    We provide a survey of recent developments about capacities (or fuzzy measures) and ccoperative games in characteristic form, when they are defined on more general structures than the usual power set of the universal set, namely lattices.     Set functions appear as a useful tool in many areas of decision making and operations research, and several linear invertible transformations have been introduced for set functions, such as the Möbius transform and the interaction transform. The present paper establish similar transforms and their relationships for bi-set functions, i.e. functions of two disjoint subsets. A decision making process is outlined that is based on the performance of multi-modal features in a face recognition task involving a set of 3D face databases. In particular, the fuzzy interval valued MCDM technique called TOPSIS is applied for ranking and deciding on the best choice of multi-modal features at the decision stage. It provides a formal mechanism of benchmarking their performances against a set of criteria. The technique demonstrates its ability in scaling up the multi-modal features.Peer reviewedProo

    Fuzzy measures and integrals in MCDA

    This chapter aims at a unified presentation of various methods of MCDA based onfuzzy measures (capacity) and fuzzy integrals, essentially the Choquet andSugeno integral. A first section sets the position of the problem ofmulticriteria decision making, and describes the various possible scales ofmeasurement (difference, ratio, and ordinal). Then a whole section is devotedto each case in detail: after introducing necessary concepts, the methodologyis described, and the problem of the practical identification of fuzzy measuresis given. The important concept of interaction between criteria, central inthis chapter, is explained in details. It is shown how it leads to k-additivefuzzy measures. The case of bipolar scales leads to thegeneral model based on bi-capacities, encompassing usual models based oncapacities. A general definition of interaction for bipolar scales isintroduced. The case of ordinal scales leads to the use of Sugeno integral, andits symmetrized version when one considers symmetric ordinal scales. Apractical methodology for the identification of fuzzy measures in this contextis given.     Bicooperative games generalize classical cooperative games in the sense that a player is allowed to play in favor or against some aim, besides non participation. Bicapacities are monotonic bicooperative games, they are useful in decision making where underlying scales are of bipolar nature, i.e., they distinguish between good/satisfactory values and bad/unsatisfactory ones.     Games on lattices, multichoice games and the Shapley value: a new approach

    Multichoice games have been introduced by Hsiao and Raghavan as a generalization of classical cooperative games. An important notion in cooperative game theory is the core of the game, as it contains the rational imputations for players. We propose two definitions for the core of a multichoice game, the first one is called the precore and is a direct generalization of the classical definition. We show that the precore coincides with the definition proposed by Faigle, and that it contains unbounded imputations, which makes its application questionable. A second definition is proposed, imposing normalization at each level, causing the core to be a convex closed set. We study its properties, introducing balancedness and marginal worth vectors, and defining the Weber set and the pre-Weber set. We show that the classical properties of inclusion of the (pre)core into the (pre)-Weber set as well as their equality remain valid.     In this paper we prove that Neutrosophic Set (NS) is an extension of Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set (IFS) no matter if the sum of single-valued neutrosophic components is \u3c 1, or \u3e 1, or = 1. For the case when the sum of components is 1 (as in IFS), after applying the neutrosophic aggregation operators one gets a different result from that of applying the intuitionistic fuzzy operators, since the intuitionistic fuzzy operators ignore the indeterminacy, while the neutrosophic aggregation operators take into consideration the indeterminacy at the same level as truth-membership and falsehood-nonmembership are taken. NS is also more flexible and effective because it handles, besides independent components, also partially independent and partially dependent components, while IFS cannot deal with these. Since there are many types of indeterminacies in our world, we can construct different approaches to various neutrosophic concepts. Neutrosophic Set (NS) is also a generalization of Inconsistent Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set (IIFS) { which is equivalent to the Picture Fuzzy Set (PFS) and Ternary Fuzzy Set (TFS) }, Pythagorean Fuzzy Set (PyFS), Spherical Fuzzy Set (SFS), n-HyperSpherical Fuzzy Set (n-HSFS), and q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Set (q-ROFS). And all these sets are more general than Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set. We prove that Atanassov’s Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set of second type (IFS2), and Spherical Fuzzy Sets (SFS) do not have independent components. And we show that n-HyperSphericalFuzzy Set that we now introduce for the first time, Spherical Neutrosophic Set (SNS) and n-HyperSpherical Neutrosophic Set (n-HSNS) {the last one also introduced now for the first time} are generalizations of IFS2 and SFS. The main distinction between Neutrosophic Set (NS) and all previous set theories are: a) the independence of all three neutrosophic components {truth-membership (T), indeterminacy-membership (I), falsehood-nonmembership (F)} with respect to each other in NS – while in the previous set theories their components are dependent of each other; and b) the importance of indeterminacy in NS - while in previous set theories indeterminacy is completely or partially ignored. Also, Regret Theory, Grey System Theory, and Three-Ways Decision are particular cases of Neutrosophication and of Neutrosophic Probability. We have extended the Three-Ways Decision to n-Ways Decision
