A review of intelligent road preview methods for energy management of hybrid vehicles
Due to the shortage of fuel resources and concerns of environmental pressure, vehicle electrification is a promising trend. Hybrid vehicles are suitable alternatives to traditional vehicles. Travelling information is essential for hybrid vehicles to design the optimal control strategy for fuel consumption minimization and emissions reduction. In general, there are two ways to provide the information for the energy management strategy (EMS) design. First is extracting terrain information by utilizing global positioning system (GPS) and intelligent transportation system (ITS). However, this method is difficult to be implemented currently due to the computational complexity of extracting information. This leads to the second method which is predicting future vehicle speed and torque demand in a certain time horizon based on
current and previous vehicle states. To support optimal EMS development, this paper presents a comprehensive review of prediction methods based on different levels of trip information for the EMS of hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)
Driving style recognition for intelligent vehicle control and advanced driver assistance: a survey
Driver driving style plays an important role in vehicle energy management as well as driving safety. Furthermore, it is key for advance driver assistance systems development, toward increasing levels of vehicle automation. This fact has motivated numerous research and development efforts on driving style identification and classification. This paper provides a survey on driving style characterization and recognition revising a variety of algorithms, with particular emphasis on machine learning approaches based on current and future trends. Applications of driving style recognition to intelligent vehicle controls are also briefly discussed, including experts' predictions of the future development
Time-Space Relationship Analysis Model on the Bus Driving Characteristics of Different Drivers Based on the Traffic Performance Index System
With the extensive application of the concept of green traffic, the relationship between the driving characteristics of different drivers and energy consumption and traffic performance conditions, etc. is gradually becoming a research hotspot. Based on bus status data recorded by travel data recorders with a vehicle-mounted satellite positioning function and in view of external bus behaviours and driver’s performance, a bus driving characteristic model of drivers is established. A time-space analysis model of the driving characteristics of different drivers based on traffic performance index is also established through fuzzy association rules and a type-2 fuzzy set prediction algorithm. Test results show that the prediction algorithm can accurately describe the time-space relationship between the traffic congestion index and bus driving characteristic model and achieve relatively high prediction accuracy. The problem of the lagging release of traffic performance index caused by massive calculation for floating vehicle data can be effectively solved through this algorithm, which can serve as an important reference for analyzing traffic performance conditions, as well as the energy conservation and emission reduction of buses
Implicit personalization in driving assistance: State-of-the-art and open issues
In recent decades, driving assistance systems have been evolving towards personalization for adapting to different drivers. With the consideration of driving preferences and driver characteristics, these systems become more acceptable and trustworthy. This article presents a survey on recent advances in implicit personalized driving assistance. We classify the collection of work into three main categories: 1) personalized Safe Driving Systems (SDS), 2) personalized Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS), and 3) personalized In-vehicle Information Systems (IVIS). For each category, we provide a comprehensive review of current applications and related techniques along with the discussion of industry status, benefits of personalization, application prospects, and future focal points. Both relevant driving datasets and open issues about personalized driving assistance are discussed to facilitate future research. By creating an organized categorization of the field, we hope that this survey could not only support future research and the development of new technologies for personalized driving assistance but also facilitate the application of these techniques within the driving automation community</h2
Methods for protein complex prediction and their contributions towards understanding the organization, function and dynamics of complexes
Complexes of physically interacting proteins constitute fundamental
functional units responsible for driving biological processes within cells. A
faithful reconstruction of the entire set of complexes is therefore essential
to understand the functional organization of cells. In this review, we discuss
the key contributions of computational methods developed till date
(approximately between 2003 and 2015) for identifying complexes from the
network of interacting proteins (PPI network). We evaluate in depth the
performance of these methods on PPI datasets from yeast, and highlight
challenges faced by these methods, in particular detection of sparse and small
or sub- complexes and discerning of overlapping complexes. We describe methods
for integrating diverse information including expression profiles and 3D
structures of proteins with PPI networks to understand the dynamics of complex
formation, for instance, of time-based assembly of complex subunits and
formation of fuzzy complexes from intrinsically disordered proteins. Finally,
we discuss methods for identifying dysfunctional complexes in human diseases,
an application that is proving invaluable to understand disease mechanisms and
to discover novel therapeutic targets. We hope this review aptly commemorates a
decade of research on computational prediction of complexes and constitutes a
