Medical data processing and analysis for remote health and activities monitoring

    Get PDF
Recent developments in sensor technology, wearable computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and wireless communication have given rise to research in ubiquitous healthcare and remote monitoring of human\u2019s health and activities. Health monitoring systems involve processing and analysis of data retrieved from smartphones, smart watches, smart bracelets, as well as various sensors and wearable devices. Such systems enable continuous monitoring of patients psychological and health conditions by sensing and transmitting measurements such as heart rate, electrocardiogram, body temperature, respiratory rate, chest sounds, or blood pressure. Pervasive healthcare, as a relevant application domain in this context, aims at revolutionizing the delivery of medical services through a medical assistive environment and facilitates the independent living of patients. In this chapter, we discuss (1) data collection, fusion, ownership and privacy issues; (2) models, technologies and solutions for medical data processing and analysis; (3) big medical data analytics for remote health monitoring; (4) research challenges and opportunities in medical data analytics; (5) examples of case studies and practical solutions

Research on agricultural supply chain finance supporting sustainable poverty reduction under the background of digital technology

    Get PDF
From the perspective of financial services, management services and coordination services, this paper analyzes the internal mechanism of agricultural supply chain finance (ASCF) to help sustainable poverty reduction (SPR). The internal and external driving forces of ASCF for SPR are also explored. Among them, the internal driving forces include industrial upgrading and financial transformation; External driving forces include technological change, policy guidance and market drive. Based on the background of digital technology, the green agricultural supply chain finance (GASCF) model has been innovatively proposed. We mainly analyze the core elements and platform structure of GASCF, and focus on the process design and key points of the three modules of the GASCF platform: risk control port, credit port and capital port. Finally, we analyze the practical difficulties of green agricultural supply chain finance in helping sustainable poverty reduction, such as the lack of comprehensive management ability of the organization, the insufficient application of digital technology, the imperfect institutional environment and the lack of compound talents. And we put forward accordingly a four in one path of GASCF helping SPR, which is Government standardizing and leading, assistance from financial institutions, driven by industry subjects and Co governance of Social Service

Developing rural e-commerce, constructing new beautiful socialist countryside is the Chinese farmer\u27s dream, and also is a beautiful Chinese Dream. Based on achieving the beautiful dream, this paper begins with an exploratory research on E-commerce Innovative Development in Rural china. This paper firstly reviews the development status of rural e-commerce at home and abroad, secondly originally designs a blueprint and gives the corresponding countermeasures for realizing the blueprint, Lastly makes feasible solutions to achieve key technical issues. Part of the research fruits has been applied to Conghua City in Guangdong and has achieved experimental success. In view of the development and construction of new rural countryside of e-commerce is a new thing, this thesis research is only for peer discussion

Compare and contrast of contemporary technical knowledge sharing technologies

    Get PDF
Knowledge sharing is not a new topic in knowledge management research field. Many methodologies have been proposed, which aims to exploit the embodied knowledge in practice and transform them to a normal form so that other staffs and organizations can utilize it. In this paper, we propose to compare and contrast the contemporary technical knowledge sharing technologies. We categorize the existing technologies into the implemented and the experimental, and analyze them from multiple perspectives. Conclusion and future work are made in the final section

An Intelligent Multi-Agent Recommender System for Human Capacity Building

This paper presents a Multi-Agent approach to the problem of recommending training courses to engineering professionals. The recommendation system is built as a proof of concept and limited to the electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines. Through user modelling and data collection from a survey, collaborative filtering recommendation is implemented using intelligent agents. The agents work together in recommending meaningful training courses and updating the course information. The system uses a users profile and keywords from courses to rank courses. A ranking accuracy for courses of 90% is achieved while flexibility is achieved using an agent that retrieves information autonomously using data mining techniques from websites. This manner of recommendation is scalable and adaptable. Further improvements can be made using clustering and recording user feedback.Comment: Proceedings of the 14th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference, 2008, pages 909 to 91

A Review of Platforms for the Development of Agent Systems

Agent-based computing is an active field of research with the goal of building autonomous software of hardware entities. This task is often facilitated by the use of dedicated, specialized frameworks. For almost thirty years, many such agent platforms have been developed. Meanwhile, some of them have been abandoned, others continue their development and new platforms are released. This paper presents a up-to-date review of the existing agent platforms and also a historical perspective of this domain. It aims to serve as a reference point for people interested in developing agent systems. This work details the main characteristics of the included agent platforms, together with links to specific projects where they have been used. It distinguishes between the active platforms and those no longer under development or with unclear status. It also classifies the agent platforms as general purpose ones, free or commercial, and specialized ones, which can be used for particular types of applications.Comment: 40 pages, 2 figures, 9 tables, 83 reference

An Intelligent Customization Framework for Tourist Trip Design Problems

    Get PDF
In the era of the experience economy, “customized tours” and “self-guided tours” have become mainstream. This paper proposes an end-to-end framework for solving the tourist trip design problems (TTDP) using deep reinforcement learning (DRL) and data analysis. The proposed approach considers heterogeneous tourist preferences, customized requirements, and stochastic traffic times in real applications. With various heuristics methods, our approach is scalable without retraining for every new problem instance, which can automatically adapt the solution when the problem constraint changes slightly. We aim to provide websites or users with software tools that make it easier to solve TTDP, promoting the development of smart tourism and customized tourism

Research on multi-agent systems is enlarging our future technical capabilities as humans and as an intelligent society. During recent years many effective applications have been implemented and are part of our daily life. These applications have agent-based models and methods as an important ingredient. Markets, finance world, robotics, medical technology, social negotiation, video games, big-data science, etc. are some of the branches where the knowledge gained through multi-agent simulations is necessary and where new software engineering tools are continuously created and tested in order to reach an effective technology transfer to impact our lives. This book brings together researchers working in several fields that cover the techniques, the challenges and the applications of multi-agent systems in a wide variety of aspects related to learning algorithms for different devices such as vehicles, robots and drones, computational optimization to reach a more efficient energy distribution in power grids and the use of social networks and decision strategies applied to the smart learning and education environments in emergent countries. We hope that this book can be useful and become a guide or reference to an audience interested in the developments and applications of multi-agent systems

Logic-based Technologies for Intelligent Systems: State of the Art and Perspectives

    Get PDF
Together with the disruptive development of modern sub-symbolic approaches to artificial intelligence (AI), symbolic approaches to classical AI are re-gaining momentum, as more and more researchers exploit their potential to make AI more comprehensible, explainable, and therefore trustworthy. Since logic-based approaches lay at the core of symbolic AI, summarizing their state of the art is of paramount importance now more than ever, in order to identify trends, benefits, key features, gaps, and limitations of the techniques proposed so far, as well as to identify promising research perspectives. Along this line, this paper provides an overview of logic-based approaches and technologies by sketching their evolution and pointing out their main application areas. Future perspectives for exploitation of logic-based technologies are discussed as well, in order to identify those research fields that deserve more attention, considering the areas that already exploit logic-based approaches as well as those that are more likely to adopt logic-based approaches in the future
