Realization of a ROIC for 72x4 PV-IR detectors
Silicon Readout Integrated Circuits (ROIC) for HgCdTe Focal Plane Arrays of 1x4 and 72x4 photovoltaic detectors are represented. The analog circuit blocks are completely identical for both, while the digital control circuit is modified to
take into account the larger array size. The manufacturing technology is 0.35Όm, double poly-Si, three-metal CMOS process. ROIC structure includes four elements TDI functioning with a super sampling rate of 3, bidirectional scanning, dead pixel de-selection, automatic gain adjustment in response to pixel deselection besides programmable four gain setting (up to 2.58pC storage), and programmable integration time. ROIC has four outputs with a dynamic range of 2.8V (from 1.2V to 4V) for an output load of 10pF capacitive in parallel with 1MΩ resistance, and operates at a clock frequency of 5 MHz. The input referred noise is less than 1037 ΌV with 460 fF integration capacitor, corresponding to 2978 electrons
Noise and thermal stability of vibrating micro-gyrometers preamplifiers
The preamplifier is a critical component of gyrometer's electronics. Indeed
the resolution of the sensor is limited by its signal to noise ratio, and the
gyrometer's thermal stability is limited by its gain drift. In this paper, five
different kinds of preamplifiers are presented and compared. Finally, the
design of an integrated preamplifier is shown in order to increase the gain
stability while reducing its noise and size.Comment: Submitted on behalf of EDA Publishing Association

Design of a ROIC for scanning type HgCdTe LWIR focal plane arrays
Design of a silicon readout integrated circuit (ROIC) for LWIR HgCdTe Focal Plane is presented. ROIC incorporates time delay integration (TDI) functionality over seven elements with a supersampling rate of three, increasing SNR and
the spatial resolution. Novelty of this topology is inside TDI stage; integration of charges in TDI stage implemented in current domain by using switched current structures that reduces required area for chip and improves linearity performance. ROIC, in terms of functionality, is capable of bidirectional scan, programmable integration time and 5 gain settings at the input. Programming can be done parallel or serially with digital interface. ROIC can handle up to 3.5V dynamic range with the input stage to be direct injection (DI) type. With the load being 10pF capacitive in parallel with 1MΩ resistance, output settling time is less than 250nsec enabling the clock frequency up to 4MHz. The manufacturing technology is 0.35Όm, double poly-Si, four-metal (3 metals and 1 top metal) 5V CMOS process
Capacitive Microaccelerometers And Fabrication Methods
Disclosed are moveable microstructures comprising in-plane capacitive microaccelerometers, with submicro-gravity resolution (17 pF/g). Themicrostructures are fabricated in thick(> 100 ”m) siliconon-insulator (SOI) substrates or silicon substrates using a two-mask fully-dry release process that provides large seismic mass (> 10 milli-g), reduced capacitive gaps, and reduced in-plane stiffness. Fabricated devices may be interfaced to a high resolution switched-capacitor CMOS IC that eliminates the need for area-consuming reference capacitors. The measured sensitivity is 83 mV/mg (17 pF/g) and the output noise floor is -91 dBm/Hz at 10 Hz (corresponding to an acceleration resolution of 170 ng/âHz). The IC consumes 6 mW power and measures 0.65 mm2 core area.Georgia Tech Research Corporatio
Integrated Circuitry to Detect Slippage Inspired by Human Skin and Artificial Retinas
This paper presents a bioinspired integrated tactile coprocessor that is able to generate a warning in the case of slippage via the data provided by a tactile sensor. Some implementations use different layers of piezoresistive and piezoelectric materials to build upon the raw sensor and obtain the static (pressure) as well as the dynamic (slippage) information. In this paper, a simple raw sensor is used, and a circuitry is implemented, which is able to extract the dynamic information from a single piezoresistive layer. The circuitry was inspired by structures found in human skin and retina, as they are biological systems made up of a dense network of receptors. It is largely based on an artificial retina , which is able to detect motion by using relatively simple spatial temporal dynamics. The circuitry was adapted to respond in the bandwidth of microvibrations produced by early slippage, resembling human skin. Experimental measurements from a chip implemented in a 0.35-mum four-metal two-poly standard CMOS process are presented to show both the performance of the building blocks included in each processing node and the operation of the whole system as a detector of early slippage.Ministerio de EconomĂa y Competitividad TEC2006-12376-C02-01Gobierno de España TEC2006- 1572
