CREOLE: a Universal Language for Creating, Requesting, Updating and Deleting Resources

    Get PDF
In the context of Service-Oriented Computing, applications can be developed following the REST (Representation State Transfer) architectural style. This style corresponds to a resource-oriented model, where resources are manipulated via CRUD (Create, Request, Update, Delete) interfaces. The diversity of CRUD languages due to the absence of a standard leads to composition problems related to adaptation, integration and coordination of services. To overcome these problems, we propose a pivot architecture built around a universal language to manipulate resources, called CREOLE, a CRUD Language for Resource Edition. In this architecture, scripts written in existing CRUD languages, like SQL, are compiled into Creole and then executed over different CRUD interfaces. After stating the requirements for a universal language for manipulating resources, we formally describe the language and informally motivate its definition with respect to the requirements. We then concretely show how the architecture solves adaptation, integration and coordination problems in the case of photo management in Flickr and Picasa, two well-known service-oriented applications. Finally, we propose a roadmap for future work.Comment: In Proceedings FOCLASA 2010, arXiv:1007.499

Inventory management manually inhibit the performance of institutions. This research was aimed at developing a multimedia-based inventory information system program that can meet users\u27 specific needs. The information system program was developed on multimedia basis to produce output of inventory data in the form of 3D texts and visuals that are accessible online to multi users. The development research adopted the SLDC method. Initially, the program was developed using XAMPP as the local web server that includes Apache Web Server, PHP Script Language, MySQL Database, and phpMyAdmin Database Manager.Data were collected through observation, interviews and document study of educational institutions and public institutions. The program\u27s feasibility was tested by Stub Testing, Unit Testing, Black Box Testing, and White Box Testing, as well as Integration Testing. Its execution includes access modules with system login as the main access gate. The program database scheme includes (1) System Login, (2) Menu Manager,(3) Data Entry, (4) Circulation or Transaction, (5) Maintenance, and (6) Report. The information system model is capable of presenting information in the form of texts or images, and the data input uses the barcode system. The system provides access to a menu of top-down and bottom-up to facilitate the use and meet the specific needs and complete. The system was designed as an open source program, so it is open to development for studio or workshopand library information system

Integrating R and Hadoop for Big Data Analysis

Analyzing and working with big data could be very diffi cult using classical means like relational database management systems or desktop software packages for statistics and visualization. Instead, big data requires large clusters with hundreds or even thousands of computing nodes. Offi cial statistics is increasingly considering big data for deriving new statistics because big data sources could produce more relevant and timely statistics than traditional sources. One of the software tools successfully and wide spread used for storage and processing of big data sets on clusters of commodity hardware is Hadoop. Hadoop framework contains libraries, a distributed fi le-system (HDFS), a resource-management platform and implements a version of the MapReduce programming model for large scale data processing. In this paper we investigate the possibilities of integrating Hadoop with R which is a popular software used for statistical computing and data visualization. We present three ways of integrating them: R with Streaming, Rhipe and RHadoop and we emphasize the advantages and disadvantages of each solution.Comment: Romanian Statistical Review no. 2 / 201

Implementation and Deployment of a Library of the High-level Application Programming Interfaces (SemSorGrid4Env)

    No full text
The high-level API service is designed to support rapid development of thin web applications and mashups beyond the state of the art in GIS, while maintaining compatibility with existing tools and expectations. It provides a fully configurable API, while maintaining a separation of concerns between domain experts, service administrators and mashup developers. It adheres to REST and Linked Data principles, and provides a novel bridge between standards-based (OGC O&M) and Semantic Web approaches. This document discusses the background motivations for the HLAPI (including experiences gained from any previously implemented versions), before moving onto specific details of the final implementation, including configuration and deployment instructions, as well as a full tutorial to assist mashup developers with using the exposed observation data

Study of systems to manage the performance and quality of service of wireless data networks. Work with optimization techniques and project management to solve complex networks issues. The scope of this thesis is the SIT (System Integration Testing) process which is the testing procedure executed in customer test environment before the software goes on production environment. The main objective for this thesis is no other than improving the current process step by step taking into account the automation, efficiency, missing checks and much more. This project is a kind of Industrial process to create a powerful testing tool which can allow the company to deliver quality adaptor products efficiently, do better in less time helping to reduce costs, as Adaptors are the most demanded product of MYCOM OSI portfolio. Take into account that business is not only generated when an Adaptor is delivered for first time but also when Vendors provide with new releases and new functionalities and operators needs to order an upgrade of the Adaptor to be able to monitor the new functionalities deployed on their network.
