    Using GSS For Decision Reconstruction: A Preliminary Study

    The importance of understanding the reasons of past decisions is not a new subject. However, there seems to be a gap regarding the verification of the efficiency of tools for understanding past decisions. In this paper we posit that the ability to perform decision reconstruction, using a GSS solution, can provide a flexible solution to the problem, but only if the information model underneath it is able to support/structure both ways the phases of a decision-making process. Based on earlier work, we present a first proposal for a general information model to support the decision-making process, as well as the decision reconstruction process. We tested these ideas by setting a case study where we used a prototype, based on a proposed model, to analyze a simulated public contracting process and present a discussion based on the obtained results

    An approach to control collaborative processes in PLM systems

    Companies that collaborate within the product development processes need to implement an effective management of their collaborative activities. Despite the implementation of a PLM system, the collaborative activities are not efficient as it might be expected. This paper presents an analysis of the problems related to the collaborative work using a PLM system. From this analysis, we propose an approach for improving collaborative processes within a PLM system, based on monitoring indicators. This approach leads to identify and therefore to mitigate the brakes of the collaborative work

    Contract-based Data-Driven Decision Making in Federated Data Ecosystems

    Data-driven economies on the World Wide Web are based on coordination mechanisms for exhange and AI-based processing data assets provided by independent actors. Architectures for data-driven economies currently focus on the exchange of data assets and leave processing of data assets to background mechanisms. Without binding obligations, data sharing situations favor "no data sharing" as dominant strategy between agents. We present a broker framework that supports contract-based sharing, trading and processing of data assets between actors under 'lack-of-trust' conditions. Electronic contracts guarantee ownership and control of data assets, execution of defined data analytical tasks based on AI models and sharing of results according to contractual promises. A technical architecture (TUCANA) is presented that realizes a federated data economic ecosystem including the broker framework. We present an application based on an implementation of TUCANA

    Integration of ontologies with decentralized autonomous organizations development: A systematic literature review

    This paper presents a systematic literature review of the integration of ontologies into the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) development process. The review extracted data from 34 primary studies dealing with ontologies in the blockchain domain. DAO has become a key concept for the development of blockchain-based decentralized software systems. DAOs are seen as a positive alternative for organizations interested in the adoption of decentralized, reliable and transparent governance, as well as attracting the interest of academic research. However, there is no common understanding or generally accepted formal definition of a DAO, and the guidelines that provide support for the adoption and development of DAOs are limited to a few key references that lack the computational semantics needed to enable their automated validation, simulation or execution. Thus, the objective of this paper is to provide an unbiased and up-to-date review related to the integration of ontologies within DAOs which helps to identify new research opportunities and take advantage of this integration from a blockchain-based decentralized perspective
