A Comparative Study on Cyber Ethics, Religious Awareness and Satisfaction in Using Facebook for Social Networking
Throughout the internetâs evolution , debates on cyber ethics had raised concerns within the educational system. New ethical dilemmas turned to emerge out of compounding facebook communication among users. Ethical behaviour involving computer networking has immense power in promoting not only valuable academic networking, but could be shifted for self-fulfillment and even for evil ends. The issue of moral behavior involving computer networking is defined as cyber ethics. Arief, Dana, and Aniati (2011) synthesized the definition of ethics as right or wrong behavior based on respect. Studies relating to moral values further, systemize, defend and recommend concepts of right and wrong behavior. Despite the arguments of ethics as guidelines of social behavior and reflections of morality, Kaddu (2007) conceptualizes ethics as a set of values that lead to happiness, success and fulfillment. Guarded with some religious awareness, will cyber ethics makes a difference across boundaries and could religious values guide usage satisfaction during Facebook communication? This paper aims to clear doubts on cyber ethics using samples drawn from Facebook social communication among Malaysian and Indonesian undergraduates. It shall identify patterns of relationship between cyber ethics, religious awareness and usage satisfaction. The paper also discusses some implications of these relationships to reveal the level of satisfaction in using Facebook.Questionnaires were distributed to selected universities from Indonesia and Malaysia; 200 undergraduates responded. Correlation, independent t-test and multiple regression analysis were conducted on the data set. The measurement level such as honesty, truthfulness and respect were applied. The study revealed that cyber ethics across boundaries was significantly different. There is a significant relationship between religious awareness and cyber ethics. Facebook communication in the two countries was used by respondents with some religious awareness. This relationship has significant influence on the level of satisfaction while communicating in social networking sites.

Mobile learning: a meta-ethical taxonomy
In this paper I discuss some of the ethical issues relating to the use of mobile technologies in education. I argue that the frames of reference used by educators and technologists fail to capture the nature, scope and impact of ethical issues in mobile learning. A taxonomy of ethical issues based on dominant positions in meta-ethical moral theory is proposed. Using categories from the Mobile Technologies in Lifelong Learning (MOTILL) project, I show how this taxonomy can be applied in such a way as to facilitate understanding of ethical issues in mobile learning

Public Health and Epidemiology Informatics: Recent Research and Trends in the United States
Objectives
To survey advances in public health and epidemiology informatics over the past three years.
Methods
We conducted a review of English-language research works conducted in the domain of public health informatics (PHI), and published in MEDLINE between January 2012 and December 2014, where information and communication technology (ICT) was a primary subject, or a main component of the study methodology. Selected articles were synthesized using a thematic analysis using the Essential Services of Public Health as a typology.
Results
Based on themes that emerged, we organized the advances into a model where applications that support the Essential Services are, in turn, supported by a socio-technical infrastructure that relies on government policies and ethical principles. That infrastructure, in turn, depends upon education and training of the public health workforce, development that creates novel or adapts existing infrastructure, and research that evaluates the success of the infrastructure. Finally, the persistence and growth of infrastructure depends on financial sustainability.
Conclusions
Public health informatics is a field that is growing in breadth, depth, and complexity. Several Essential Services have benefited from informatics, notably, âMonitor Health,â âDiagnose & Investigate,â and âEvaluate.â Yet many Essential Services still have not yet benefited from advances such as maturing electronic health record systems, interoperability amongst health information systems, analytics for population health management, use of social media among consumers, and educational certification in clinical informatics. There is much work to be done to further advance the science of PHI as well as its impact on public health practice
Deep Learning for the Radiographic Detection of periodontal Bone Loss
We applied deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to detect periodontal bone loss (PBL) on panoramic dental radiographs. We synthesized a set of 2001 image segments from panoramic radiographs. Our reference test was the measured % of PBL. A deep feed-forward CNN was trained and validated via 10-times repeated group shuffling. Model architectures and hyperparameters were tuned using grid search. The final model was a seven-layer deep neural network, parameterized by a total number of 4,299,651 weights. For comparison, six dentists assessed the image segments for PBL. Averaged over 10 validation folds the mean (SD) classification accuracy of the CNN was 0.81 (0.02). Mean (SD) sensitivity and specificity were 0.81 (0.04), 0.81 (0.05), respectively. The mean (SD) accuracy of the dentists was 0.76 (0.06), but the CNN was not statistically significant superior compared to the examiners (pâ=â0.067/t-test). Mean sensitivity and specificity of the dentists was 0.92 (0.02) and 0.63 (0.14), respectively. A CNN trained on a limited amount of radiographic image segments showed at least similar discrimination ability as dentists for assessing PBL on panoramic radiographs. Dentistsâ diagnostic efforts when using radiographs may be reduced by applying machine-learning based technologies
Biologically Inspired Dynamic Textures for Probing Motion Perception
Perception is often described as a predictive process based on an optimal
inference with respect to a generative model. We study here the principled
construction of a generative model specifically crafted to probe motion
perception. In that context, we first provide an axiomatic, biologically-driven
derivation of the model. This model synthesizes random dynamic textures which
are defined by stationary Gaussian distributions obtained by the random
aggregation of warped patterns. Importantly, we show that this model can
equivalently be described as a stochastic partial differential equation. Using
this characterization of motion in images, it allows us to recast motion-energy
models into a principled Bayesian inference framework. Finally, we apply these
textures in order to psychophysically probe speed perception in humans. In this
framework, while the likelihood is derived from the generative model, the prior
is estimated from the observed results and accounts for the perceptual bias in

Over the last few years, the advent of innovative
or revolutionary integration technologies has
influenced pivotal decisions within top management
to strategically transform Local Government
Authorities (LGAs). These technologies may
represent a huge cost for adopting LGAs, but may
also offer the chance to achieve competitive
advantage through superior service delivery. With
the emergence of electronic Government (e-
Government), LGAs are turning to integration
technologies to fully automate and e-enable their
business processes and integrate their IT
infrastructures. While prior research on the adoption
of integration technologies in the private and public
domain has considered several determinants (e.g.
benefits, barriers, costs), little attention has been
given to investigate the attitudinal and behavioural
determinants influencing top managementâs decision
making process for the adoption of integration
technologies in LGAs. Notwithstanding, the
implications of this research have yet to be assessed,
leaving scope for timeliness and novel research.
Therefore, it is of high importance to investigate this
area within LGAs and contribute to the area of
strategic decision making by examining attitudinal
and behavioural determinants of top management in
relation to integration technologies adoption
