CJK- Improved LO Parton Distributions in the Real Photon and Their Experimental Uncertainties

A new analysis of the radiatively generated, LO quark (u,d,s,c,b) and gluon densities in the real, unpolarized photon, improved in respect to our paper [1], is presented. We perform four new global fits to the experimental data for F2^gamma, two using a standard FFNS approach and two based on ACOT(chi) scheme [2], leading to the FFNS(CJK) and CJK models. We also present the analysis of the uncertainties of the new CJK 2 parton distributions due to the experimental errors, the very first such analysis performed for the photon. This analysis is based on the Hessian method, for a comparison for chosen cross-sections we use also the Lagrange method.Comment: Prepared for Photon 2003: International Conference on the Structure and Interactions of the Photon (Including the 15th International Workshop on Photon-Photon Collisions), Frascati (Italy), 7-11 April 2003; 10 pages, Latex using espcrc2 style, 1 tex and 5 postscript figures; FORTRAN programs available at http://www.fuw.edu.pl/~pjank/param.htm

This research investigates and analyzes the influence of variables of Motivation, communication, leadership style on employee performance on employee performance variables at the Office of Supervision and Customs & Excise Service Type C Bontang Customs. These variables in this study are referred to simultaneously, for example, endogenous variables: Motivation (X1), Communication (X2), Leadership Style (X3), (While endogenous or dependent variables (dependend variables) are Performance (Y). using primary data, namely data obtained from respondents directly from interview results or the results of filling out questionnaires collected through field surveys. And secondary data is data that is taken indirectly, namely data that has been processed by agencies, in the form of reference books, reports. The data analysis used in this study is qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The population used is employees at the Bontang Customs Supervision and Service Office type C Customs Which amounts to 113 people. By using the jebuh sample method, that is, all populations become samples. using spss for Windows programs ver 22.0 and AMOS ver 22.0. Motivation has a significant effect on employee performance, this shows that the higher the motivation, the more it will improve employee performance. Communication has a significant effect on performance, this shows that the better the communication will make the higher the employee's performance. Leadership Style does not have a significant effect on employee performance, this shows that leadership style does not have a direct effect on employee performance

This study was designed to assess and identify factors that make a vocational program successful. Using qualitative methods for collection and analysis of data, vocational instructors and students in programs identified to be successful were interviewed to better depict the classroom setting, teachers, methods, etc. of these successful programs. Participants included instructors of and students enrolled in secondary vocational programs in the state of Mississippi identified to be most successful according to C-PAS test scores in each of the following training areas: Building Trades (carpentry), Business and Computer Technology, Marketing Management Technology, and Allied Health. MS-CPAS test scores were analyzed to identify the highest performing schools in four vocational disciplines. Several methods were used to gather information for an analysis to determine what factors are significant in making these programs successful. These methods included interviews, focus groups, and classroom observations. Focus groups were formed from students enrolled in said programs to gain information on student perception of the program. Guided interviews of the instructors of each program were conducted in order to identify teaching method, style, classroom and school environment, etc. Classroom observations were made to gain a third-party independent perspective of the programs. Using triangulation, the results generated from one method confirmed those of another. The researcher compared results from the observations, focus groups, and structured interviews. These methods identified factors that could be tested in order to replicate success in other vocational programs. These findings include, but are not limited to, the following: teacher quality, use of guided/leading questions, differentiated instruction, teacher enthusiasm, caring quality of the teacher, teacher\u27s involvement with students, celebration of achievement, fun and interactive classroom setting, classroom management, student recruitment, C-PAS preparation, classroom interaction between students and with the teacher, and the classroom layout. The findings from this study give school districts a framework by which to build their vocational programs. This study creates a foundation for further vocational research on the secondary level and provides support for researchers interested in showing the benefits of vocational education. .Recommendations for further study are indicated

Indicator Candidate Traits for Autonomous Fruit Set Ability Under High Temperatures in Capsicum

“Autonomous fruit set” refers to self-pollination and fruit set without pollen vectors such as vibration or insects. Autonomous fruit set under high-temperature stress is an important breeding goal as climate change can reduce fruit yields in Capsicum. We screened Capsicum cultivars for autonomous fruit set ability in a greenhouse environment and investigated pollen germination, viability, pollen grains number, chlorophyll fluorescence (Fv/Fm), style length, anther cone length, and anthesis stage under high temperatures in order to identify indicator traits for screening more genotypes with autonomous fruit set ability. The fruit set of the ‘Takanotsume’ (57.7 ± 20.6%) and ‘Goshiki Kyokko’ (52.2 ± 14.2%) cultivars (both C. annuum) were higher than those of other cultivars. Correlation analysis showed that pollen germination had the highest correlation with fruit set in C. annuum cultivars (r = 0.63). These results indicate that ‘Takanotsume’ and ‘Goshiki Kyokko’ are useful cultivars for novel breeding programs focusing on autonomous fruit sets under high temperatures, and pollen germination in C. annuum was a convincing candidate for an indicator trait of autonomous fruit set ability under high temperatures

Declassification: transforming java programs to remove intermediate classes

    Get PDF
Computer applications are increasingly being written in object-oriented languages like Java and C++ Object-onented programming encourages the use of small methods and classes. However, this style of programming introduces much overhead as each method call results in a dynamic dispatch and each field access becomes a pointer dereference to the heap allocated object. Many of the classes in these programs are included to provide structure rather than to act as reusable code, and can therefore be regarded as intermediate. We have therefore developed an optimisation technique, called declassification, which will transform Java programs into equivalent programs from which these intermediate classes have been removed. The optimisation technique developed involves two phases, analysis and transformation. The analysis involves the identification of intermediate classes for removal. A suitable class is defined to be a class which is used exactly once within a program. Such classes are identified by this analysis The subsequent transformation involves eliminating these intermediate classes from the program. This involves inlinmg the fields and methods of each intermediate class within the enclosing class which uses it. In theory, declassification reduces the number of classes which are instantiated and used in a program during its execution. This should reduce the overhead of object creation and maintenance as child objects are no longer created, and it should also reduce the number of field accesses and dynamic dispatches required by a program to execute. An important feature of the declassification technique, as opposed to other similar techniques, is that it guarantees there will be no increase in code size. An empirical study was conducted on a number of reasonable-sized Java programs and it was found that very few suitable classes were identified for miming. The results showed that the declassification technique had a small influence on the memory consumption and a negligible influence on the run-time performance of these programs. It is therefore concluded that the declassification technique was not successful in optimizing the test programs but further extensions to this technique combined with an intrinsically object-onented set of test programs could greatly improve its success

The purpose of this study is to find out the factor of training and development that gives impact on organizational performance in Majlis Daerah Jerantut. There are two objective for this research first is to investigate the relationship between training and development and organizational performances. Second objective is measure the level of Training and Development, a) training design, b) on the job training, and c) delivery style and Organizational Performances. The hypothesis are developed from this research first, there is a relationship between training design and organizational performances. Second there is a relationship between on the job training and organizational performances, next here is a relationship between delivery style and organizational performances. Lastly, there is a relationship between training and development and organizational performances. The target of population was the employees of Majlis Daerah Jerantut. The respondent taking was only 50 workers of Majlis Daerah Jerantut which is only the upper management or inside worker. Therefore, the sample for our study is only 48 workers of Majlis Daerah Jerantut. Reliability analysis was used to measure the consistency of variable. Correlation analysis is used to identify the relationship between the variables and descriptive analysis is used to measure the level of independent variable and dependent variable. The finding show that, there are moderate and strong relationship between training and development (training design, on the job training, delivery style). The others finding show that, the level of training and development (training design, on the job training, delivery style) and organizational performance was high. This clearly indicated that Majlis Daerah Jerantut have high level of training and development and organizational performance. From the research that has been done, there are several recommendations for the Managers and Organization first, biasness should be minimized while selecting the candidates for training. Second, employees should be clearly communicated about the potential benefits of training programs and lastly, Choose the right trainer
