaining a Master's degree in Information Management, specialization in Knowledge Management and Business IntelligenceSub-Saharan Africa (SSA) is currently facing numerous agriculture related challenges such as climate change, lacking infrastructure, and limited institutional as well as economic support. However, current research does not provide holistic solutions to this problem. This study aims to shed light on this topic through the development of a model that can be used to assess the solution potential as well as high-level implementation requirements of selected artificial intelligence (AI) based agriculture technologies in the context of SSA. To thoroughly develop the above-mentioned model a design science approach was followed. First an in depth (systematic) literature review was conducted where the agriculture related challenges in SSA and state-of-the-art AI-based agriculture technologies are detailed. This step was followed by the creation of a model that aims to find a nexus between the researched challenges and available technologies as potential solutions. Furthermore, the framework outlines context specific technology adoption requirements. Lastly, expert interviews were conducted to validate and revise the proposed model. The final framework clearly highlights the positive impact AI based technologies can have in SSA’s agriculture and the basic conditions that need to be met to successfully implement them

    Osteotomies for avascular necrosis of the femoral head.

    Background: In osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH), blood supply is insufficient for the metabolic requirements of the bone. The initial management is conservative, and, in case of failure, surgery is indicated. Osteotomies aim to change the spatial position of the necrotic portion of the femoral head. This systematic review evaluates the effectiveness and safety of osteotomies for ONFH.Source of data: The systematic review, organized, conducted and reported following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines, was performed on PubMed and Google Scholar. We analysed outcomes in term of Harris Hip Score, leg shortening, secondary collapse and blood loss. We also verified the percentage of patients who required total hip replacement (THR) after osteotomy for ONFH.Areas of agreement: A total of 16 articles were selected, including 775 patients and 852 osteotomies [curved varus osteotomy in 369 (43.3%) patients; transtrochanteric rotational osteotomy in 435 (51.05%) patients; half wedge osteotomy in 48 (5.6%) patients]. There was an overall THR conversion rate of 31.5% (268 hips on 852 osteotomies).Areas of controversy: There were no prospective randomized trials, and the outcome measures employed were often heterogeneous.Growing points: Approximately one-third of the osteotomies performed in cases of ONFH are converted to THR over a period of similar to 7 years. In older patients, primary THR should be considered, especially as the conversion to THR after osteotomy is technically demanding.Areas timely for developing research: Randomized clinical studies should be conducted in order to define the parameters of the patient that can direct towards the most suitable osteotomic technique

    Water Quality Data to Support Cumulative Effects Decision-Making in the Mackenzie Valley, Northwest Territories

    Freshwater systems have come under increasing stress as a result of anthropogenic activities and climate change. Across Canada’s North, the assessment and management of cumulative effects to freshwater systems remain an enduring challenge to responsible resource management decisions. Recent practice and research indicates a clear need to improve how cumulative effects are assessed and managed, and to bridge the gap between the science conducted inside and outside environmental assessments. Science inside environmental assessment refers to monitoring conducted for environmental assessments and under water license requirements and science outside environmental assessment refers to monitoring conducted for environmental effects monitoring programs. This research examined how environmental monitoring programs in the Mackenzie Valley, Northwest Territories, contribute to the identification, understanding and management of cumulative effects to freshwater systems. The research methods involved a document review to assess the nature of monitoring conducted by project proponents under water licensing requirements as well as the monitoring conducted, and supported, by government agencies for environmental effects monitoring. Semi-structured interviews complemented the review to determine the utility of existing data to develop environmental baselines and to predict cumulative effects. Interviewees included staff from land and water boards, industry proponents, consultants, independent mine oversight boards and various levels of government. Key findings suggest that there are several challenges, including the lack of common understanding of cumulative effects, uncertainty over responsibility for them, degree of participation required among stakeholders and inaccessibility of both government- and proponent-based data. Ultimately, this may be preventing cumulative effects from being assessed, and appropriately managed, in a comprehensive, consistent and systematic manner. While it is evident that a great deal of environmental monitoring is conducted in the Northwest Territories, results indicate it requires a more deliberate approach to ensure that the data collected support cumulative effects assessment and management initiatives at both the local (i.e. project) and more regional scales. These results will both aid in advancing the integration of government- and proponent-based environmental monitoring and be of direct value for regulatory decision-making by land and water boards in the North

This technology, alone or in addition to other technologies has been considered as a possible solution to reduce problems that endanger public health or to improve its management. This scoping review aims to provide readers with an up-to-date picture of the use of this technology in health care settings. Methods This scoping review examines the state of RFID technology in the healthcare area for the period 2017-2022, specifically addressing RFID versatility and investigating how this technology can contribute to radically change the management of public health. The guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) have been followed. Literature reviews or surveys were excluded. Only articles describing technologies implemented on a real environment or on prototypes were included. Results The search returned 366 results. After screening, based on title and abstract, 58 articles were considered suitable for this work. 11 articles were reviewed because they met the qualifying requirements. The study of the selected articles highlighted six matters that can be profitably impacted by this technology Conclusion The selected papers show that this technology can improve patient safety by reducing medical errors, that can occur within operating rooms. It can also be the solution to overcome the problem of the black market in counterfeiting drugs, or as a prevention tool. Further research is needed, especially on data management, security, and privacy, given the sensitive nature of medical information

    CONDA-PM -- A Systematic Review and Framework for Concept Drift Analysis in Process Mining

    Business processes evolve over time to adapt to changing business environments. This requires continuous monitoring of business processes to gain insights into whether they conform to the intended design or deviate from it. The situation when a business process changes while being analysed is denoted as Concept Drift. Its analysis is concerned with studying how a business process changes, in terms of detecting and localising changes and studying the effects of the latter. Concept drift analysis is crucial to enable early detection and management of changes, that is, whether to promote a change to become part of an improved process, or to reject the change and make decisions to mitigate its effects. Despite its importance, there exists no comprehensive framework for analysing concept drift types, affected process perspectives, and granularity levels of a business process. This article proposes the CONcept Drift Analysis in Process Mining (CONDA-PM) framework describing phases and requirements of a concept drift analysis approach. CONDA-PM was derived from a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of current approaches analysing concept drift. We apply the CONDA-PM framework on current approaches to concept drift analysis and evaluate their maturity.
