Institut de sciences du travail.Research project conducted on behalf of the Employment and Social Affairs DG of the European CommissionThis report aims to examine the process of social dialogue and to present the actors participating in that dialogue in the "C&M" sector in the 15 states member of the European Union (when we cite "the 15 states member of the European Union" or "UE15", please understand "the 15 states member of the European Union before the enlargement of the 1st May 2004"). The object of this comparative study can be resumed under three main points : 1. Description of the structuring of the whole of the C&M fields through certain key aspects which make it easier to compare one EU country with another. 2. Provision of an overview of the principal characteristics of the established professional relationships and the process of CB in the member states of the EU in this sector. 3. Provision of an overview of the main protagonists operating in this sector. The topics are the description of the sector (activities, organizations, employment and evolution), professional relations and collective negotiation (social dialogue, evolution and trends) and the players of the sector (employers' organizations and trade unions). We laid great stress on the importance to note the type of difficulty or obstacle the national experts could find in the collect of data. This study is intended to be an introduction to a subsequent piece of work, which will be concerned more specifically with the protagonists in the CB process for the CULTURE & MEDIA sector and their representatives in the UE15

Our Mythical Education

Clearly, wherever myth forms part of an educational syllabus, value judgements have been made by those who chose the texts, with regard to content, approach, usage, emphases, purpose and many other elements. [...] the present volume examines the reception of such myth within formal education in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries […]. It focuses for the most part on school education, but with forays into post-high school where relevant, and includes a wide geographical and chronological range. With regard to the latter limitations, the general emphasis is on modern day, and the current situation, but as a result of individual historical circumstances in each example. Semantic discovery and reuse of business process patterns

Patterns currently play an important role in modern information systems (IS) development and their use has mainly been restricted to the design and implementation phases of the development lifecycle. Given the increasing significance of business modelling in IS development, patterns have the potential of providing a viable solution for promoting reusability of recurrent generalized models in the very early stages of development. As a statement of research-in-progress this paper focuses on business process patterns and proposes an initial methodological framework for the discovery and reuse of business process patterns within the IS development lifecycle. The framework borrows ideas from the domain engineering literature and proposes the use of semantics to drive both the discovery of patterns as well as their reuse

The research in this volume is based on the link between the Fourth Industrial Revolution and work. On this level, there are several questions. What is the nature of work 4.0? What is the relationship between the technological revolution and employment? What are the labour rights in the era of new business models? Can innovation be implemented without overcoming the twentieth-century subordination and the new forms of freedom and work responsibility? Do digitalisation and new forms of business organization change working relationships and favour new forms of collaboration and conflict? Are training, quality and freedom at work more important than wages? How do company planning and design relate to technology and work? Does digitalisation push knowledge-based economy to determine new forms of work? What projects need to be implemented by the involved parties (starting with the workers) for these transformations to be a step forward in working conditions and industrial relations? These and many other questions are the basis of the essays collected in this volume, born from the collaboration between authors of different backgrounds and experience: academics, journalists, entrepreneurs, managers, operators, trade unionists and trade union representatives
