    Abstract: The quality-based approach SQFE (Suivi Qualite Par le Fournisseur Exterieur) has been introduced by three automotivecorporationstomeasure the quality of supplier products. This approach proposesa general criterionby which inspection samples are classified to different demerit categories with different weights, to compute mean unit demerit ( for each measurable quality characteristic. However, the assignment of an actual and crisp demerit weight to each sampleis unrealistic, in the face of the unavoidable measurement errors as well as the inevitable uncertainty involved in human judgment. In this paper an improved estimation procedure which is based on fuzzy logic instead of bivalent logic,is presented to calculate s. The fuzzy set theory is used to add more accuracy and flexibility to the analysis. For this aim, "likelihood view" has been adapted to generate fuzzy membership function, in order to assign the appropriate demerit weight to each sample. In addition, a numerical example that evaluates productsbased on the proposed methodand compares it with the current standard procedureis presented

Seiring perkembangannya, PT. IKSG selalu berupaya meningkatkan mutu layanan dan kualitas produknya. Dalam menentukan kualitas produk, perusahaan melakukan pengendalian berupa menghitung proporsi cacat setiap line yang dibandingkan dengan batas toleransi kebijakan perusahaan. Pengendalian kualitas yang telah dilakukan tersebut memiliki kesamaran dalam memutuskan apakah proses pembuatan kantong semen telah terkendali sehingga perlu dilakukan pengendalian kualitas secara statistika. Pengendalian kualitas yang dilakukan menggunakan peta kendali demerit dan fuzzy demerit. Hasil peta kendali demerit dan fuzzy demerit menunjukkan proses produksi kantong semen jenis pasted di semua line selama periode Januari – Desember 2017 belum terkendali secara statistik. Peta kendali fuzzy demerit lebih sensitif dibandingkan dengan peta kendali demerit, dimana hal ini ditunjukkan oleh lebih banyaknya titik pengamatan out of control yang dapat ditangkap oleh peta kendali fuzzy demerit daripada peta kendali demerit. Adanya pengamatan out of control dominan disebabkan oleh faktor manusia dalam proses pembuatan adonan lem, penyetelan mesin dan bahan baku di awal produksi, kebersihan mesin, dan pemakaian mesin saat dilakukan perbaikan

Industri Kemasan Semen Gresik (PT IKSG) is one of the subsidiaries of PT. Semen Gresik Tbk. (Persero) engaged in the manufacture of cement bags. Along its development, PT. IKSG always strives to improve the quality of its services and product quality. In determining the quality of the product, the company calculated the proportion of defects in each line then compared it to the company's policy tolerance limits. Quality control that has been done by the company has a vagueness in deciding whether the process of making the cement bags has been controlled or not, so it is necessary to do statistical quality control. The quality control is performed by using demerit and fuzzy demerit control charts. The results of demerit and fuzzy demerit control charts show that the production process of pasted cement bags in all lines during the period January - December 2017 has not been statistically controlled. The demerit fuzzy control chart is more sensitive than the demerit control chart, which is indicated by more out of control observation points that can be captured by fuzzy demerit control charts rather than classical demerit control charts. The presence of out of control observations is caused by human factors in the process of making glue dough, setting the machine and materials at the beginning of production, cleanliness of the engine, and using the machine when it is being repaired

    The photovoltaic system is one of the renewable energy device, which directly converts solar radiation into electricity. The I-V characteristics of PV system are nonlinear in nature and under variable Irradiance and temperature, PV system has a single operating point where the power output is maximum, known as Maximum Power Point (MPP) and the point varies on changes in atmospheric conditions and electrical load. Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) is used to track MPP of solar PV system for maximum efficiency operation. The various MPPT techniques together with implementation are reported in literature. In order to choose the best technique based upon the requirements, comprehensive and comparative study should be available. The aim of this paper is to present a comprehensive review of various MPPT techniques for uniform insolation and partial shading conditions. Furthermore, the comparison of practically accepted and widely used techniques has been made based on features, such as control strategy, type of circuitry, number of control variables and cost. Belirsizlik içeren dilsel veriler, bulanık sayılarla ifade edilmiştir. Dilsel veriler için bulanık kontrol diyagramları α-kesim yaklaşımı kullanılarak geliştirilmiş ve bu suretle muayene sıklığı tanımlanmıştır. Bulanık kontrol diyagramlarının oluşturulmasında, bulanık verilerin taşıdığı bilgilerin kaybolmasını önlemek amacıyla “Direkt Bulanık Yaklaşım” geliştirilmiştir. Bulanık verilerin kontrol diyagramındaki normal olmayan davranış testleri için bulanık bir yaklaşım geliştirilmiştir. Önerilen yaklaşımların pratik kullanımlarının yansıtılması açısından gerçek verilere dayalı nümerik örnekler sunulmuştur.In this study, process control charts under linguistic, vague, and uncertain data are developed in the light of the Fuzzy Set Theory. Linguistic or uncertain data are represented by the use of fuzzy numbers. Fuzzy control charts for the linguistic data are proposed and integrated with the α-cut approach of fuzzy sets in order to set the degree of tightness of the inspection. A new approach called direct fuzzy approach to fuzzy control charts is modeled in order to prevent the loss of information of the fuzzy data during the construction of control charts. Finally, fuzzy unnatural pattern analyses are developed to monitor the abnormal patterns of the fuzzy data on the control charts.     With the increasing population of aging and disabled individuals, the need for a more effective and efficient solutions is at peak, Powered Exoskeletons are wearable robots that can be attached to the disabled limb with the goal of adding power to, or rectifying the limb functionality , one of its application is rehabilitation. This study review relevant research, technologies and products, while critically analyzing them and addressing some of the current problem faced by the researchers in this field, such as the use EMG signal as a primary input to the controller. This research propose an adaptive EMG-based upper limb exoskeleton that is built on a fuzzy controller. The paper strives to propose a wearable general-user Exoskeleton, Built around an interactive gaming interface to engage the patients in the rehabilitation process. The games and exoskeleton assistance degree can be preset – on medical supervision – to different training patterns. Ultimately, the project strives to afford normal daily life for those who needs it

    The Phra Malai legend in Thai Buddhist literature: A study of three texts.

    The story of the arhat Phra Malai and his visits to heaven and hell is often described as one of the most pervasive and influential themes in Thai Buddhism. The story exists in numerous and varied poetic and prose forms and is also depicted in painting and sculpture. However, the story has never been studied comprehensively in terms of the various contexts within which the different versions are recited. In this dissertation I have traced the background and development of the earliest known Thai version of this story from its Sri Lankan roots to its florescence in the northern Thai kingdom of Lan Na. I have suggested that the Lan Na version of Phra Malai, which is recited annually as a preface to the Vessantara Jataka, was introduced as a promotional text to encourage participation in the Vessantara Jataka festival. The recitation of this Jataka, I propose, was promoted as a means of preserving the Buddhist teachings, which according to an earlier prediction, would disappear in the 2000th year of Buddhism. I have also compared this early version of the story with two later versions from central Thailand. One of these is the highly literary Kham Luang, or royal version, which appears to have been written as a work of merit-making. The other is the popular colloquial Klon Suat or chanted version, which has provided edification, entertainment, and personal merit-making opportunities in for sermons, weddings, and funerals. Finally, I have translated and annotated the Kham Luang, which has not yet appeared in translation in a Western language. My study has demonstrated that the Phra Malai theme has been used in quite different contexts for different purposes.     Some Studies on Breakdown of Solid Insulations and it’s Modeling using Soft Computing Techniques

The generating capacities of power plants and application of high voltage has intensively increased due to their inherent advantages, such as, greater efficiency and cost effectiveness. It is, thus essential to know the property of the insulating materials for optimum solution in terms of cost and insulating capability. Out of so many properties of insulation materials, determination of the breakdown voltage continues to evoke a lot of interest to the Electrical Engineers in general and High Voltage Engineers in particular. Hence, it is possible to develop solid insulating materials with excellent breakdown strength and any attempt at modeling the phenomenon with the presence of void would go a long way in assessing the insulation quality. Some of the few important topics reviewed at the beginning of the thesis are the factors affecting the breakdown voltage in general, breakdown voltage study of different composite insulating materials and the factors affecting the breakdown voltage due to Partial Discharges (PD) in voids

    Decision support systems (DSS) have evolved over the past four decades from theoretical concepts into real world computerized applications. DSS architecture contains three key components: knowledge base, computerized model, and user interface. DSS simulate cognitive decision-making functions of humans based on artificial intelligence methodologies (including expert systems, data mining, machine learning, connectionism, logistical reasoning, etc.) in order to perform decision support functions. The applications of DSS cover many domains, ranging from aviation monitoring, transportation safety, clinical diagnosis, weather forecast, business management to internet search strategy. By combining knowledge bases with inference rules, DSS are able to provide suggestions to end users to improve decisions and outcomes. This book is written as a textbook so that it can be used in formal courses examining decision support systems. It may be used by both undergraduate and graduate students from diverse computer-related fields. It will also be of value to established professionals as a text for self-study or for reference
