Implementation of a Modula 2 subset compiler supporting a \u27C\u27 language interface using commonly available UNIX tools

    Get PDF
Modula 2 has been proposed as an appropriate language for systems programming. Smaller than PASCAL but more structured than \u27C\ Modula 2 is intended to be relatively easy to implement. A realization of a subset of Modula 2 for the MC68010 microprocessor is presented. Widely available UNIX tools and the \u27C language are used for the implementation. A mechanism for calling \u27C language functions from Modula 2 (and vice versa) is suggested. Critical source code, grammar, and an extensive bibliography pertinent to the implementation are included as appendices

Case Relations of the Two Part Verb in English

This paper attempts to explore one relatively small phenomenon of language. Linguistics is what might be thought of as a discipline in its infancy. Men have studied language for thousands of years: Dionysius Thrax of Alexandria codified the grammar of Greek in the second century B.C. But it has been only in the last thirty to forty years that scholars have studied language as it is spoken, as the living tool for symbolization that more than anything else distinguishes man from the lower animals. Linguists try to describe and to explain language, not to prescribe how it should be used. That has been the approach in this paper. What it might contribute to our knowledge of language is certainly limited--by the limited knowledge and experience of the writer if nothing else

Includes indexBibliography: page [123]-126This study will deal specifically with seven of Calderon's plays: two autos, Los encantos de la Culpa and El gran teatro del mundo; the "metaphysical" play La vida es sueno; the historico-religious play El principe constante; the peasant honor drama El alcalde de Zalamea; the drama of intrigue La dama duende; the honor drama El medico de su honra; and the opera comique, Eco y Narciso. These are some of Calderon's very best works, and each typifies one of the major groupings into which all of his plays can be placed.Autos Sacramentales -- La vida es sueno -- El principe constante -- La dama duende -- El medico de su honra -- El alcalde de Zalamea -- Eco y Narciso -- Language -- CriticsDigitized at the University of Missouri--Columbia MU Libraries Digitization Lab in 2012.
