Differential Evolution Approach to Detect Recent Admixture
The genetic structure of human populations is extraordinarily complex and of
fundamental importance to studies of anthropology, evolution, and medicine.
As increasingly many individuals are of mixed origin, there is an unmet need
for tools that can infer multiple origins. Misclassification of such
individuals can lead to incorrect and costly misinterpretations of genomic
data, primarily in disease studies and drug trials.
We present an advanced tool to infer ancestry that can identify the
biogeographic origins of highly mixed individuals.

QYMSYM: A GPU-Accelerated Hybrid Symplectic Integrator That Permits Close Encounters
We describe a parallel hybrid symplectic integrator for planetary system
integration that runs on a graphics processing unit (GPU). The integrator
identifies close approaches between particles and switches from symplectic to
Hermite algorithms for particles that require higher resolution integrations.
The integrator is approximately as accurate as other hybrid symplectic
integrators but is GPU accelerated.Comment: 17 pages, 2 figure
An Improved Differential Evolution Algorithm for Maritime Collision Avoidance Route Planning
High accuracy navigation and surveillance systems are pivotal to ensure efficient ship route planning and marine safety. Based on existing ship navigation and maritime collision prevention rules, an improved approach for collision avoidance route planning using a differential evolution algorithm was developed. Simulation results show that the algorithm is capable of significantly enhancing the optimized route over current methods. It has the potential to be used as a tool to generate optimal vessel routing in the presence of conflicts
