A Color Image Watermarking Scheme Based On QR Factorization, Logistic and Lorentz Chaotic Maps

Most of the existing color image watermarking schemes use grayscale or binary image as watermark because color image watermark has more data than grayscale or binary watermark. Therefore, it is a challenging issue to design a color image-watermarking scheme. This paper proposes a novel color image watermarking scheme to embed color image watermark into color host image. In watermarking schemes, first divide the host and watermark image into non-overlapping blocks, apply the Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT) on each blocks of both watermark, and host image. After that QR Factorization, apply on the each blocks of watermark. In this paper, Logistic and Lorentz chaotic maps are usedfor estimating the embedding strength and location. The experimental results reveal that this watermarking scheme is robust against different image processing attacks viz. cropping, contrast adjustment and coloring

Robust digital watermarking techniques for multimedia protection

The growing problem of the unauthorized reproduction of digital multimedia data such as movies, television broadcasts, and similar digital products has triggered worldwide efforts to identify and protect multimedia contents. Digital watermarking technology provides law enforcement officials with a forensic tool for tracing and catching pirates. Watermarking refers to the process of adding a structure called a watermark to an original data object, which includes digital images, video, audio, maps, text messages, and 3D graphics. Such a watermark can be used for several purposes including copyright protection, fingerprinting, copy protection, broadcast monitoring, data authentication, indexing, and medical safety. The proposed thesis addresses the problem of multimedia protection and consists of three parts. In the first part, we propose new image watermarking algorithms that are robust against a wide range of intentional and geometric attacks, flexible in data embedding, and computationally fast. The core idea behind our proposed watermarking schemes is to use transforms that have different properties which can effectively match various aspects of the signal's frequencies. We embed the watermark many times in all the frequencies to provide better robustness against attacks and increase the difficulty of destroying the watermark. The second part of the thesis is devoted to a joint exploitation of the geometry and topology of 3D objects and its subsequent application to 3D watermarking. The key idea consists of capturing the geometric structure of a 3D mesh in the spectral domain by computing the eigen-decomposition of the mesh Laplacian matrix. We also use the fact that the global shape features of a 3D model may be reconstructed using small low-frequency spectral coefficients. The eigen-analysis of the mesh Laplacian matrix is, however, prohibitively expensive. To lift this limitation, we first partition the 3D mesh into smaller 3D sub-meshes, and then we repeat the watermark embedding process as much as possible in the spectral coefficients of the compressed 3D sub-meshes. The visual error of the watermarked 3D model is evaluated by computing a nonlinear visual error metric between the original 3D model and the watermarked model obtained by our proposed algorithm. The third part of the thesis is devoted to video watermarking. We propose robust, hybrid scene-based MPEG video watermarking techniques based on a high-order tensor singular value decomposition of the video image sequences. The key idea behind our approaches is to use the scene change analysis to embed the watermark repeatedly in a fixed number of the intra-frames. These intra-frames are represented as 3D tensors with two dimensions in space and one dimension in time. We embed the watermark information in the singular values of these high-order tensors, which have good stability and represent the video properties. Illustration of numerical experiments with synthetic and real data are provided to demonstrate the potential and the much improved performance of the proposed algorithms in multimedia watermarking

This thesis objective is to provide a robust watermarking algorithm to protect digital images. The proposed algorithm is using wavelet-based watermarking in which we are investigating how embedding in high-frequency subbands and low-frequency subbands would affect the robustness of the watermark while facing typical signal processing attacks

This paper proposes an image forensic scheme with both robust and fragile watermarking techniques for business documents. Through a dual watermarking approach, the proposed scheme can achieve image forensics objectives of (a) identification of source; (b) authentication of documents; and (c) locating the tempered areas of documents due to attacks. An example is presented to prove the concepts of the proposed scheme. Keywords: Image Forensics, Fragile and Robust Watermarking, Business Document

Digital Video Watermarking Robust Against Camcorder Recording Based on DWT-SVD

In order to reduce the block effects in the dark regions and improve the flicker in the bright regions of the existing video watermark algorithms, we propose an improved video watermarking algorithm against camcorder recording based on DWT-SVD. In proposed algorithm, 3th level Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) is applied to Y luminance of every single frame, and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) is used on sub-band of DWT. Watermark sequence is embedded by fine-tuning the singular value of consecutive frames. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is robust against many different attacks such as geometric attack, signal processing and camcorder recording. Moreover, the proposed scheme can reduce the blocks effect and improve the flicker by embedding watermark into edge feature of video frame. Although, the method can provide high video quality than the existing schemes, however, it is not robust to strong compression such as MPEG

Audio Signal Processing Using Time-Frequency Approaches: Coding, Classification, Fingerprinting, and Watermarking

    Get PDF
Audio signals are information rich nonstationary signals that play an important role in our day-to-day communication, perception of environment, and entertainment. Due to its non-stationary nature, time- or frequency-only approaches are inadequate in analyzing these signals. A joint time-frequency (TF) approach would be a better choice to efficiently process these signals. In this digital era, compression, intelligent indexing for content-based retrieval, classification, and protection of digital audio content are few of the areas that encapsulate a majority of the audio signal processing applications. In this paper, we present a comprehensive array of TF methodologies that successfully address applications in all of the above mentioned areas. A TF-based audio coding scheme with novel psychoacoustics model, music classification, audio classification of environmental sounds, audio fingerprinting, and audio watermarking will be presented to demonstrate the advantages of using time-frequency approaches in analyzing and extracting information from audio signals.</p

Several high-ranking watermarking schemes using neural networks have been proposed in order to make the watermark stronger to resist attacks. The ability of Artificial Neural Network, ANN to learn, do mapping, classify, and adapt has increased the interest of researcher in application of different types ANN in watermarking. In this paper, ANN based approached have been categorized based on their application to different components of watermarking such as; capacity estimate, watermark embedding, recovery of watermark and error rate detection. We propose a new component of water marking, Secure Region, SR in which, ANN can be used to identify such region within the estimated capacity. Hence an attack-proof watermarking system can be achieved
