    An approach based on tunicate swarm algorithm to solve partitional clustering problem

    The tunicate swarm algorithm (TSA) is a newly proposed population-based swarm optimizer for solving global optimization problems. TSA uses best solution in the population in order improve the intensification and diversification of the tunicates. Thus, the possibility of finding a better position for search agents has increased. The aim of the clustering algorithms is to distributed the data instances into some groups according to similar and dissimilar features of instances. Therefore, with a proper clustering algorithm the dataset will be separated to some groups and it’s expected that the similarities of groups will be minimum. In this work, firstly, an approach based on TSA has proposed for solving partitional clustering problem. Then, the TSA is implemented on ten different clustering problems taken from UCI Machine Learning Repository, and the clustering performance of the TSA is compared with the performances of the three well known clustering algorithms such as fuzzy c-means, k-means and k-medoids. The experimental results and comparisons show that the TSA based approach is highly competitive and robust optimizer for solving the partitional clustering problems

    Nature-inspired optimization algorithms for text document clustering—a comprehensive analysis

Text clustering is one of the efficient unsupervised learning techniques used to partition a huge number of text documents into a subset of clusters. In which, each cluster contains similar documents and the clusters contain dissimilar text documents. Nature-inspired optimization algorithms have been successfully used to solve various optimization problems, including text document clustering problems. In this paper, a comprehensive review is presented to show the most related nature-inspired algorithms that have been used in solving the text clustering problem. Moreover, comprehensive experiments are conducted and analyzed to show the performance of the common well-know nature-inspired optimization algorithms in solving the text document clustering problems including Harmony Search (HS) Algorithm, Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithm, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Krill Herd Algorithm (KHA), Cuckoo Search (CS) Algorithm, Gray Wolf Optimizer (GWO), and Bat-inspired Algorithm (BA). Seven text benchmark datasets are used to validate the performance of the tested algorithms. The results showed that the performance of the well-known nurture-inspired optimization algorithms almost the same with slight differences. For improvement purposes, new modified versions of the tested algorithms can be proposed and tested to tackle the text clustering problems

    This paper presents a comprehensive survey of the meta-heuristic optimization algorithms on the text clustering applications and highlights its main procedures. These Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms are recognized as promising swarm intelligence methods due to their successful ability to solve machine learning problems, especially text clustering problems. This paper reviews all of the relevant literature on meta-heuristic-based text clustering applications, including many variants, such as basic, modified, hybridized, and multi-objective methods. As well, the main procedures of text clustering and critical discussions are given. Hence, this review reports its advantages and disadvantages and recommends potential future research paths.     Machine Learning-Based Hybrid Recommendation (SVOF-KNN) Model For Breast Cancer Coimbra Dataset Diagnosis

    An effective way to identify breast cancer is by creating a prediction algorithm using risk factors. Models for ML have been used to improve the effectiveness of early detection. This article analyses a KNN combined with singular value decomposition and Grey wolf optimization(GWO) method to give a detection of breast cancer(BC) at the early phase depending on risk metrics. The SVD technique was utilized to eliminate the reliable feature vectors, the GW optimizer was used to select the feature vectors, and while KNN model was used to diagnose the BC status. The proposed hybrid recommendation model (SVOF-KNN) for BC prediction's main objective is to give an accurate recommendation for BC prognosis through four different steps such as;BCCD dataset collection, data pre-processing, feature selection, and classification/recommendation. It is implemented to classify the consequence of risk metrics connected withregular blood analysis(BA) in the BCCD database. The aspects of the BC dataset are insulin, glucose, HOMA, Leptin, resistin, etc. The error categories such as RMSE and MAE are used to calculate the exception values for each instance of the BC dataset. It hybrid model has recommended the best score instance having the minimumexception rateas the defined features for BC prediction. It improves significance in automatic BC classification with the optimum solution. The hybrid recommendation model (SVOF-KNN) also recommends the accurateclassification method for BC diagnosis. The results of this work shall enhance the QoS in BC care

    Hybrid harmony search algorithm for continuous optimization problems

    Harmony Search (HS) algorithm has been extensively adopted in the literature to address optimization problems in many different fields, such as industrial design, civil engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering problems. In order to ensure its search performance, HS requires extensive tuning of its four parameters control namely harmony memory size (HMS), harmony memory consideration rate (HMCR), pitch adjustment rate (PAR), and bandwidth (BW). However, tuning process is often cumbersome and is problem dependent. Furthermore, there is no one size fits all problems. Additionally, despite many useful works, HS and its variant still suffer from weak exploitation which can lead to poor convergence problem. Addressing these aforementioned issues, this thesis proposes to augment HS with adaptive tuning using Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO). Meanwhile, to enhance its exploitation, this thesis also proposes to adopt a new variant of the opposition-based learning technique (OBL). Taken together, the proposed hybrid algorithm, called IHS-GWO, aims to address continuous optimization problems. The IHS-GWO is evaluated using two standard benchmarking sets and two real-world optimization problems. The first benchmarking set consists of 24 classical benchmark unimodal and multimodal functions whilst the second benchmark set contains 30 state-of-the-art benchmark functions from the Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC). The two real-world optimization problems involved the three-bar truss and spring design. Statistical analysis using Wilcoxon rank-sum and Friedman of IHS-GWO’s results with recent HS variants and other metaheuristic demonstrate superior performance
