    Control and Coordination of the robots has been widely researched area among the swarm robotics. Usually these swarms are involved in accomplishing tasks assigned to them either one after another or concurrently. Most of the times, the tasks assigned may not need the entire population of the swarm but a subset of them. In this project, emphasis has been given to determination of such subsets of robots termed as ”flock” whose size actually depends on the complexity of the task. Once the flock is determined from the swarm, leader and follower robots are determined which accomplish the task in a controlled and cooperative fashion. Although the entire control system,which is determined for collision free and coordinated environment, is stable, the results show that both wireless (bluetooth) and internet (UDP) communication system can introduce some lag which can lead robot trajectories to an unexpected set. The reason for this is each robot and a corresponding computer is considered as a complete robot and communication between the robot and the computer and between the computers was inevitable. These problems could easily be solved by integrating a computer on the robot or just add a wifi transmitter/receiver on the robot. On going down the lane, by introducing smarter robots with different kinds of sensors this project could be extended on a large scale for varied heterogenous and homogenous applications

    Integrated Reconfigurable Autonomous Architecture System

    Advances in state-of-the-art architectural robotics and artificially intelligent design algorithms have the potential not only to transform how we design and build architecture, but to fundamentally change our relationship to the built environment. This system is situated within a larger body of research related to embedding autonomous agency directly into the built environment through the linkage of AI, computation, and robotics. It challenges the traditional separation between digital design and physical construction through the development of an autonomous architecture with an adaptive lifecycle. Integrated Reconfigurable Autonomous Architecture System (IRAAS) is composed of three components: 1) an interactive platform for user and environmental data input, 2) an agent-based generative space planning algorithm with deep reinforcement learning for continuous spatial adaptation, 3) a distributed robotic material system with bi-directional cyber-physical control protocols for simultaneous state alignment. The generative algorithm is a multi-agent system trained using deep reinforcement learning to learn adaptive policies for adjusting the scales, shapes, and relational organization of spatial volumes by processing changes in the environment and user requirements. The robotic material system was designed with a symbiotic relationship between active and passive modular components. Distributed robots slide their bodies on tracks built into passive blocks that enable their locomotion while utilizing a locking and unlocking system to reconfigure the assemblages they move across. The three subsystems have been developed in relation to each other to consider both the constraints of the AI-driven design algorithm and the robotic material system, enabling intelligent spatial adaptation with a continuous feedback chain

    Quickest Paths in Simulations of Pedestrians

    This contribution proposes a method to make agents in a microscopic simulation of pedestrian traffic walk approximately along a path of estimated minimal remaining travel time to their destination. Usually models of pedestrian dynamics are (implicitly) built on the assumption that pedestrians walk along the shortest path. Model elements formulated to make pedestrians locally avoid collisions and intrusion into personal space do not produce motion on quickest paths. Therefore a special model element is needed, if one wants to model and simulate pedestrians for whom travel time matters most (e.g. travelers in a station hall who are late for a train).     Cellular Automaton Belousov-Zhabotinsky Model for Binary Full Adder

    © 2017 World Scientific Publishing Company. The continuous increment in the performance of classical computers has been driven to its limit. New ways are studied to avoid this oncoming bottleneck and many answers can be found. An example is the Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction which includes some fundamental and essential characteristics that attract chemists, biologists, and computer scientists. Interaction of excitation wave-fronts in BZ system, can be interpreted in terms of logical gates and applied in the design of unconventional hardware components. Logic gates and other more complicated components have been already proposed using different topologies and particular characteristics. In this study, the inherent parallelism and simplicity of Cellular Automata (CAs) modeling is combined with an Oregonator model of light-sensitive version of BZ reaction. The resulting parallel and computationally-inexpensive model has the ability to simulate a topology that can be considered as a one-bit full adder digital component towards the design of an Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU)
