Supplier selection is one important aspect that ensures smooth operations of firms, as well as in Derry Auto Service (DAS). Customers complained that the vehicle has been repaired similar damage after a few months of use because of the quality of the spare part is not replaced either. This happens because DAS just judging by the supplier selection criteria on the price of the cheapest goods. To improve the supplier selection process, DAS requires a decision support system that can process a variety of criteria that is using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). With the supplier selection decision support system is expected to produce recommendations supplier selection results. Results of experiments performed on supplier selection decision support system generates a maximum of 15 criteria and 15 intensity rating. In addition, the application also generates a report on the current best suppliers Kusuma Indah Motor with brand criteria, price, quality, and speed of delivery that produces 0.58 priority value for Shell Helix HX 5 and 1 priority value for Shell Helix HX 7

The purpose of this study is to develop a decision support system to support supplier selection process in PT Guna Elektro and also to develop a system that could provide alternatives to the selection of the best suppliers. The methodologies used in this study are analysis, design, and literature study. Analysis will be done by conducting a survey about the current company system, conducting interviews with system users, and then analyzing the survey results. The literature study is conducted by searching reference sources related to the study while the design is conducted by designing a data management subsystem, model, knowledge base, and user interface. The result on the development of the decision support system application can be used to select the most appropriate supplier which are suitable with the criteria required. The developed decision support system helps support the decision making process for supplier selection

Implementation of a fuzzy decision support system for selection of hand tractor assembly suppliers

Supplier selection is a complex problem in the current Industry 4.0 era. The large number of suppliers with different performance qualities makes it difficult for the company's internal parties to choose the appropriate supplier. The suitability of quality suppliers needed to supply raw materials needed by the industry is an important matter to be resolved. In the hand tractor assembly industry, this small and medium industry is also very dependent on the availability of supply materials, and of course it also depends on the selection of the supplier itself. In this study, the object of research is the 151 hand tractor assembly manufacturing industry using 10 main criteria for selecting suppliers. Each criterion has a weight that is calculated using the Fuzzy AHP method so as to obtain alternative supplier results that are displayed in order. A supplier is a company or individual that provides the raw materials needed by the company and its competitors to produce certain goods. In this study, a decision support system for supplier selection at the company has been developed using the AHP fuzzy method. The results of this study are expected to help companies in selecting suppliers that match the predetermined criteria. In building a decision support system that provides supplier recommendations, the authors apply the AHP fuzzy method in the process. In general automotive development, especially car, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) continuously improves quality and service to supply vehicles in Indonesia. To support the improvement of quality and service, PT ADM continues to improve technology-based system to assist in providing vehicle parts of production process requirements. Therefore Purchasing division is very important in this process. Besides, supplier is a very important role in making and supplying parts for the company. PT ADM has a new system used to improve bidding process. Based on the discussion, price was not the only thing significant. There were other things to consider, especially in selecting the right supplier. Realizing the system does not cover all areas, therefore, it needs Decision Support System with AHP method to filter suppliers. So that, the company will automatically have good supplier. At least, the supplier meets company standard, especially purchasing department. This research concludes that using AHP Method is very effective for filtering supplier so that the company can make sure that only capable supplier or supplier which meets company standard may join the tender to supply the goods or parts. Decision making process is a huge and crucial activity that must be given high attention by decision makers and managers as it affects all business strategies in organizations. Computer Based Decision Support System (DSS) is built and developed to assist decision makers in the activity of decision making process. DSS includes different components that integrate together out of which the most important part is the model based system. As a result of the rapidly increasing and sustainable needs of organizations, suppliers have become essential to any business. On the other hand, decision makers and managers face challenges when they are about to select suppliers due to the strong competitiveness among suppliers, obstacles that they will face when poor decisions are made, and many other reasons. Evaluating and selecting suppliers has been considered as the most critical and important process among the whole purchasing processes. However most of the existing models that have been proposed to support supplier selection decisions have various shortcomings. All the drawbacks of these models will be discussed during this research in details which indicates the urgent need for new suitable model. This research intends to develop a new hybrid model base DSS for supplier selection process that can guarantee better decision making. The new proposed model provides a suitable tool for assisting decision makers and managers to make the right decisions and select the most suitable supplier. The proposed model depends upon linear weightage model and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach. The proposed hybrid model will be applied using a real life case study to assess its effectiveness. In addition, What-if analysis technique will be used for model validation purpose. Finally, DSS software will be developed to utilize the proposed model to assist supplier selection decisions
