Data transmission through online is become mandatory in recent ages. No one can avoid data transmission over internet. But sensitivity of the data to be considered while transmits over internet. Internet is public medium where everyone has equal right to do their activities. Like in general public, internet also having malicious users and their main activity is deployment of attack. These attacks are of many types such as hacking, tampering and eavesdropping etc. Efficient data hiding techniques are required to with stand these attacks or to escape from these attacks. Visual Cryptography is one of such techniques to hide multimedia data in other multimedia data such as images, audio files or video files. In the proposed system secret image is partitioned or divided into shares based on the bits. These shares are then covered with given cover images then these covered shares are distributed to ‘n’ participants. To recover the secret all those participants are required. The proposed approach followed a novel method of bit slicing on gray scale images. So at the time of recover secret image cant’ be visible with same intensity or resolution as that of original image. For this purpose four secret keys are used. Simulation results shows that when compared to existing schemes , proposed approach can hide the image under cover images in efficient way as well as recovering of secret also lightweight and resilience to attacks

Protection of the sensitive data is an important issue because of the fast development of applications that need exchange of the secret information over the Internet. Secret sharing is an idea proposed by Shamir and Blakley separately with different implementations in 1979. Lin and Tsai proposed a method that uses Steganography to create meaningful shares by using Shamir's secret sharing scheme in 2004. In recent years, researchers work to remove some of the weaknesses of this method. However, all of these methods need cover images four times bigger than the secret image. This arises two problems: increased storage and bandwidth need for shares. We used cover images with the same size as the secret image by using both Blakley's secret sharing approach and Steganography. Therefore, we achieved reduced storage and transmission bandwidth for shares. Besides, the proposed method creates meaningful shares by using Steganography instead of noise-like shares, different from other studies that use Blakley's approach

Covert QR codes: How to hide in the crowd

This paper investigates a novel approach of distributing a hidden message via public channels. The proposed approach employs visual subterfuge to conceal secret information within a QR code. Using a QR code reader, any individual can decode the public information contained in the QR code. However, only authorized users who have the necessary credentials will be able to obtain the secret message, which is encoded in the form of a secret QR code. We call this a Covert QR (CQR) code scheme. To embed the secret information, this approach exploits the error correction mechanism inherent in the QR code structure. By using QR codes to conceal information, the proposed scheme has the advantage of reducing the likelihood of attracting the attention of potential adversaries. In addition, the information in QR codes can be scanned and decoded through the visual channel. As such, the secret information can be distributed on printed media and is not restricted to an electronic form

Cellular Automata Based Image Authentication Scheme Using Extended Visual Cryptography

Most of the Visual Cryptography based image authentication schemes hide the share and authentication data into cover images by using an additional data hiding process. This process increases the computational cost of the schemes. Pixel expansion, meaningless shares and use of codebook are other challenges in these schemes. To overcome these issues, an authentication scheme is proposed in which no embedding into the cover images is performed and meaningful authentication shares are created using the watermark and cover images. This makes the scheme completely imperceptible. The watermark can be retrieved just by superimposing these authentication shares, thus reducing the computational complexity at receiver's side. Cellular Automata is used to construct the master share that provides self-construction ability to the shares. The meaningful authentication shares help in enhancing the security of the scheme while size invariance saves transmission and storage cost. The scheme possesses the ability of tamper detection. Experimental results demonstrate the improved security and quality of the generated shares of the proposed scheme as compared to existing schemes

Security in the real world is an important issue to be taken care and to be encountered with various aspects and preventive measures. In the present era, whole major security concerns is the protection of this multimedia web is coming closer from text data to multimedia data, one of the data. Image, which covers the highest percentage of the multimedia data, its protection is very important. These might include Military Secrets, Commercial Secrets and Information of individuals. This can be achieved by visual Cryptography. It is one kind of image encryption. Incurrent technology, most of visual cryptography areembedded a secret using multiple shares. Visual is secret sharing technique used in visual cryptography which divides the secret image into multiple shares and by superimposing those shares the original secret image is going to be revealed, but it create a threat when an intruder get shares with which the image is going to be decrypted easily. However in these project work, an extremely useful bitwise operation is perform on every pixel with the help of key. The key is provided by new concept of sterilization algorithm. Initially Red, Green and Blue channels get separated from image and are going to be encrypted on multiple levels using multiple shares, convert an image into unreadable format and by combining all the shares in proper sequence the original secret image revealed

Security has gained a lot of importance as information technology is widely used. The main issue in visual cryptography is quality of reconstructed image. This problem is overcome by using “Secured Lossless share Watermarking ”. In this method the quality of reconstructed image is higher and the security of share is high compare with conventional visual cryptographic scheme. The secret image is converted into. Each share is embedded to different carrier images. Invisible watermarking method is used for embedding carrier image and shares. For security, the invisible watermarked shares are then encrypted, AES modified encryption method is used. The encrypted shares are send to other participants. At the receiver end receiving the shares and decrypt the shares, then combining these shares together reveal the secret. The quality of rejoined shares and original secret shares are almost same. Informations are being transferred through open channels and the security of those informations has been prime concerns. Apart from many conventional cryptographic schemes, visual cryptographic techniques have also been in use for data and information security. Visual cryptography is a secret sharing scheme as it breaks an original image into image shares such that, when the shares are stacked on one another, a hidden secret image is revealed. The Visual Cryptography Scheme is a secure method that encrypts a secret document or image by breaking it into image shares. A unique property of Visual Cryptography Scheme is that one can visually decode the secret image by superimposing shares without computation. Even to make the visual cryptography image shares more secure, public key encryption scheme is applied. Public key encryption technique makes image shares so secure that it becomes very hard for a third party to decode the secret image information without having required data that is a private key
