Fuzzy subjective evaluation of Asia Pacific airport services

    Get PDF
This paper presents a fuzzy decision-making model to determine the ranking of fourteen Asia Pacific airports based on the services provided to passengers. Airport services were represented by six attributes namely comfort, processing time, convenience, courtesy of staff, information visibility and security. Data for the attributes given by travel experts are in the triangular fuzzy number form. Based on fuzzy set and approximate reasoning, the model allows decision makers to make the best choice in accordance with human thinking and reasoning processes. The use of fuzzy rules which are extracted directly from the input data in making evaluation, contributes to a better decision and is less dependent on experts.Experimental results show that the proposed model is comparable to previous studies. The model is suitable for various fuzzy environments

Time Aware Knowledge Extraction for Microblog Summarization on Twitter

Microblogging services like Twitter and Facebook collect millions of user generated content every moment about trending news, occurring events, and so on. Nevertheless, it is really a nightmare to find information of interest through the huge amount of available posts that are often noise and redundant. In general, social media analytics services have caught increasing attention from both side research and industry. Specifically, the dynamic context of microblogging requires to manage not only meaning of information but also the evolution of knowledge over the timeline. This work defines Time Aware Knowledge Extraction (briefly TAKE) methodology that relies on temporal extension of Fuzzy Formal Concept Analysis. In particular, a microblog summarization algorithm has been defined filtering the concepts organized by TAKE in a time-dependent hierarchy. The algorithm addresses topic-based summarization on Twitter. Besides considering the timing of the concepts, another distinguish feature of the proposed microblog summarization framework is the possibility to have more or less detailed summary, according to the user's needs, with good levels of quality and completeness as highlighted in the experimental results.Comment: 33 pages, 10 figure

Data mining is a challenging matter in research field for the last few years.Researchers are using different techniques in data mining. This paper discussed the initial state of Design and Development Intelligent Knowledge Discovery System for Stock Exchange (SE) Databases. We divide our problem in two modules. In first module we define Fuzzy Rule Base System to determined vague information in stock exchange databases. After normalizing massive amount of data we will apply our proposed approach, Mining Frequent Patterns with Neural Networks.Future prediction (e.g., political condition, corporation factors, macro economy factors, and psychological factors of investors) perform an important rule in Stock Exchange, so in our prediction model we will be able to predict results more precisely. In second module we will generate clustering algorithm. Generally our clustering algorithm consists of two steps including training and running steps. The training step is conducted for generating the neural network knowledge based on clustering. In running step, neural network knowledge based is used for supporting the Module in order to generate learned complete data, transformed data and interesting clusters that will help to generate interesting rules

Explainable pattern modelling and summarization in sensor equipped smart homes of elderly

In the next several decades, the proportion of the elderly population is expected to increase significantly. This has led to various efforts to help live them independently for longer periods of time. Smart homes equipped with sensors provide a potential solution by capturing various behavioral and physiological patterns of the residents. In this work, we develop techniques to model and detect changes in these patterns. The focus is on methods that are explainable in nature and allow for generating natural language descriptions. We propose a comprehensive change description framework that can detect unusual changes in the sensor parameters and describe the data leading to those changes in natural language. An approach that models and detects variations in physiological and behavioral routines of the elderly forms one part of the change description framework. The second part comes from a natural language generation system in which we identify important health-relevant features from the sensor parameters. Throughout this dissertation, we validate the developed techniques using both synthetic and real data obtained from the homes of the elderly living in sensor-equipped facilities. Using multiple real data retrospective case studies, we show that our methods are able to detect variations in the sensor data that are correlated with important health events in the elderly as recorded in their Electronic Health Records.Includes bibliographical reference
